Hi Levi, I've been trying to put John Mayall's "It Hurt Me Too" into Guitar Pro 7.5 for years, but it's not working very well (timing, vibrato, pull offs and special characters). Can you make a video about how you can enter all the characters exactly or explain how you can enter all these characters. I want to buy Guitar Pro 8, but I'm surprised you can't simply input an MP3 file or video to create a Tab.
Hi Levi. Thanks for all the guitar pro videos. Very useful for a newb like myself. Is it possible to make the line line that shows where you are in the track thicker? And can the highlighted bar colour be changed? I have difficulty seeing them from a distance due to poor vision. Thanks.
Why am I not able to export MIDI tracks (particularly synth tracks) when exporting Guitar Pro 8 files to Audio files? It always says I have to use the RSE, which doesn't have the synth sounds I want. This is a great conundrum, as I have just written my personal masterpiece, but cannot properly burn it onto a CD to jam in my car player. Like in the olden days. 🤘
how can i download guitar music that i have on my computer to my GP8 that i have installed on my computer i use this strictly learnig the guitar thanks for you reply
Hey levi great guide am seriously considering purchasing this but i want to know i mostly use spotify/apple music as my platform for music on windows so is there a way to import the tracks from there into guitar pro 8 so you can practice along with them ? thought id ask before i go ahead and purchase it
hi levi, thanks for great video . did they fix the cursor animation ? i mean the animation that shows in playback beat to beat . i like how Songsterr shows , do they have new option ?thanks
Hallo! Long time transcriber and new GP user here. The software is now awesome in this version! Thanx for the thourough and cristalline clear tutorials. I'd have a question: can repetitions somehow be used on single tracks, without affecting the others? For instance if with the 1.track (Gtr1) I have the same 4 bars repeating themselves 4 time and on the 2. track (bass) 16 different (not repeating) bars, is there a way to manage that without be forced to avoid repetitions on the first track too? Second question: is there a way to hide empty staves during the playback of the tab in multitrack view? They would be minor issues anyway, but who knows, maybe a solution is already there and I could'nt find it yet...
@@LeviClay Thanx for the reply! That's a pity. I guess the second problem could be solved very easily and it's sort of annoying. Let's just hope it will solved soon. I am honestly more annoyed by the first one. This issue happens to spoil totally my motivation to transcribe multiple tracks. Repetitions and directions provide elegance and readibility to transcriptions (I am sure you will agree on that). Not being able to use that on a guitar track just because something minor on the other tracks slightly and continuously changes in the song (for example drums fills, keys arrengements etc) is bad, I hate it! :( With the audiotrack features it becomes a minor issue anyway form: I'll probably end up in trascribing just one guitar track (or maybe two), then creating an audio backing track with all the other instruments and then incorporating it on the GP-project. Cheers! Luca
Hi Levi. Am I right in thinking that there is no way to enter notes as notes? For those of us who are classically trained and read notes much better than tab this seems to be a real short coming in the software. If I can't enter notes directly then I might as well stay with Finale.
I have guitar pro 7 and I was thinking, can I write a piece in reaper with midi, then import that into guitar pro and it will tab it out? This may have been explained by yourself but I've not seen it. Cheers.
I usually do my own transcriptions with GPro7. So this sounds interesting. But how painful is it to align the audio to the BPM? In their own promotional vid, you can see that they had to tweak the BPM on almost every bar to sync the audio with the tab.
Nice, I emailed them about adding imbedded audio and progressive loop tempo increments back in September 2020. Didn’t think they’d implement it, this is great l can’t wait to upgrade. 😃
This would work great if the transcriptions available to download were accurate like yours are. I found that most were not which I think is why guitar pro never really caught on to its full potential. If people could buy transcriptions that were 100% accurate it would be one of the best tools out there for learning solos.
people literally can buy tabs that are 100% accurate. That's my job. Guitar Pro themselves push their "My Songbook", officially licensed transcriptions done by actual pros (I used to do them!) right there in the app. Not to mention the many 100s, if not 1000s of transcriptions I've done for artists. The only way you'd have a point is if what you really mean is the FREE transcriptions uploaded by people who can't make a living doing it were accurate, you'd be happy.
@@LeviClay You sound negative and took it the wrong way. You don’t know how or what would me happy. I said I’d pay for transcriptions.. SMH. I revisited the program today however and it’s not that good. Best way to learn is by ear. Use a wav file editing programs and slow down the music to figure it out. Tabs are lame anyways.
I'm sorry. I was using GP5 all my life and was really looking forward to the latest version to fix problems of the other versions of 6 and ongoing. But it just sucks in so many ways and I tried hard. For me GP5.2 is still the way to go. I don't know if all the UA-camrs never laid hands on GP5 so they don't know any better. It's getting worse if you try to integrate a bend. In the old version You could grab every piece of the bar. But in 8 your limited to some preset parameters.
@@LeviClay :) Yeah, but I also bought 8 and it is worse. The only improvement is the drum notation. But that shouldn't be a highlight nowadays. But if it works for you it's fine.
@@meister1481 I appreciate that you admitted it. I don’t believe you still, I could list off 50 things you literally can’t do in 5. But that’s why transcribing bought my house, and you’re over there pirating.
I hope in the next update you can do multitrack audio as well! Would be awesome being able to solo specific instruments with a tab as well
Agree completely
Thanks!
Very useful Levi, thanks. I might try that fast lick at 25% and work my way up to 35% 😆

I know what you’re asking. Guitar pro isn’t a magic bit of software that will make tabs for you.
I have been trying for ages to try and work out how to connect my midi keyboard to Guitar Pro, could you please show us how to do it please ?
Very useful,Can you take out guitar solo, from youtube,?And write it like tabs?

no, unfortunately you'd need the track locally. Download from youtube and use that.

How could I create tabs from a you tube video?
Learn how to transcribe. There’s no magic button.

you can enter notes as notes, just click the staff
Hi Levi, Can you play MIDI keyboard tracks directly into Guitar Pro 8 with automatic scoring?
Hi, what is the best way to use RipX and guitar pro together to mute the guitar and only read the guitar tabs?
Guitar pro isn’t a magic program that just turns music into tab. You know that right?
I have guitar pro 7 and I was thinking, can I write a piece in reaper with midi, then import that into guitar pro and it will tab it out? This may have been explained by yourself but I've not seen it. Cheers.
You can, but the fingering may well be questionable
What about the mobile app for iphone, can it play the audio tracks to?
No, it’s a completely different program
Hi I'm really wondering if it has change pitch feature to the audio track thanx
the Pitch shift-function affects not only the score, but also the added audio track, so, yes, it has
@@dtrule1228 eyeah i already know that its a 3month old question.. thnx though

no way to show sweep pick with dotted line in gp 8?
No
Does this work on iPad

If the track was recorded to a click, it’s a breeze, other wise it can be a bit fiddly
great video .. what the name of the song ?
Very interesting. Will give it a try.
ps. Does anyone know the name of the track that this solo is from?
It was a video Roy posted on Facebook yesterday. The video was called rules are meant to be broken

Do you offer lessons for a beginner?
All lessons are done via my Patreon page now, so you have to get one when there’s a slot available
Hey Levi, I've got a few of your Fundamental Changes books. Do you, by any chance, also sell guitar pro files to go with the books?
I don’t, it’s a copyright/piracy nightmare
I've been using guitar pro since 5.2 and i still havent learnt how to use it properly

Where are you based?
Outside Glasgow
great info - suddenly all those GP files are far more useful for learning

The G clef - being in G flat is useless. Not a great tool for sheet music in this example.
