She won over 60 w100m Consecutively! Can U name any athlete who has done that?
Only two women ran faster at 60m than she did. Ottey held the Indoor 200m record for decades!

@@FindingTheTruthMinistry man. Wasn't about steroids. American athletes weight trained and they were lagging the Eastern Europeans n Soviets.
Caribbean athletes didn't use weights. The thinking was that weights slowed one down n U became "muscle bound." Up to today there are many who believe that women shouldn't lift weights!
After Caribbean athletes were recruited to American Colleges, the perspective changed. Now everyone weight trains. Did U notice the high school athletes at the Carifta games? It is apparent that the Ja high schoolers r lifting weights n that combined with natural talent make for superb performances.
U needn't wonder how those U17 n U20 records keep falling. The circumstances r different now than they were 30, 35 yrs ago.
Must have felt lonely for Merlene, she almost alone against the best Germans, Soviets n Americans.
Appreciate that Merlene kept the Jamaican flag flying for decades!

Felix had horrible start which caused her silver. VCB was fourth in Jamaican 100m trial so she ate this 200m race with personal best of 21.74 similarly Felix was fourth in US 100m trails so she ate 200m US trails (21.69) and got gold in 2012. When Felix used to be world champion in 200m, VCB used to be Olympic champion. The moment (2011) VCB became world champion immediately 2012 Felix became Olympic champion. I feel they were the best designed as opposites of same coin who were born to rule 200m from 2004 to 2012.

From the legendary Merleen Ottey, Veronica Campbell Brown through to the current phenomenon that is ShellyAnne Fraser Pyrce... It's beautiful to see & hear from the gracious, elegant always classy Allyson Flexi, so many titles, so many record's & medals, yet she still feels the pain of the loss but gives full credit to her rival by not making it at her loss but about VCB's win

What were you watching? Ato Bolden did most of the talking and he went on and on about how dominant VCB has been and that Felix didn't have a chance after that first 100m. He spent 2 mins after the race talking about how great Veronica was. What's going on in your head homie? And Ato's Caribbean so how does he look hating on anyone from the islands?

@@gmaxsfoodfitness3035 , of course he talked about VCB-OBVIOUSLY because of her stellar accomplishments and because she' a beast on the field. If he didn't, it would have have been VERY odd! Even so, all I was hearing was Felix- even after the race was done and VCB won the race- and how she could have done better (even though Felix herself said she was ready and 100% fit). I cringed when they were talking! Go back again and listen the commentators BEFORE you argue with me!!!

By your (il)logic then, the winner should never be interviewed because he/she's "busy collecting flowers and running with their country's flag." Really?
