These little guys started my home theater. Not sure how cool they are now but 7 years ago i was blown away at what these offered. Now i have around 100000 worth of theater, all starting with an 80 dollar projector.
I started with a DIY projector that i made then worked my way up to a budget projector, That was 20 years ago. Budget projectors can surprise you for sure.
This a damn good projector i bought 2 of them one for the living room and one for the bedroom, the sound on these is pretty awesome you can use it as a sound bar if you wanted i tested mine with a bit of drum and bass and its sounds really good plenty of bass and the little sub in the middle is a real speaker not one of those fake passive vibration ones and it outputs a decent low bass also you can really crank up the volume on these without distortion at high levels.
I read through the 1 star comments on Amazon and many people have reported a brown lens stain after 3-6 months of regular use. Sort of sounds like a defect.
This is exactly what I was wondering when I first got into projectors a couple months ago... I figure I just want the most bang for my buck, and I don't need ANYTHING other than basic HDMI input etc .. I couldn't find anything, but I honestly don't think there is one... They're just so inexpensive to add in (at least the smart crap) and they know it adds so much value proposition to most (senseless) consumers that they may as well out it in... I'm just waiting to get the money to save up and then I'll buy something really nice in the used market...
@@hometheatergurus Fantastic! Which models do 4k and dolby vision? I am in a limited space with no light control possible, so probably an ALR screen will be needed. I'd love short throw too.

Good informative video
Is the image size only affected by distance to the wall? Or can you use keystone or something with the optics to make the screen size smaller?
When connected to a sound bar does the sound bar and actual projector speaker sound play or is it “either/or”

If I got a 120inch screen will be good filling it? Or you think the image will be smaller..
It'll do great at 120" with the lights off.
How do I make the picture to 120?
Are there any "dumb" projectors? Stripped down, does not have audio (I have a receiver), and doesn't have "smart" garbage (I have an nvidia shield).

ALL serious projectors don’t have apps. Only entry level projectors being marketed as “smart projector”.
@@DavidSusiloUnscripted What price point do the serious projectors start?
Hey Frosted, you'll want to look at Benq or Epson for entry level dedicated projectors.
