You asked questions. I answered. Check out the next Data Merge video where we export to individual files, add links and put multiple merges on 1 page. Watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/P2GKIDe4AiI/v-deo.html
Great video and well explained -- really enjoyed it and learned a lot about the data merge with documents. After your video I was able to use this funktionality of Affinity in a professional way.
I bought this software specifically to do this. First project 26 columns and 100 lines. Woof. All in all though, money and time WELL spent. Doing it by hand would have been nuts considering they keep changing the the values on me.
Great tutorial! Is it possible then to batch export each page as its own file? So in your example, instead of a PDF with all the pages together, each one as an individual jpg.
Great video, Ryan. I've been using Affinity and the precursors (Serif suite) for years and it's great. I make low content books and the data merge is brilliant for planners, diaries and prompt journals. I was holding off buying V2 because, for what I need, V1 does it all. But I think I'll take advantage of the universal license offer they have on at the moment- Publisher, Designer and Photo for £89- because I'm sure there'll be new features in the future that won't appear on V1. Subbed, by the way!
Great job Ryan, quick and helpful! Is there a way to export each individual page? you mentioned making business cards, which is what I'd like to do. How do you automatically export each one of those individual cards as a png or jpg? thank you again
The Data Merge also works with the Frame Text Tool. You can use the frame text tool to keep your text within a given area instead of extending in one long line. The process is the same for linking the object and the text.
Does anyone know if this also works for tables? So instead of creating X amount of pages, it populates fields in a table based on a changing Excel spreadsheet. I have a lot of data that updates regular and since i want it to look good, i need to import it into publisher so i can print it into a pretty booklet. Everything i've seen so far results in a lot of manual labor. I wonder if it's just me or if that's actually not possible.
What row does your information for the trading cards start? It should have a heading in row 1 and the information starting on row 2. If you’re still having a problem, I’d have to look into it.
@@RyanTuscher think kind of like a classified ads section in a newspaper. A lot of items with various text, fonts, one right after the other, with equal spacing between them. Thanks

Thanks for the useful video. I've just opened the Published for the first time and wondered how to import CSV data.

Thank you! I'm glad to hear you were able to utilize the video!
Oh my lord almighty, thank you so much. This was immensely helpful.

Hello, thank for your video, it's very useful. Do you know if are there any Affinity API and what functions can they do?

Thank you, how will I go about preserving the text box size if i want the generated text to stay within a specific area?

Can the value be a local path to an image?

Excellent video.
As an aside, Affinity's inability to work with Google Sheets without export makes me want to scream.
"Hope your 2023 resolutions are going great"
.....I feel attacked in 2024
It’s ok HAHAH! I didn’t complete my 2023 resolutions, I rolled them over to this year!
can you use http: links in the data merger function
How many 2023 resolutions do you still have going?
I followed the guide for making trading cards.. however whenever I have more than 1 row with details, all the others just copy the first?
What row does your information for the trading cards start? It should have a heading in row 1 and the information starting on row 2. If you’re still having a problem, I’d have to look into it.
Are you trying to data merge with multiple trading cards per page?
Is it possible to create a data merge where the information goes into a text box on same page?
Can you explain this a little more? Do you want two rows on the same page or just more information from the same row?

Wow
Why are you wearing headphones?
Most of the time at my desk I am playing games so in this video I kinda just forgot I didn’t need them. Hahahah
