Thank you for your service haha. I've always wanted to extract an intact air unit, but until I find a way of dissolving the midsole without harming the air bag, I guess I'll just have to wait decades for the midsole to crumble.
Lol. Thank you, bro. Yeah, I had to wait for the 8s to crumble before I took out the air units. With these 4s, I found it easy to cut open so I should have an easy time of getting the air unit out of the other shoe. I was actually gonna take one out of some old j7s. They're easy to do as the air unit is basically just under the insole. I'll do that soon. But yeah, I've always loved digging out the tech once the shoe is ruined. I did it with many of my Reebok pump shoes. Cheers Duncan.🙌
Love it! When I was a kid, every time my sneaks were beyond repair, the knife would come out and I would try salvage the air units. It's great looking at the technology on hand!

Yeah, rediculous resell value on the last retro of these. I'd love a new pair, but I'm not getting ripped off. I'll wait until they release again. Actually they are coming back, sort of. The same shoe will be releasing, but it won't say nike air on the back, it will have the nike SB branding instead. 🙌
The memorial service for the shoes will be next Sunday at 12pm. I had planned on Schofield doing the eulogy, but I'm gonna have to find someone else to do it. 😂🙌
A nice clean cut there Randy mate 👍🏻 , shame you couldn't fix them like, you certainly know your trainers dude, cool vid! Very interesting half trainer 👌🏻 😊
oh wow!! 😮 this was cool always wondered how it looked . that sucks you couldn't restore them . at least you tried and gain some experience from it . i did a video showing the inside of a air jordan 12 but still haven't dropped it . i don't know why i haven't i will now . ✊️🙏
Yes!!! Drop the video. I never seen the inside of the 12s before. Yeah, definitely not worth the restoration after the nubuk on the upper cracking all over.🙏🏻👊
It's kinda mind blowing to see what people pay for when it's out in the open like this 👌👌 Used a kitchen knife, eh? When are you gonna make a sneaker sandwich and post a video?? 😂😂 And before I forget... brother, brother, brother, brother, brother!!
@@TheRetroManRandySavage No bad man just loads on but this is a blindin summer to be fair (could do with some rain actually lol) but yeah decent bro thanks for askin
Hey Feral. I just used a steak knife from the kitchen. I've got an old bandsaw, but I couldn't get to it. Too much stuff in the way. This was an easy job though. Sliced through it with ease.🙌
@@TheRetroManRandySavage The engineers spirit! I have that too but my thing is tearing open pieces of old tech, to see what makes em tick. Nope there is an *actual* doodad there with air bits in. Well I live and learn :D My fanboyism of Nike is well founded.
@@DailyCorvid the tech in some Reebok pump models are even better. I took out some auto pump air bladders. They pump up as you walk. They have a smart value that let's air in after five steps. It also has a dial switch for PSI settings. Awesome stuff. I had a Macintosh in the 90s. I wouldn't even know where to begin taking that apart. I haven't got the smarts for that, unfortunately.😂🙌
@@kenn82draw yeah, they're getting to that age where you have to decide whether to wear them or sell them. I hated the paint job on these. They cracked within a month of first wearing them. 🙌
@@kenn82draw yeah, I heard of the 3s from that time having issues. Thankfully my fire red and white cements are holding up ok. Especially the fire red. I've seen used ones up on Ebay and everyone of them cracked all over the midsole.

this reminds me of taking apart an old pair with the pump as a kid to see how it all worked sometimes morbid curiosity wins
Much more satisfaction taking apart some Reebok pumps. 😂🙌
Very fascinating! That split shoe would look cool in a shadow box display on the wall.👍👍
That's actually a good idea.
I actually save all my old sneaker technology so might put them in some kind of display case too.
