The song was used in the Disney movie moana, it may help you in finding a rough translation( if you're a non native English speaker especially). They sang the first part in the native language in the movie, but then switched to English for the rest of it. I'm sure the english version is not 100% accurate in it's translation, but should get the idea.

God I loved this scene in the movie. Absolutely electric. The sequence, the song, these people just epitomize the human spirit of exploration and adventure. To reflect on the knowledge that thousands of years ago they conquered such a vast and hostile ocean in these canoes and catamarans... it's breathtaking. Mad, mad respect for one of the greatest achievements in human history.

Proud to be the Pacific Islander from Molo'uku, Indonesia. Molo'uku or Maluku is West Melanesian Archipelago of the Pacific ocean but, sometimes I think we have a very strong connection with other Polynesian people as well. I watched so many videos from Hawai'i, Tahiti, Aotearoa and Samoa then I found that we have a bunch of similarities in Language, Culture, Carving, Arts, Myths, and Habits.

I have always been fascinated by languages all over the world, especially those that have been around for thousands of years. They all sound like some kind of elvish to my ears, so pure and so charming.
If I had a wish, I would wish to be able to fluently speak every language that had came into existence since the beginning of time.
