For sure! He won’t be able to do the coaster, the swings, or the Cookie Climb. But he’ll be able to do the other 4 “dry rides” plus you’ll have a blast at the water park.
Great video! One thing I'm curious about has to do with the Cookie's Monster Mixer slide. In all the promotion materials and maps, there's a giant Cookie Monster at the top of the bowl with a mixing spoon. I guess that was cut? @@benjaminveksler3793 We didn’t attempt to do any rides after the water park. It does give me the feel of being able to go between the rides as it’s not separated into a wet and dry park. Everything is all mixed together. But I would assume you’d need to be dry and in normal clothes to do things like the coaster. But I’m not 100% positive.
The roller coaster, swings, and Cookie climb have height requirements but the rest are appropriate for all ages. Of course, none of the water slides are age appropriate except the small children areas and the wave pool.
@@HONEYHEIST One was fine for us, but there were no waits during media preview. It’s not that large though. So I can’t imagine 2 would be needed anyway.
No. Masks are no longer required in any San Diego area theme park. They are still recommended and you’ll see signs to that effect. But there are no requirements anymore.
Please help me understand, SeaWorld Sandiego is different and Sesame Place San Diego is different? Which one would be more fun for 5 years old… both of them or any one? Can you quickly suggest.. I’m planning to go next week
SeaWorld is a theme park / aquarium with 15 rides and many of them smaller kids rides. Sesame Place is a water park that does have 7 small dry rides but the main attraction is the pools and water slides. Both are excellent for a 5 year old. It’s just a matter of what you want to see/do more.
@@SoCalDisneyDad Great, Thanks for your suggestions. We have 4 days for San Diego trip and looking to explore 2 days - the nature and beaches like La Jolla, Sunset cliffs , Coronado Island beach etc and other 2 days - Kids friendly attractions - Can you please suggest which one your votes go for - SeaWorld San Diego, Sesame Place San Diego , Safari Park and Legoland . Based on your experience, which one do you rate top 2 ? Any more recommendations?
@@krishnapriya4948 I love all 4 of them! I know that’s not the answer you wanted 😂. They are all so unique. The Safari Park is a Zoo and fantastic (though I usually recommend the San Diego Zoo if it’s your first time, as opposed to the Safari Park). Legoland is a major kids theme park that my 4 year old and 7 year old absolutely love. It has a water park too (extra cost). And I already explained the other two. I would suggest Legoland for sure and get the water park option if that interests you. And the other day would either be the Zoo/Safari Park or SeaWorld depending on if you want land animals or water animals. If you do Legoland, you may want a lower key day so Zoo/Safari Park would be the way to go. SeaWorld will be just as crazy/busy as Legoland. Maybe even more so.
Nice vid... I thinking about getting a season pass..do you think it's worth it? It looks like you guys had an awesome time...I do live in OC though....thanks!!
If you think you’d visit at least 3 times in a season, go for it! You aren’t really saving any money until the third visit though. If you see yourself also visiting SeaWorld you could consider a SeaWorld pass with a Sesame Place add-on or a platinum pass (that gives you access to all 11 SeaWorld parks in the US). We have Disneyland passes and make the trek up from East County San Diego at least once a month so it’s certainly doable but whether Sesame Place/SeaWorld has the same (or similar) appeal to you would be something to consider before getting a pass.
It was heated, yes. It was about 68 degrees when we started water rides and I didn’t even notice. The sun helped, but the water was still pretty warm. Our Legoland water park video hits tomorrow and it was much much colder that day, but their water was warmed as well. It warmer in the water than out. I don’t quite remember that warm of water at Sesame Place. But it definitely wasn’t air temp.
@@cherit34638 It was a high of 75 and sunny for the day. So it warmed up decently enough. Legoland on Saturday on the other hand was a high of 65 and it was about 61 when we were in the water park. That was a little TOO cold. Fine in the water, frigid if you were standing in line for slides.
SoCal Disney Dad, thank you for showing us Sesame Place San Diego, but have you ever thought about going to Great Wolf Lodge? I go there a lot with my kids and wanted to know if you have been there or what was your review there at Great Wolf Lodge.
We have been asked this a lot! Like it might be our number one request. We talked about this yesterday and are thinking about it for Easter Break. I’m going to research pricing and availability today.
@@SoCalDisneyDad it is an indoor water park and have a hotel that is part of your stay. It also has a restaurant in and on the water park/hotel. It is pretty much 5 mins west of Disneyland. Would love to see your review if you go. Tip for great wolf is to book the hotel a little early to get the next discount.
@@michaellastrella7568 I have looked into booking it before for discounts, but they were always weekdays, and until recently, I haven't had the ability to take off on weekdays. But now I can so it's definitely something we want to do.
We are planning to get the annual pass should i get this? Im a big fan of sesame street when i was youger and my daugther loves elmo when shs was a baby.. it will be fun going here like dream come true to meet my favorite characters 🥰
you do all for one price. there are def more water rides than dry rides . we just threw our suits in a bag and changed when we were done with dry rides
One admission to get in and then you can do everything. The only add on would be Magic Queue if you want to be able to skip the line. Magic Queue is limited so once it’s gone for the day, that’s it. I like that they limit it because WDW’s Genie+ is being used by 80% of people and it defeats the purpose of a “fast lane”
We visited Knott’s for our first official visit with rides open this past March. We will likely try to go again next March. But you’re welcome to search for that video if you’d like to see it.
I am going to sea world this July and sesame Place on different days my question is do they have the meet and greet with the sesame Street characters at sea world bay of play or sesame place ?
They have meet and greets at both places, but I’m not sure on times. I know there aren’t always meet and greets at Bay of Play. But they do have them. You’re more likely to see characters at Sesame Place.
@@SoCalDisneyDad thank you for that info I actually called and they told me they have them at both places and all characters will be at sea world bay of play all day the day I’m going I’m hoping this is true we are coming from an army base in Colorado I don’t want to be disappointed lol
@@carinasanchez4513 They’ll be there, but I don’t know about “all day”. Usually when I go it’s hit or miss if I see them. But they should have set meet and greet times if you check the app.
I haven’t finished the video so maybe my question will be answered later but do they have a little playground or anything for toddlers who might not be tall enough for the rides ? We’re taking my son on Saturday for his birthday and I hope there’s things for him 😩
I don't recall seeing a playground. No. There is a small foam mat area called Harmony Hills that I might not have put in the video, but it was just a place to make music by hitting metal flowers with a hammer. They do have that smaller water play area, and the wave pool is zero entry, so they have super shallow ends. 3 of the 7 dry rides have a minimum height requirement, but 4 of them are for anyone. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Sesame Place is its own theme park (including both dry and wet rides for one admission price). This is separate and different from SeaWorld (in case that’s where confusion comes from) which is a different theme park with its own admission fees.
@@rezzylove3365 I would purchase tickets ahead of time as online prices are usually cheaper, but otherwise Sesame Place doesn’t have a reservation system so you can show up and buy tickets at the gate if you like.
@@rezzylove3365 I needed to buy a pass for my oldest son at SeaWorld and found out it was like $10 more expensive at the gate. So I just bought it on my phone while standing at the ticket kiosk, then the guy printed his pass for me. Saved $10.
Looks like 2 PM and 6 PM for tomorrow, Sunday. But it’s subject to change day by day so I’d check the show times on their website for the day you plan to attend.
As far as I know, yes. They have rides at SeaWorld that aren't at Sesame Place. The only overlap is the Elmo's dumbo type ride. The swing ride is smaller at Sesame Place and SeaWorld's Jellyfish Swings caters to teens and adults.
If it’s an either or scenario, and your kids are under 7 or 8 years old, then go with LEGOLAND. Their water park isn’t as thrilling, but my youngest didn’t go on a single water slide at Sesame Place (except Oscar’s Rotten Rafts and he HATED it). The park itself at LEGOLAND is way more exciting.
@@dannyboy5123 You should be able to take them with you to the dry rides. I’m not sure about leaving them in a random spot, but you could probably claim some lounge chairs in the water areas and put your stuff there. Be sure you don’t leave any valuables out though.
I didn’t really like legoland maybe because I didn’t plan what rides before going but it was more for my son and he had fun I’d prefer this place 🤗 he’s tall and would benefit more on the rides but legoland was packed when I went but if I ever go back I’m planning what rides to get on ahead of time my son had a lot more fun at California adventure
@@amycortez5280 Disney will always win for us over LEGOLAND, but I think LEGOLAND is a great place to go too. A lot of their rides are hour long waits during busy times though. The water park there is definitely for kids on the littler side whereas Sesame Place caters to the older kids and adults.
I believe the life jackets are available for all without cost. We had no costs for anything during the media preview. Lockers were free, food was free. So I don’t know the exact cost of things that will have a cost. But I am pretty positive the life jackets don’t have a charge. Legoland’s water park is the same way. So long as they don’t run out, life jackets should be available at no extra cost.
@@sarinaarceo9103 No worries at all. Yes, take your own towels. Towels are available for purchase if you forget one. I remember seeing that as an “extra” when getting a locker, but that would have had a charge.
You can do 4 of the dry rides, the children’s water play area, the lazy River, and the wave pool. But the rest of the rides and slides have height requirements.
This video was during Media Previews, so there were maybe 200-300 people there and and roughly only 30 riding water slides. The guy at Cookie Monster Mixer said 10 people had ridden it all day. One of my other vlogger friends (he shared his thoughts on Super Grover after riding in this video) only did the dry rides and left. I want to get back to Sesame Place but it’s likely not going to be until first week of June. My next few weeks are way too busy on weekends and it’s not open weekdays right now.
@@lemonwang1408 Excellent! We were at Legoland water park today and it was 61 degrees. The water was great. Just a little chilly outside. So assuming you go to Sesame Place on a similar day, it’s still a good time since the water is warm.
I’d never been to it before, even when it was Aquatica, so this was great to me. But I can see how Soak City was probably run better as Knott’s is better than SeaWorld in my opinion.
They have really bad service for popular food pizza, hotdog and hamburgers during weekends. Your going to wait for 2 hours and employees are mostly teenagers and they don't care if people are waiting so long cost is so expensive I would advise go for nachos only 12.99 and feed for 2 people. I even saw employees play around in the pizza cooking area. And also heard bad complaints of people long wait at hotdog and pizza. @@SoCalDisneyDad Thank you! What attire do I need to go on the normal rides, I assume shirt required and maybe shoes?
@@benjaminveksler3793 We didn’t attempt to do any rides after the water park. It does give me the feel of being able to go between the rides as it’s not separated into a wet and dry park. Everything is all mixed together.
But I would assume you’d need to be dry and in normal clothes to do things like the coaster. But I’m not 100% positive.
@@SoCalDisneyDad well, well see tommarow!
Is the water park free with admission or is it extra?
Everything inside the park is a single admission.
any idea what the depth of the water is at the bottom when you come down the slides ?
I am not super sure. But I would put little ones in a life vest unless they’re sure of themselves. I’d say it’s probably at least 3-4 feet deep.
GROVER COASTER
It’s a fun, but short little ride. Good for the kiddos.
Are these rides 1year old friendly? Thx for the video, very informative!
The roller coaster, swings, and Cookie climb have height requirements but the rest are appropriate for all ages. Of course, none of the water slides are age appropriate except the small children areas and the wave pool.
@@SoCalDisneyDad awesome thank you so much.
@@SoCalDisneyDad also, do you need 1 or 2 days to do the whole park ?
@@HONEYHEIST One was fine for us, but there were no waits during media preview.
It’s not that large though. So I can’t imagine 2 would be needed anyway.
1 admission to the rides and water park or have to purchase different admission?
It’s one theme park. No separate admissions. Everything is all together.
@@SoCalDisneyDad thanks. 😊
Are masks required inside the theme park?
No. Masks are no longer required in any San Diego area theme park. They are still recommended and you’ll see signs to that effect. But there are no requirements anymore.
1:58 GROVER COASTER
So am I able to get two people in free with the season pass I really need to know before I buy it 🙃☺️
Please help me understand, SeaWorld Sandiego is different and Sesame Place San Diego is different?
I only have one question. Is the water heated? It is March and San Diego water temperature is typically freezing cold unless seriously heated.
68! That is freezing! 86 might be tolerable. Thanks for the video. 😃
But now I can so it's definitely something we want to do.
so where exactly is sesame street? is it inside seaworld? like legoland’s waterpark
No, this is a separate theme park. It used to be Aquatica, and before SeaWorld owned it it was a Knott’s Soak City. It’s located in Chula Vista, CA
What camera abs holder are you using to film?
A manfrotto tripod for iPhone and a GoPro with wrist mount on water slides
We are planning to get the annual pass should i get this? Im a big fan of sesame street when i was youger and my daugther loves elmo when shs was a baby.. it will be fun going here like dream come true to meet my favorite characters 🥰
If you think you’ll visit at least three times during the season (they close around Thanksgiving) then a pass is definitely worth it!
This them park looks nice
We had such a great time!
So once you pay your admission can you do all the water slides and rides or do they all have different prices?
you do all for one price. there are def more water rides than dry rides . we just threw our suits in a bag and changed when we were done with dry rides
@@jessicaladdon7084 thank you so much for your response
@@SoCalDisneyDad thank you! Was debating of going to the zoo or here but my kids are fishes so this place wins!
@@Laura_0427 They’ll have loads of fun, I’m sure!
Hey Socal Disney Dad! I wanted to tell you that you should go to Knotts berry Farm! Its in California I hope you live in California!
We visited Knott’s for our first official visit with rides open this past March. We will likely try to go again next March. But you’re welcome to search for that video if you’d like to see it.
Ok I will thank you!
@@SoCalDisneyDad I did thank you I got times i appreciate it ❤️
I haven’t finished the video so maybe my question will be answered later but do they have a little playground or anything for toddlers who might not be tall enough for the rides ? We’re taking my son on Saturday for his birthday and I hope there’s things for him 😩
I don't recall seeing a playground. No. There is a small foam mat area called Harmony Hills that I might not have put in the video, but it was just a place to make music by hitting metal flowers with a hammer.
They do have that smaller water play area, and the wave pool is zero entry, so they have super shallow ends.
3 of the 7 dry rides have a minimum height requirement, but 4 of them are for anyone.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
will you go in the sumer?
How does the pricing go do u have to pay separately for the waterpark
Sesame Place is its own theme park (including both dry and wet rides for one admission price).
This is separate and different from SeaWorld (in case that’s where confusion comes from) which is a different theme park with its own admission fees.
Thanks
do I have to purchase tickets before or at the gate for Parking and day passes ?
@@rezzylove3365 I would purchase tickets ahead of time as online prices are usually cheaper, but otherwise Sesame Place doesn’t have a reservation system so you can show up and buy tickets at the gate if you like.
@@rezzylove3365 I needed to buy a pass for my oldest son at SeaWorld and found out it was like $10 more expensive at the gate. So I just bought it on my phone while standing at the ticket kiosk, then the guy printed his pass for me. Saved $10.
Is this in sea world?
It’s where the old Aquatica used to be. This is a separate theme park 15 minutes south of SeaWorld.
When are the parades?
Looks like 2 PM and 6 PM for tomorrow, Sunday. But it’s subject to change day by day so I’d check the show times on their website for the day you plan to attend.
Are they going to keep seasame street bay of play at seaworld
As far as I know, yes. They have rides at SeaWorld that aren't at Sesame Place. The only overlap is the Elmo's dumbo type ride. The swing ride is smaller at Sesame Place and SeaWorld's Jellyfish Swings caters to teens and adults.
My main question is , if their season pass is worth it over the Legoland season pass as in activities for the kids.
@@dannyboy5123 Thank you!
Question: was the kids life jackets free? Im going on sunday with my 2 year old so just curious
Do i need to bring my own towels too? Sorry for the lame questions but just trying to pack accordingly haha
@@sarinaarceo9103 No worries at all. Yes, take your own towels. Towels are available for purchase if you forget one. I remember seeing that as an “extra” when getting a locker, but that would have had a charge.
Hey did your two year old get on any of the rides I’m going next weekend
@@quengarner9769 yes we went on 2 rides. The submarine one and the elmo flying one. She enjoyed both!
How much can I do with a 18 month old
You can do 4 of the dry rides, the children’s water play area, the lazy River, and the wave pool. But the rest of the rides and slides have height requirements.
It looks so empty from when you went
This video was during Media Previews, so there were maybe 200-300 people there and and roughly only 30 riding water slides.
The guy at Cookie Monster Mixer said 10 people had ridden it all day.
One of my other vlogger friends (he shared his thoughts on Super Grover after riding in this video) only did the dry rides and left.
I want to get back to Sesame Place but it’s likely not going to be until first week of June.
My next few weeks are way too busy on weekends and it’s not open weekdays right now.
I'm gonna be a dad one day, I'mma bring or her here.
You definitely should! It’s a great place.
I hate this place this is too fun 1 star
Is it very cold water?
Not at all. The pools are heated. There’s still a slight adjustment when you’re completely dry to being wet, but it was shocking at all.
@@SoCalDisneyDad Great! We gonna be there during spring break 😇
@@lemonwang1408 Excellent! We were at Legoland water park today and it was 61 degrees. The water was great. Just a little chilly outside. So assuming you go to Sesame Place on a similar day, it’s still a good time since the water is warm.
Soak city was better 😔
I’d never been to it before, even when it was Aquatica, so this was great to me. But I can see how Soak City was probably run better as Knott’s is better than SeaWorld in my opinion.
How much is the day ticket?
It varies on the day, but for the next month at least, it’s $64.99.
@@SoCalDisneyDad thank you!
It's busy tomorrow
They have really bad service for popular food pizza, hotdog and hamburgers during weekends. Your going to wait for 2 hours and employees are mostly teenagers and they don't care if people are waiting so long cost is so expensive I would advise go for nachos only 12.99 and feed for 2 people.
I even saw employees play around in the pizza cooking area. And also heard bad complaints of people long wait at hotdog and pizza.
ME HATE SEAWORLD FOOD SERVICE DURING WEEKENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SeaWorld food sucks in general. Overpriced and poor quality. Service is definitely a problem too.
