    We purchased a season gold pass to sesame place for 2023 during their black friday deal. It was cheaper for us to do this and get sea world included rather than buying individual tickets for our family. Even just using the pass once. Our little one I'd a toddler and very into sesame street so we decided to go here on a family vacation.

    This was a great comparison! With all the info here, I’m thinking with our one extra day in sand diego that Lego Land will be a better fit for us since it will be November and too cold for any water park (too cold for us anyways). Thanks for all the great info :)

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  2 роки тому +1

      November is a tough one. There’s potential for some nice 70-80 degree weather. But I agree if there’s any doubt, LEGOLAND is the safer option.

    • @fewwett

      With our weather, it’s always 70 - 90 degrees haha. If you have smaller children, Lego land is the better choice :)

    One question I do have or maybe a video suggestion for next time would be showing us how to use and compare Sesame Place’s Magic Queue vs Legoland’s Reserve and Ride
    Thank you for all your hard work

    Very cool. I’m so glad I found your channel bc I moved to SoCal 3yrs ago and have yet to enjoy any of the parks and attractions bc of getting acclimated and then the pandemic. Your videos are helping me justify dragging my family to things that are also fun for my 4yr old little bro (yes there’s a 35 yr difference but I’m a kid at heart and worked in childcare for 20 yrs so theme parks and kid things are totally my jam still). Thanks again and Legoland looks like a blast too

    Excellent video, took grandkids last year to Legoland (at that time 12, 10, 6, 3) and really none of them are really into Legos or Sesame, they just wanted the water parks part. So glad we decided on Sesame this year, the little guys (not 4 & 7) will love the added bonus of the rides along with water park, this was just what I needed to watch to feel good about our choices!

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  Рік тому

      Legoland for sure. Sesame Place was once a water park for adults and teens. And I would say most of the stuff still there, while Sesame Street themed, is still geared toward at least 5+ at a minimum.

      I believe there are the standard places to sit down your things or towels like lounge chairs that don't cost any extra, just the private cabanas are paid. I don't completely remember as we rented a locker and kept all of our things in there and didn't worry about towels until we were completely done, which we then got out of the locker.

    Hi Thank you for your videos! Its great resource for us to plan our trip to San Diego. I have two girls 4.5 and 1.5 yrs old. We want to do Legoland, but were wondering if we can also combine water park in one day? Just dont want to be too ambitious here, but at the same time 1-day is all we have. Let us know your thoughts.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  2 роки тому

      If you limited yourself to about 2 hours in the water park I think you’d be fine. You might consider doing all the big rides first thing in the morning as after lunch everything gets pretty crowded.
      The water park isn’t open right away in any case. So use that starting time to ride your most important rides.

  • @lisabostrack24
    @lisabostrack24 2 роки тому

    That was an awesome comparison. I will have to go with Legoland. Just because there are more rides. And the water park is a bonus. It have to be 2 day pass. I know last year my Silver did get me into SeaWorld Aquatica. But it was closing I think that's why. 2023 goals.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah, I believe they offered Aquatica free there at the end for all pass levels. I think it was dying in crowds and they needed a boost before it closed.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  11 місяців тому

      Legoland for sure. Unless your primary goal is the water park. Then probably Sesame Place. There’s bigger stuff at Sesame Place for the 14 year old. But if regular rides are a high consideration there’s just not a lot at Sesame Place.

  • @ougaz

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  2 роки тому +1

      That’s a tough one. For that age, they’re both about the same. But I would say since Sesame Place used to be an adult water park, that legoland is probably designed better for 2-3 years old.

    Can you tell me the most thrilling water slides of Seasome place and the ones that are calmer/smaller? I've been to Legoland many many times but this will be my first time going to Seasome place, and I'm not a real thrill seeker 🙂
    Great video 👍

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  2 роки тому

      Snuffy's Spaghetti Slides were pretty tame, but the orange covered slides at that same location can be rather fast, but not scary/thrilling. Oscar's Rotten Rafts and Cookie Monster Mixer are pretty high on adrenaline.
      The Bert and Ernie slides were still under construction, but are probably along the same lines as Snuffy's if I had to guess.
      If you'd like to see my full Sesame Place video which shows you everything along with thrill level, you can check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/gsL5eKsh3XI/v-deo.html

    Our Legoland passes expire in May and I’m seriously debating if we should get the sesame place + sea world this time year. We live in Lemon Grove so the drive would probably be shorter if we went to Sesame place + sea world but my kids really like Legoland because of all the rides. Can’t decided!

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  2 роки тому

      SeaWorld is great if your kids are tall enough for the big coasters. My oldest can ride Manta and Tidal Twister but not Electric Eel or Emperor.
      It’s also fantastic if you’d like entertaining shows and animals to walk around and enjoy.
      But if it’s all about rides for persons under 52 inches, then Legoland for sure wins.
      I understand the drive though. We are from El Cajon and it’s a pain coming home. There’s ALWAYS traffic in Carlsbad no matter what day it is.

    Planning to be in San Diego for some days, for a sports family even, i will only have time for 1-2 theme parks to visit, have a 6 year old, and a 16 year old i this was your situation which parks would you visit?

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  2 роки тому

      Legoland is potentially a bit too young for your 16 year old. I mean, they’d still probably have a decent time, but there are no thrill rides except a Wild Mouse type coaster. Legoland also has several rides that have MAXIMUM age limits that stop at 12 years old. On the other hand, your 6 year old would love it.
      Likewise, none of the “dry rides” at Sesame Place are going to wow your 16 year old. In fact, legoland has better dry rides for your teen.
      But Sesame Place’s water rides were designed for adults and teens primarily since it is just a retheme of SeaWorld’s Aquatica water park.
      If a water park is essential, definitely do Sesame Place over Legoland.
      If you don’t care about the water park, you might consider SeaWorld as it has three high thrill coasters for your teen, 2 water splash down type rides for the whole family, and 7 smaller rides your 6 year old will love (and your teen might too, think Dumbo, Spinning Tea Cups, Swings)

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  2 роки тому +1

      If he’s under 42 he can’t do any of the main water slides, but he can do the wave pool, Count’s castle, Lazy River, and Silly Sand Slides plus all the dry rides.

      You should be able to. You paid for admission for the day. But if the food you're taking is just something like a ham and cheese sandwich, you can take that in with you.
      They just won't allow branded food like Chick-Fil-A, McDonalds, or Dominos.
      But we pack our own food all the time for the kids. Snacks like Pop-Tarts, Cheeze-Its, granola bars, etc are all fine too.

      @SoCalDisneyDad  2 роки тому

      Costco is a good option to look into. I know we’ve purchased discounted SeaWorld passes there before. So they likely have other related options/discounts.
      No Coke or McDonald’s discounts or anything like that.
      You may look into the San Diego CityPass. I haven’t used it but they usually offer a discount of multi-day multi-attraction packages if you also plan to visit other parks when in the area.

      We were there for 4 1/2 hours with absolutely no waits because it was media day and we could have easily spent another 2 hours there. Factor in lines for water slides and rides and a whole day is very very feasible.
