@@busydadtraining I'm just spitballing here... so, I hurt my chest at work and haven't been able to do pushups. At first I couldn't even get into Plank position, so I did 20 minutes of squats (a sacred movement, yes?) and then 20 minutes of an hiit core workout I know (maybe not so sacred.) Once my chest was good enough to Plank, I started in on 4 count burpees and 6 count mountain climber burpees, (a navy seal with no pushups.) Anyways! My point/question I'm oh-so-painfully-slowly getting to is... how do we compensate for injuries to stay on the Busy Dad Program and get our 80 minutes in? Worth a video? I don't know!

16:07 “Alright now, stay with me”. The exact words I needed to hear at that moment. I have been doing fitness focused mostly on power lifting for the last ten years and recently hit an emotional and mental plateau. I follow Alan Thrall and he just started going through the same thing. Life also blew up on me and I found myself overworked, only able to go to the gym twice a week, and going to visit family in Greece and needed something I could do that would be a change mentally and physically, adapt into my two day a week routine and be able to be done on vacation.
I looked up burpees, found your page, did some practice and am happy to say I just completed my first 50 in 21 minutes in the backyard of γιαγιά (grandma) and I feel alive and accomplished.
Thank you so much for your love and encouragement. It means the world amidst the craziness and stress of life.
    God bless!

Hey Max, another great video, thank you. If you’re taking requests then I’m currently stuck at around 65 6-counts in my 20 mins so a 75 6-count pace would be great. The 100 pace is sadly too much. I start off well,
full of enthusiasm, then run out of puff! It’s funny how when watching a video can seem such a sedate pace. Reality is quite different for this beginner.

Got the 50 in 20 mins! One thing I noticed is that I struggled to keep your pace during the rep so couldn’t quite match your count (eg they may take me around a second or two longer), but I then just rested for a couple of seconds less so I managed to stay with you without hitting pause. Any suggestion on how to improve speed of a rep without sacrificing form, or do you expect that would just happen naturally as I move through the program?

    • @busydadtraining

Excellent work! As for working on speed, I do think that the speed will come as your body gets a deeper knowledge of this movement. One thing that does help is making sure that EVERYTHING is tight throughout the movement, especially the glutes and core.

90 navy seals and 225 six counts to help bridge the gap between levels would be really useful .

50 done with you, and then felt good so on to 50 6 counts

Off the back of this, I did continue with Navy Seals for another 30, then continued to 6 counts until I'd completed 150. To date the best I've done yet. Thanks so much for these accompanying videos
