I feel sorry for all the people who won't hear this song and this band. The rest of us can be happy we found a hidden gem
Lazy Sunday Music been a fan since i heard "careful" on the radio in the 90s. bought the album and loved it!
I thank Spotify's weekly playlist for showing me this song. My jaw dropped when this played in my car.
Been knowing this for some time, Radio Paradise once played it. It's a gem.
My brother played it his car heading back from a movie theater
Thing is, other people says the same thing on some other songs you don´t know. There´s a lot of music, a lot of art we are ignorant about.
Most underappreciated musical masterpiece ever.
Too true.
Much agreed.
I've read this comment in so many songs... It's not underappreciated, you and all of the people that listens to it appreciate it. It's appreciated by who needs to appreciate it.
lol
Alonso Zamarripa attempting to “correct” another’s opinion, positing your opinion as the truth is just absurd
I found this gem of a song during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Same man. A blessing in disguise. Everyone has more time to find new music.
Every time someone dear to me dies....like today....I binge this song Guster. The guitar in the middle crushes my heart with pain, yet uplifts. Thank you. "...the after life is ours in the end..."
Same here!
Ruby Falls is a 145 foot high underground waterfall located within Lookout Mountain, near Chattanooga, Tennessee in the United States.
I was wondering if this was about that
Chattanooga resident here... First time finding this song lol... Ruby Falls/Rock City is a couple of places on Lookout Mountain that somehow became world famous.. Their pretty neat spots, at Ruby you go down an elevator into a large and sprawling cave that has underground water falls.. Really neat and Rock City is famous for people writing SEE ROCK CITY on the side of red barns...Neil Gaiman based the ending off of it... Anymore Ruby falls questions? AMA LOL
So when all of Ruby Falls is singin along. That's the echo
Thank you, Spotify, for handing this to me right after a Tally Hall song. I love this band now.
I owe you one for introducing me to 'Tally Hall'. You've sent me spiraling down a happy rabbit hole.
I saw Tally Hall open for Guster in San Francisco. Amazing show! ❤
@@MasterMixDisaster It's been one hell of a rabbit hole. I'm happy to of landed with Hawaii: Part II by Miracle Music during covid. An absolute charm.
Just copied the lyrics from somewhere:
Tonight
Where do we go from here?
The road through Ruby Falls has reached the end
And now we're digging in the sand
They're promising that help is on the way
Love, confession number one
Impossible and sorry
And judge, can you look the other way?
Some things are best unsaid
And now where can we go from here
When all the morning birds have gone away
Two wrongs won't navigate tonight
The afterlife is all in the end
The afterlife is ours in the end
Love, don't look me in the eye
Just wash it all down
And judge, can you let me run away
We're outta here, straight outta here
Somewhere down buried in the sand
Two birds give out a song
And all of Ruby Falls is singin' along
Sing along...
First
One of the most unique and beautiful songs I've ever had the pleasure of hearing. I love how dynamic it is and yet the wildly different parts all flow effortlessly together. And the solo at the end, the guitar at the beginning and not to mention those awesome drum fills! Will most likely remain a favourite of mine for years to come.
Is it still your favorite in 2021
I particularly like that ride-cymbal oriented fill at 3:08 to 3:10.
Wow, I was really expecting to come back here after all these years and see this is one of those videos with 50 million views and the top comment is like "who's here in January 2019?" with 900 likes. Did people not listen to Guster? I thought everyone listened to Guster in high school.
Middle of high, just started listening after I found Satelite. So underrated I'm so glad I found it
I listened to them in college.
Same! I just rediscovered them and sent satellite to all my friends but no one recognized it!
hamburgerdog25 the perfect time to find them.
Why do I feel like this would make a great confinement special
Confinement fan! I'm with you, I think it would. It seems right up his alley too

I remember laying in bed when I was a teenager after sneaking out and making it back inside, and I would stare up at the ceiling in the dark and listen to this song and it would make me so emotional.. I’d feel tears rolling down my cheeks and down the sides of my face, I’d be so full of feelings. But I would fall asleep listening to this song. It’s such a vivid memory when I come back and listen to it. Such a gem.
The most under-appreciated Guster song! IMHO the ending sounds like paradise... love when they add a choir during live performances!
so underrated. smh
™
I don’t know why, but this song conveys the feeling of loss better than any other song I’ve ever heard
My name is also Jonathan, and this song came to mind when my fellow brother in arms just passed.
True friends are rare these days. Cherish them while they hold against the storm of time by your side.
The good ones never last, and the bad ones can't be shaken.
They finished the concert I went in Rochester playing this song. So powerful!!
SO under rated. Best song of all time.
I will always be so blessed for having my parents be music people. Years ago my dad played satelite again and it reminded me of my childhood so much that I couldn't stop looping it. Yesterday my dad played this, and I had no idea it was Guster.
Anyways, here I am. Looping it again.
Just found this song yesterday and haven't stopped listening to it. Bravo!
In the top three songs of my lifetime. Summer of ‘06 was it. E.M. I’m throwing it out to the ether, I hope your days are golden.
First time I heard it I was hooked. Checking back to hear it again tonight
Sometimes you have to get out of your comfort zone (musically speaking) and try bands you never heard of.
I wasn't sold on this band until the muted trumpet solo at 5:47.
You've got a new fan.
Hah, username buddies.
This is so close to how I'm feeling right now. What a year. Thanks Guster for illustrating it for me
Fddgjkerhhk?????!?!

What a great song! What is old is new again!
This morning on my way to work I was listening to Ruby Falls and it occured to me that had John Lennon not died, Guster probably would have been his favorite band.
Love, confession number one.
Great album ❤️
God this is amazing.
Wow this is awesome
I'm a huge death metal fan but I have a soft spot for this for some reason.

Anybody who likes this song should watch the Line Rider video for the song. They go together perfectly. It's super mesmerizing.
Great song...damn. I mish my ruby...my satellite...
Love this song. And for all wondering, the part at the end is a French horn, with trumpet adding in at the very very end with the trills
I miss the old music vid. I presume there was some sort of licensing thing? Even without, love this.

At 0:22 when they sing "The road to Ruby Falls has reached the end"... the tune reminds me of another song but I can't remember which one
Walter Gallego Gómez Its definitely a Beatles song but I cant think of which one
Any chance it's Emmylou by First Aid Kit?
As embarrassing as this is to say I heard this in the background of a porn and it stood out to me so much I had to find out what the song was and it was worth looking into
100.000th viewer YES
i doubt that.
I hate to break it to ya, but the number of views isn’t very accurate.
This is their magnus opus.
Charlotte.😢
Trumpet with a mute, not a French horn. The end is a trumpet with flutter tonguing.
