SOLVED-BRAKE LAMP BULB FAULT-2013-2019 Ford Escape-10 Minute Bulb Replacement for $5

A "Brake Lamp Bulb Fault" came on in my wife's 2016 Ford Escape. After the repair in the video, the "Brake Lamp Bulb Fault" dash indicator went off. The repair took about 10 minutes. I left most of the video unedited, because it was a little tough removing the taillight assembly (you need a little strength and need to be careful not to break the two attachment tabs). Hi. I just completed this on my Ford Escape 2013 model. The trick to removing that light assembly, is watch the video and try to locate the approximate spot where the white tab is, under the narrow pointy bit. Push down on there first, then gently push against the back raised section. It will literally glide out. Found that out by accident.

Thanks for showing that white clip! Spent way too long yesterday on a 2013, gave up because of the cold. At least I know exactly where that clip is when I go back to it today.

If you have one stick a small suction cup on light...the kind used to work on cell phones..pull straight back and for me anyway it came right off.

If both lights are out check fuse f21 in engine bay fuse box .
2 Brevard county dealers told me I had to buy complete taillight assembly 470.00.

That's something you'd expect from a dealer they don't call em stealer dealer for nothing
I got Ford Escape 2013, I’ve change the bulb, but still showing bulb fault.

I had this problem too. I found out that the bulb clicks not once but twice to fully seat the bulb then it worked.

This could be a no brainer job if it wasn't for the that spring clip. Took me a few more minutes to remove the rear light because of it.

I left my clips off afterward ...not messing with that again
On my Ford escape it looks different and I've replaced the turn signal light and the little tiny one at the top but I don't see a bulb for the brake light Do you know why mine is different
I am not sure why yours is different. The top/larger bulb is for the brake and runing lights. The smaller bottom one is for turn signals.
@@Hipiam My brake light is not a bulb It was an LED panel and it was corroded so I had to buy a whole tail light 😭

hey guys i fixed my neighbors 2017 ford escape. on her car she had one small bulb at top( running lights), the middle one is an amber color (blinker light) now for the actual break lights it has 3 led light that come on a mother board . and all that was corroded due to the cheap plastic assembly. since there is no way to get to the break light led what i did was made a hole,clipped the wires and shoved a regular break light bulb and it worked. she saver 700 dollars

@@Hipiam If you forget or accidentally touch the bulb, you can clean it with methylated spirits. (This is standard procedure with halogen light installation)
i REPLACED THE BULD FOR THE BRAKE LIGHT AND DIDNT FIX MY PASSENGER BRAKE LIGHT FAULT.
