To everyone that hated the album: I went to the concert tonight. They know the album is different, they said they went for a silly feel for this album. They didn’t take themselves that seriously with this one. The lead singer was wearing a pacman suit for gods sake. Instead of leaving the stage for the encore they just laid down until we got loud enough lol. For the song “Hello Mister Sun” they all put on rainbow hats and made a joke about production value. Love you guster.
He always wore that Pac-Man suit, since their first show.
I completely understand people's disdain for this album. It has a much less rock-ish vibe. It's all a matter of personal opinion.

This album Is awesome!
I find that hard to believe. There is serious musicmanship in this record, and many of the tracks would make the list of top ten most somber Guster songs.

Favorite work album these days. Keeps me mellowed out enough to forget I hate my job.
The slow drawing of the cover is pretty trippy to watch whilst listening for the first time...
Been listening to Guster since 1999. This is their best album, EVER. Simply unexpected. A band that kinda made me yawn on most of their songs since 10 years ago. But this, this is just on gem after another and the production i wall to wall genius on every track.
This a monumental moment for you guys. You managed to toally change the sound of the band while somehow still remaining entirely true to yourself. The melodies are still there, and the song writing, but this orchestration is so different. Overexcited managed to capture the goofyness of the live shows without dumbing anything down, which is something I don't think I've ever seen from you guys. This is a stepping off point, a new era that almost started with Evermotion, but fell a little short. This album was out of the park. 25 years in, totally different from the rest of the catalog, and still holds its weight against albums like KIT and LAGF. It's definitely better than some records, but more importantly it's entirely different than anything you've done while remaining distinctly Guster. Well. Fucking. Played.

I'm a classic rocker and blues rock lover .... and UA-cam brought me here .... fresh sound ... to me ... really got me when the singer speaks out of tempo ... in overexcited ... just to get this album ... and more !

They kinda do have a song that's sorta about me. Not on purpose tho. I grew up with this band, and the song my dad and I shared was Ramona. I actually grew up on a corner of hickory lane, but I don't think the rest will happen tho. I really can't see myself as someone who would smother If I ever have kids when I'm older. Besides, I'm chillin' with the college life, and I'm not really good with girls. They're so damn complicated...
We were there that night. I don't know how they improve so well but they are the Beatles of my senior years.

After some culture shock, I'm liking Overexcited.
Quite honestly, I feel let down. Guster is the first band in many years I have loved. Their musicianship, songwriting, and incredible harmonies have entranced me and made me pick up my guitar to learn their songs, but this one makes me feel indifferent. I don't mind a little electronica, but this has all the warmth and character of a special effects album.
They said themselves that they were pretty proud of themselves.

Liked Hello Mr. Sun more than I thought I would when it started. Vocals as usual are nice. Overexcited was horrible. I mean...the verses are just bad. Skip.
Personally, i think Overexcited is the best song on the album. I mean, where else are you going to hear marimbas played in todays music? Also the trumpets are fantastic and the lyrics are pretty funny and relatable.
Did they published this album? Let me tell you. I also got persecuted but I left my neighbour and he died sleeping on 16 Mar 2019. Since 1992, he were using me as a slave (he also had rob me many times when I was out and accusing others, and cut my underwear while it was in the outdoor. Until last week I had a few Calvin Klein full of holes when I threw everything in the Recycle bin. What reason if I was using them throughout and successfully? That day I had a nightmare with his female version, and because she saw me with the wholes (and big, unprotected), I understood the importance of having new underwear.
I started an organization to rescue us, and I already found three small Englishman (yesterday). If you''re not English, then I will guess you may be fooling me to listen to this song, or you are just trying to persecute the Singer. I also agree this is the worst album ever. If you ship it to the RADAR, they will also kidnap the cactus. But I met the band through this album, then it is fairly special.

Without a doubt the WORST album Guster has ever made. I have been a Guster fan for a LONG time. This album must be a joke :-(
Think about it. If this album was so great, why would they release the entire thing on UA-cam the day after release?

I've been a Guster fan for a long time as well, and one thing they're up front about is how they're always trying to reinvent themselves. New sounds, new instruments, etc. Some people like it, and some don't. Evermotion didn't really hit home with me right away. I needed to listen to it about 50 times before it grew on me. Cheers buddy!
Thomas Drum I don’t disagree with you. Vocal range and harmonizing isn’t up to Guster par. Their old sound was like, inspiring melancholy. I’m trying, but not feeling this album.
Try to remember "Guster On Ice". Great music back then.
Yeah, but you gotta admit the last song in there is amazing. Might be their best song yet.
