- Hey guys finally an actual tutorial of how I paint on my denim jackets. All the questions I’ve been getting about the jackets, I answered on this video. This is not really a painting video but more likely an introduction of how you can paint on your own jacket. I hope this video helped some of you who are looking for answers. And I hope that y’all are creating art . Send me photos if you guys ever did paint your jackets.
if you guys have any questions or suggestion feel free to leave it in the comment section below.
I accept constructive criticism but hate will not be tolerable.

Do you have a Depop?? People would buy your pieces in a heartbeat!! I know I would!!!
Hi! Your video is great and very instructive 😁 I have a question because before watching your tutorial, I painted some stuff on a jean and I waterproofed it with a product I use for my ski clothes, what kind of result will I get? I guess it won't come off but I don't want to have bad surprises 😂
Thanks 😊
Rain Mang can i use a sealer afterwards. Like a mod modge fabric. For the shine.
I have a question I make paintings on my jackets and now people order it BUT there are people who say like: how did you do it I also want to do it, or they say: you do not have to make it for me I'll do it myself just tell me how.. I am an artist, I love creating I create poems and pictures and paintings and stuff and I do NOT want anyone to copy me. I am not yet making really money with this because I am still working on making sure I give out good quality. But in the meantime when I where my painted clothing people might (try) copy me... WHAT can I do against this and also what do you say to someone who basically asks you if they can copy you?!
Hi RAIN could you list the name of the acrylic swatches you sampled on the denim ?
Me and my mom are both artists and whenever I say I'm not satisfied with how it turns out she always tells me all artists feel that way. It's the artist curse.
Elizabeth Walker omggg tell me about it. I’m the exact same way
i know right
*sees the word satisfied*
.....*inhale* hE wIlL nEvEr Be SaTiSfIeD, i WiLl NeVeR bE sAtIsFiEd!
Elizabeth Walker true!
I thought I was just being hard on myself, but finally you give name to my illness , thank you lol 😂
Me, painting on a canvas: *gets acrylic paint on jeans* It's gonna go out after one wash
The acrylic paint: I will never leave your jeans ever again. Never.
Stefanie Maria wait I just painted my jeans only with acrylic and I’m scared to wash them. Does it actually stay on??
@@taylora9193 I never painted on jeans (yet) but every time I got it on my jeans it stayed on perfectly 😂
Yeah. I did that to my fave shirt D;
@@taylora9193 it won't wash off depending on the acrylic you use.
I worked with nothing but charcoals and soft pastels for a long time - I would emerge from an art sesh just completely covered in the mediums and (being powdery) would always wash right out. I got so used to it, wiping my hands on my shirts, pants etc while working. Did it once with acrylic not even thinking about it until I realized the paint would never wash out...20 washes later lol.
when painting a darker fabric you can just paint your surface white first, then the colours should be more vibrant
Really u think so. I hope. Because i wear a lot of black. I guess it shoulf be opaque acrylic. I mix it with gouache when i paint on canvas. I wonder if it works on textile as well? I mean gouache is more pigmented (though yes more expensive) do u think several layers of white is required? Becsuse i get this feeling it will be transparent.
H. Anouka omg thanks I needed that
Thank u UwU
@@myfragilelilac Just put a thick layer of 2 parts acrylic and 1 part textile medium on the dark fabric and it works like a charm :)
Exactly!
You can also paint on a scrap pair of denim then sew it instead of canvas
He actually did mention that.
Those jackets are soooo bomb. Please make a Depop so people like me who can’t art very well can buy your amazing designs!!
I just discovered you like five minutes ago and I just want to let you know that you are insanely amazing.
Laila Mitchell
Exactly!

i take commissions and the price is not fixed. i charged based on how long a piece take
Your videos are so soothing! When homework gets overwhelming I just sit and watch. It doesn't distract me to much but does a good job at relaxing me!
I am planing to paint a jacket and gift it and there's comes in the panicking and wishes of it turning out perfect, this video is probably the best one yet on teaching how to do it + do's & don't's! I love it!
Mini Lulu yay. I want to see.!!!!
@@rainmang9571 By all means, I'll follow you on Instagram and share the photo of how the jacket turned out? If yes, of course!
Same
same~
I really appreciate how you talked about plagiarism because I feel like a lot of people don’t really understand the difference between that and inspiration. ♥️
5:21 such a creative idea😍
And all those painted jackets looking so gorgeous:)
just started watching your videos and i'm already in love, your artwork is incredible!
Love this it’s such a cool way to personalize my denim jeans.
I love that idea of painting on another medium and then stitching it onto the leather jacket. I love that stitch too. This is dope! Your work is dope! Thanks for the tutorial!
A note to add to the adding of textile medium to the paint.. I work with acrylic paint and use my pants as a towel if I get paint on my hands and it eventually cracks and flakes off. So it is very important to use the medium and also setting it with the iron is super important I am guessing.
Impressive art Rain! Good luck in your endeavors!
thank you so much for this video and actually reading the comments and putting in the effort to answer them, i really wanted this kind of information of how to wash, and dry it in actuality and detail- thanks again
Pa7NaSS you’re welcome ❤️❤️
Thank you so much! I really needed these answers. Now i can finally get the stuff i need and paint my first denim jacket.😊

Your channel need a raise my man your instructions are the best i was literally 2min into the video and subscribed to your channel and i really don't subscribe people until i find them worth it...also your work is great...
If you don't have a textual medium you can use mog pog it holds the paint longer 💖
Do you use it as a top coat? Or mix with the paint?
I would not unless it says specifically its for fabric. Mod podge will deteriorate with water and wear, probably heat too.
Thank you very much for all these helpful and very clear advices. This is exactly what I was looking for !
You made so many important points. Also your artwork is great, I'm really inspired now.

Awesome idea about cutting canvas adding it to fabric!!
Watch out for what ever substance is binding it - very interesting topic.
I really enjoyed this. Thank you very much for charing. :D
this helped me so much tysm for making this.
NOTE:
Denim is made out of Cotton...
Cotton is Fiber... not a fabric
That is why someone people call themselves a Fiber Artist...
They paint on Fiber: Silk, Cotton, Linen, Wool...
(I think there is one more)

Bro that flower Jean jacket is dope!
Love your work😍
So cool, thanks for this!!!
Apple Barrel is NOT going to stay on fabric. Apple Barrel acrylic paint is great for painting and doing nail art, but NOT for painting fabric
Simonne
Oh, fortunately (or un, depends on What i’d use the paint for) we don’t Have Apple Barrel in Poland😂
Do you have any suggestions for a product would work better?
Nooooo I painted my jacket with this before I saw this video
If you use a fabric medium does it work?
incorrect, watch any of Paul Cantu's denim jacket/jean customizations. He uses apple barrel in most of them and it works just fine, he likely mixes it with gac 900 or some other fabric medium
Thaank youu, i really needed to see this kinda video🙏
Your an amazing artist!

Be encouraged there isn’t an artist alive who is completely satisfied with there work. 🤗 It is because we are an artist and are always striving for excellence. But yes being satisfied and with to make mistakes is key. 🤗
