    Thank you to everyone who replied about the cartwheel count . We are glad to announce "Big Dee" won the GiftCard. He answered correctly with 4. I would have taken 4 for the amount of cartwheels Chris did or 7 for the amount of times Chris was shown in general but either way your comments and replies are always appreciated-TGG

    Nice refurbishment Jeff, that griddle plate looks better than new. That owner should be very happy. I'm sure he was since this video is a year old now. Great video brother.

    Wow brother! Great instruction on how to regulate the temperature and tune up the Blackstone. Perfect job on cleaning and re-seasoning. You ever get tired of those Yankees up there we’ll welcome you in Texas any day!

    They have an adapter and adjustsble regulator under 20 dollars. 0-20psi . Was exactly what i needed. Now my grill can be a flamethrower!

    At the 9:55 mark... since you're inside the grill at this point it would probably behoove you to replace your igniter. For the few $$ it costs might as well do it because it sucks when trying to start your griddle on a holiday weekend and the igniter goes tits up!!! Consider it a yearly maintenance thing.

    I’d say 4 times . I did basically the same thing with mine but I used a piece of copper pipe I had laying around . I don’t have a welder so I used J&B weld & it’s worked great for over 2 years now .

    Low heat - that is because the regulators that come on the 36 inch Blackstone are crap. I have a dual stage regulator on my 36 inch griddle. Now, I have even temps all the way across my griddle. I would have sprayed carb cleaner through those nozzles, just like I do on carbs on my chainsaws. I also do not get any fluttering with the dual stage regulator. A wire wheel would have worked better than sanders, even on rusty areas.

    I enjoy watching your videos. My wife and children purchased a blackstone for my birthday last month. after using it one time i have become a huge fan. I have given away my bbq and I now have a treager smoker and my blackstone. Thanks for the videos i really enjoy them. Have any of you guys converted to natural gas? I am thinking about it and wondered if you were planning to do a video on it in the near future. Thanks again. P.S. Where do you guys live?

    Wish you lived closer I would send my Blackstone over for a make over! Really great info I really need to wield the nipple on the bottom of mine and make the drain bigger. I really enjoyed the video

    Hey nice job as always Jeff I have a chef master griddle the sides seem a bit lowdown me ,,, should I raise them up ,,,any suggestions ,,thanks in advance ,,really like watching you guys cook , make everything look so simple

      Ty Noel for the compliment. I'm no fabricator for sure but I have always been into tinkering. If you have access to a welder than why not play around a bit. Only concern would be if your griddle has some sort of ceramic or factory finish on it that welding would definitely mess up. Most griddles are just mild steel. Thanks again-J

    You did a great job Jeff restoring that griddle. You should get many more years out of it before having to buy another. Looks like humidity is an issue where you guys live. I'm in Southern California, so humidity is relatively low compared to other places. I do however wipe the griddle down and season it after every use and then store it in the garage covered. Where are you guys at?
    On a side note, I have the Blue Rhino 36" griddle and I was getting around 550-575 on high. If your interested I can tell you how I got my high temp up around 750-790. My goal was not to run it at that temperature, rather I wanted to get more heat using less propane and I was able to achieve that for less then $20 bucks and about 15 minutes. Again, great job on the restore, looking forward to seeing more video's from you all !

      First off, ty for the reply. We are on the MA/NH border. You definitely peaked my interest as far getting more heat for less gas. Only things I would thing could get you there would be one of those adjustable regulators or blocking the gap in between the griddle top and base. The adjustable regulators definitely won't save you gas so has to be the blocking. Let me know if I'm getting close.Ty again-J

    Good job....I have the two burner edition and evidently my issue with low flame was out to opening the propane tank too quick....I then have to disconnect and reconnect and crack it open slowly......Once again good job!! BTW......any plans on selling Griddle Guys shirts??

    It would be a complete job if you would have cut a piece of steel the shape of the grease channel but a little higher up and down and welded it to the end of the grease trough to keep the grease from over shooting the bigger hole you drilled in the trough after you welde the gas ripple on.
    Just mf 2 cents worth being an owener of 2 36" Blackstone griddles
    The griddle guys keep the videos coming I really like watching the comradery between you guys while filming the videos!!!!!!!!

      agreed. anything that is placed at the end of the channel that hangs lower is a "drip leg" and would direct grease flow. I'm not criticizing what was done in the video, just offering another view point. My concern would be that hole getting clogged.

    I just recently purchased the PitBoss KC Combo with the side griddle. This is the first cooking with a griddle and I love it. With each coat you cook it until the smoke stops?

    Tip... For light surface rust, Try laying a towel down on top of griddle. Soak in vinegar, let stand for 24 hours.,

    Would you suggest some high temp spray paint to keep the rust under control on the frame of the griddle as time goes on? I can see the frame rusting out long before the griddle itself needs to be replaced.

      Couldn't hurt , just not sure the result is worth the effort. I'm pretty sure I'm heading into my 4th year with mine without issue. You might also have some heat loss. If you try it let us know how it works out . Ty-J

    Just catching up on some older videos, nice job. I am not sure I followed, when you changed the burners did you switch to natural gas, or just clean them? Also I didn’t use my griddle once this year, so I’m sure mine is going to need a redo. Did you put a hose on it or does it still just drip? I was going to weld a piece of metal on the end of the tray. Great Job.

      Glad to hear from you Derek and thank you for checking in. I left the burners set up for propane at this point. We griddle in the garage over the winter and I don't have a natural gas feed in there. For the grease trap I still just let it drip. At least now it ends up in the catch versus all over my deck. Good luck with pulling yours out. Might not be that bad. If you do need to rehab I still suggest crisco for seasoning. Months later , still looks good. Thanks again -J

    Hi, new subscriber here. Could you perhaps do a Blackstone vs Camp Chef Griddle? I'm in the market in wanting to buy a griddle. I know you guys have Blackstone but why?

      Welcome to The Griddle Guys Babs and ty for subbing. We would love to do a shootout with the three big players, Blackstone, CampChef and Blue Rhino . We may that in the future but as it stands right now we are doing this all on our own . No sponsors. Nate was the first to get a Blackstone a few years ago. I was impressed with it but already had a decent grill. Nate being the type of guy he is bought me one. I loved it. A few months went bye and before you knew it Chris was saying "what about me. Lol.. He bought one and that is when we came up with The Griddle Guys. We didn't have a need to shop around at that point because our Blackstones were working out great. They all seem to be good. I would say when your looking keep in mind three things-1 a hard cover is really nice -2 you can't have enough workspace and -3 whichever one you decide on get two tanks ( they use a lot of propane) . Nothing worse than running out of gas mid cook. Hopefully this helps. Ty-J

      I would say thickness plays a more important role when comparing mild steels .The are both going to rust if you dont care for them as well as they will both stick if not seasoned well. With no real difference between them there I'd say most important factor is how do they cook. The thicker they are the more heat they retain when you throw down something like a steak or pork chop . A thinner cooktop will take longer to recover resulting in something sitting in either oil or it's own juices at a sub optimal temp for longer than needed. Put simply , it's my opinion you will have an easier time putting out good food . If thickness is comparable then fall back on BTU's . Hopefully this is helpful-J

    How long did you have your griddle before you did this ???

      I think it was about 3 years old. To be honest it wasn't nearly as bad when the owner gave up on it. Couple weeks left uncared for on the side of the garage after that did a real number on it. The main issue at the time was not enough heat.
