Respect for Launch, I've been using it for 3 years, and I'm satisfied, but Auutel is also very good for support.

Great video as always. What is a benefit of using pure water instead of normal one in your opinion please

Even distilled water would be better than tap water or spring water as the hard minerals are still in the water and that wouldnt be that good for the inside of the car. The de iniozed stuff and say distilled water hasnt got the impurities and wont corrode the inside of the metal. Just a safer water to use.

    Hi there
I just want to ask can we use this cleaner on regular intervals to avoid these faults to happen in future. Just like when cheanging oil at 7000miles. Please advice.

I have this DPF cleaner but I haven’t used it yet - some people say that you shouldn’t wet the ash cos it then hardens and is harder to remove down the line?

I've watched a few of your videos now and you always put the cleaning fluid down the pressure sensor hose.I've watched other people using cleaning solutions but they tell you to take the temperature sensor out of the exhaust and pour it in there. Does it matter where you put cleaning solution in?

My dpf light has come on 3 times in the last month or so but gone of when driving down a dual for a while should i use that launch flow restorer in with the fuel or do a proper clean like you have here? Thanks.great videos as always.

If it's not putting on the engine management light you could try flow restorer first as it much easier and cheaper.

Hi, does this launch fluid clear out Ash load aswell as soot?

    • @ORileysAutos
      @ORileysAutos  2 роки тому +3

I can give you my view and what I have found.
Ash accumulates in the DPF over extended use, as the incombustible material left behind following filter regeneration and soot oxidation. The ash consists of various metallic compounds originating from lubricant additives, trace elements in the fuel, and engine wear and corrosion products.
The above statement is correct for what is called Final Ash. After the contamination has been burnt up this is what is left behind during the normal operation of the DPF. Cutting open a DPF reveals a super hard coal type of solid at the back. It is a combination of what has previously burnt and is very hard almost unbreakable. You can see that it has been exposed to very high temperatures and can withstand any amount of heat. Taking the DPF off and washing it through will do nothing to it. Some argue that the very biggest pressure DPF cleaners may remove some as it forces through the perforations and knocks some out. But, generally it will not be dislodged.
This builds up very slowly. Final Ash can be at the back of the DPF taking up some room but the DPF is still serviceable and works fine. If the DPF has been re-generated many times, often by forced regeneration, this causes more Final Ash to build. Most Silicon-Carbide DPF's have a serviceable life of around 250,000 miles. At that point, you may have a DPF that is nearly half filled with Final Ash and then it is un-serviceable. This is rare, because of the amount of mileage needed to build this much up.
This is not to be confused with loose ash formation, which is an ash created by the burn procedure. For instance, the wrong oil is used, which is not low SAPS (Sulphated Ash, Phosphorous and Sulphur.) During the burn process, oil is dragged up from the sump, burns in the cylinder and Sulphated Ash is formed. This fills a DPF very quickly, is not hard like Final Ash and can be removed, once the incorrect oil is changed or the problem fixed.
Please ask any further questions that you may have and if I know the answers I will help.

I have ordered me a Bottle directly fro. Launch UK the gun stuff, i domt have the gun and am bot spending the Money on it. So i have a funnel and im gokng to pour it in to the pressure sensor pipe through a funnel, well go fur your method of half of it while the car is off, let it sit for half an hour, then turn on the car run it through and then pour the rest of it in while it is Running. The greenline dpf fabia had egr all blocked up, cleaned that oot and changed the pressure sensor for the sske of it, rhe exhaust needed a bit of a fixing aswell, and bow the coil light and dpf light is going off when starting the car, but soon as drive it the coil light and the dpf light come on. So going to clean it and see if this will fix the problem. Then i use Hydra DPB 100 every time i fill up, thats a fuel cleaner and it prevents the DPF from blocking up. Also travel about 30 odd miles up motorway and back atleast once a week. So that should help. The Joys of notoring. Glad i came across you O Riley. Apreciate the service you are providing, helping the common man to fix his car with your videos. The Lord bless you for service you have been providing and Thanks.

Don't think you'll get the fluid on while the engine is running without a pressurised gun the exhaust pressure would push it back out

@@ORileysAutos worth a try indeed. I have the Bottle and this will be the first crack at it bud, so if it doesnt work, Then i will get the Gun. Just dont have funds Available at this present time to get a pressurised gun set up. But i sure want to give it a crack and try and get something done to it. The good thing with that Launch UK is getting the 2 cars done with the 1 bottle.
