- Many guys are comfortable "manning the grill" but aren't as comfortable with basic cooking skills in the kitchen. I personally find cooking to be one of the best stress-relievers, and without sound cheesy, one of the best healthy lifestyle choices you can make on a regular basis.
And if you’ve ever had a chance to prepare a meal for a special lady friend-whether you’re dating, in a relationship, or married-you know just how powerful it can be to be able to whip up a meal with ease.
In this video, I share 7 cookbooks that I think every man should own if he's interested in honing his cooking chops.

I have worked as a chef for over 30 years, created a man cave kitchen in my house, and am the owner of over 1,000 cookbooks. I own 4 of the books that you recommended and I love your input.
I would recommend “New And Complete Techniques” by Jacques Pepin. It is a monster cookbook that is over 700 pages long, but he takes several pictures of the recipe as he is making it to help explain the process. The recipes are timeless and the book is so helpful to help cooks broaden their culinary skills.
👍
Chris Pine 2.0 haha
Lol... Yeah, He's definitely Rocking that Look...
My wife and I love diegetic cookbooks: Unofficial Hunger Games, Galaxy’s Edge/Black Spire Outpost, An Unexpected Cookbook, Hero’s Feast (D&D). Cooking some of the dishes while bingeing the movies they’re based on is a lot of fun!
I've been investigating about the books mentioned in this video and, damn, all the reviews on Amazon are great. All of them are a must have apparently, specially _How to cook everything_ and _The joy of cooking._
Gotta buy 'em all!
Good To Know, Thanks...
Can listen to TDM all day.
Ha! Thanks Muhammad! :-)
Im 42 years old and single now im just learning how to really cook.. I made stir-fry and other meals, but i don't know how to make biscuits and other essential things that you should have to know.. Men learn the basics to cooking while you can my mom and stepfather are passed away never had grandparents so i have to learn on my own now..
suggest books on fundamentals of cooking, for a complete beginner
Have not owned many but thankfully I have borrowed several from the library. The one book that I would recommend is the Boston cookbook for its variety and historic value. Currently am reading kent rollins cowboy cooking.
I just 😍😍 watching you 😊
thank you, Kimmy!
Do some of these books have a simular recipe style to Joy of Cooking? I don’t like the style in Joy of Cooking, and think it’s confusing. I like the traditional recipe format better.
Jesus Christ
We have Chris pine at home
but you miss salt, Fat, Acid, Heat that is best books ever se bro
i am not chef but i like cook buddy GREATING SOMALILAND
(Hm... "Distilled" and "Man," my two favorite words juxtaposed. This looks promising.) Men are sexy as heck when they're cooking! (Unless they're on Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul. Then, it means they're evil.) I (female input, here) would also recommend "Julia's Kitchen Wisdom," a much more accessible distillation (ahem) of the best from "Mastering the Art of French Cooking."
2021
I need a recommendation for a cooking illiterate person like me, which doesn't teach recipes for a specific region for how cooking works and different types of cooking and skills for cooking etc
I will give cookbooks to those who follow the instagram page
