I live in north central NC about two hours away from these mountains in my youth mother told us how our granpa loved to visit the mountains after I married my wife and I have made countless trips there over the years we love the area so much! I know now why grandpa loved the mountains so! The hills just grab you and won't let go. I love my home, but the mountains are also very dear to my heart, one of the most beautiful places I've seen!

Maybe things would be different today had the Indians aligned with the Winners instead of the Losers. It so often depends on such... Trump 2020.!

Figured that out by the time I was 8-10 yrs old. That was 1980ish. I figured out real quick that as long as you did as you were told, you got to whatever they wanted you to do the way they wanted you to do it. We’re conditioned to accept the lie of freedom at a very early age. Few figure that out until it’s too late.

That's really cool to hear a quote from Dragging Canoe, i just recently found out I am related to his nephew Young Tassel.
Young Tassel lead the Chickamauga against the Colonies during the revolutionary war.

Back then the only ones able to understand the Tribes were Gaelic (Irish/Highland Scots), who had the same complicated Clan System the tribes had. This was fact especially in eastern Canada where some Gaels and MiqMaw,(of New Brunswick/Nova Scotia), spoke each others languages and got along quite well.

The City of Kings Mountain is located in North Carolina and takes its name from the historic battle. The Kings Mountain range can be seen from I-85, however the battle didn't take place on the larger mountain. The battle occurred eight miles south, on "Little Kings Mountain" in SC. Interestingly, when the battle took place, it was thought to be in NC. Survey issues, due to both human error and scientific anomalies, caused the confusion. Here's a brief article on it: www.southcarolinahistoricalsociety.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/troublesome-boundaries.pdf

Battle of Kings Mtn. was in North Carolina, not South Carolina. Just FYI.

      Yes it is...
Close to the State line with SC, and in the foothills of the Southern Appalachians. 100 MI from Tenn, and less to the GA line.
The Overmountain men were from WNC and E Tenn.
During the Revolution Tenn was NC.
NC stretched all the way to the Mississippi.

6:10.....The main reason there were social troubles after the revolution was the fact that the ideas of Thomas Paine and the Enlightenment,(which were just used by Washingtons clique) were dumped as soon as London quit the fight. But the Washington clique didnt want things too change too much, and Thomas Paine and his native friends and Paines book, "The Rights Of Man", were abandoned to the wolves.

the quote of A K McClure is very misleading, all the other quotes are dated, his is not why? Because he was writing long after the events and placing his own bias.
Fact is they never did refer to themselves as scots or scotch anything. they labelled themsleves as Irish.
    www.sceala.com/phpBB2/irish-forums-25846.html
This picks up on the quote in this vid about Robert Fallon.
