      o_MaSaKi_o Click the timeline options icon (four horizontal lines) on the top-right corner of the timeline panel and then click on “enable timeline shortcut keys” and then you should be able to go to the next/previous frame by simply clicking on your left and right arrow keys. :)

      Doesn't quite work for me, the arrows do nothing even when enabled... I tried to edit it in the Shortcuts options, but you can't have arrows as a shortcut, just Ctrl+something, which is very annoying. Any ideas? :)

    • @celestethoms

      In Layer, Video Layer - select insert blank frame. If you use that a lot make a hot key for it. Photoshop also has Video layers and Art layer. Art layer is more like individual frames and is easier to add/delete frames and animate of 2s, 3s, or 4s.

      @@samifilosa9348 Maybe the frames that were there were pushed away by the new layer you inserted. Everytime that happens I just shorten that new layer, and then I get to see the layers that I thought disappeared, but in reality they were again pushed off by the new inserted layer. It also depends on where you insert your new layer in the chosen video group.

      But I definitely agree

    • @CapraCorn2006
      @CapraCorn2006 3 роки тому +1

      @@lilal2612 I agree ... Krita's timeline works better for animating than Photoshop's timeline. If I use the forward and back arrow keys to go from frame to frame in Krita I am able to immediately draw on the frame . With Photoshop I have to stop, click on the frame to manually select that frame (layer) , then continue drawing. Then if I want to go back to the previous frame to draw on it again (or erase) I have to manually select it before I can draw on it. It's an interruption of the workflow. Every other timeline-based animation app allows you to draw on a frame immediately as soon as you've moved forward or back on the timeline (Harmony, TVPaint, Clip Studio Paint, Krita, etc.) .

    Thanks for the nice video!! I had a question on onion skinning. I'm using Photoshop to do a markup animation over an existing clip for changes to be made. Thus, I have one video layer with the footage and another blank video layer to do the markup. But when turning on onion skinning, it makes the reference video layer also dull/transparent? This makes it hard to see the onion skin of the drawings on the blank video layer.
    I need to keep the reference video layer on 100% opacity without any onion skinning and just onion skin the active video layer. Is there any way to do this?

    • @OlofStorm
      @OlofStorm  4 роки тому

      I don't think so as onionskin in Photoshop will not target specific layers but just the overall look of what's on the timeline

    • @TheDearRecorded
      @TheDearRecorded 4 роки тому

      @@OlofStorm wow! thanks for the super quick reply! Crap.. was hoping they would be some trick I was missing. Right now it onion skins everything so it becomes super hard to see. I could just toggle a solid color background but this doesn't help plan the movement without seeing the reference in the background.
      I also had another question: When do you use frame animation vs blank video layers? If I'm animating either way do I need to keep copy pasting my drawing from the previous frame to the next so I can adjust just the part I need? When I try copy/pasting like this in the video layer, it pastes the image somewhere else and is a headache each time to turn on onion skin and reposition it exactly where it needed to be.
      Or am I doing it totally wrong? :D Maybe you have a video on this already? I'll have a look :)
      Anywho, thanks again!!
      Edit Update: Just saw you did a video called 2D 3D combined - didn't you use onion skinning for this? 3d video in background while animating the 2d layer on top? That's sort of the same principle I'm trying :)

    • @OlofStorm
      @OlofStorm  4 роки тому

      @@TheDearRecorded i use video layers if I have a lot of movement and need animation for each frame, when you wanna copy something from one frame to another you must first select it with a selection tool and then after copying when pasting use shift, ctrl V to paste in place (that should paste it in the same spot). For onion skin maybe you can reduce the number of frames you show to make it less muddy and lower the opacity for the onion skin ( all done in onion skin settings).

      You can either export your image sequence from Photoshop or you can import the Photoshop project into After effects. As long as you have a timeline with a frame rate set it should recognise it in AE and use the same. You can either import the Photoshop project as footage or composition. Both works.

      For Ae you can just import the psd project. But you can also export it as a png sequence from Photoshop.

    What exact photoshop are you using? I have Elements 9 but I don't seem to have the timeline option in mine. I know there's a way to do it, but I can't seem to find it in my version...

    I’ve got a question. How do you make inbetween frames, if you need to make the animation smoother for instance?

    THIS. IS. INCREDIBLE. THANK YOU!!
    I do have one question, though. The only thing I'm struggling with is that when I make new layers, I KEEP ON accidentally making them normal layers instead of video layers! I just finished coloring in a hUGE detailed bit and then realized - ohno - it wasn't a video layer. Is there any way to convert normal layers to video layers?! Cuz if not, I think about 50% of my animation work just went down the drain 😂🥲

    • @OlofStorm
      @OlofStorm  3 роки тому +1

      You can merge down the normal layer onto the video layer you have below. It will add it to the frame you stand on. Happy its helpful

    Hello, I'm your subscriber.
    I was amazed and amazed at the work.
    My goal is to make such a graphic in the future.
    I don't know what you are saying because I am not good at English,
    There were a lot of things that were hard to understand from the tutorial. I will study English, too.
    If you look at my writing,
    I would appreciate it if you could tell me more about the process you worked on with Cinema 4d and Photoshop.
    There's one thing I'd like to ask you, if you really want to.
    C4d didn't put the object on the object, but I saw the colored process in Landerview. I don't know how.
    It's only in Landerview that you color.
    I've seen experts say that you're working with minimal data so your computer doesn't get overloaded, but I don't know how.
    And the process of making animation is really cool and amazing.
    Please continue to do good works and help me become more greedy! Thank you!
