That dry shaving is for the birds, my guy. You do such great and detailed work and it's ironic that you're missing such a simple and traditional step in your shaving process when you don't prepare the hair and face for the razor. The razor is your only tool that exfoliates the skin so making sure to properly soften the skin, stiffen the hairs, and desensitize the skin is essential to a safe and comfortable shave. You can see your client's skin in this video is blotchy red and clearly irritated. Even doing your preliminary bulk shave with plain water and a few circular passes with your fingers would make a noticeable difference. The water would dry so fast that when you go back with precision on the cheek line, you will still get that "ash line" you so clearly prefer. Again, your attention to detail is impressive and this comment is meant purely as *constructive* criticism from a fellow Tradesman. Keep up the GREAT work!
💯 percent …also when I shave first with the water I notice that the water and hair mix and create a little dark line ontop of the beard, after I get it even I dry it with a little talc and then lightly put in the “ash line” and do little touch ups on stray hairs that were missed in the first shave. it makes for a cleaner/ finer ash line aswell since the wet shave cleaned off most of the dead skin and with the darker one underneath it’s almost like using the pencils or enhancements without actually using them 💯
I’ve never been a fan of the lines at the top from these cuts, but that’s probably because they last about 8 minutes on me before they’re overgrown again. We did some family photos and I had to have a trimmer at the shoot. It’s a blessing and a curse. These are great cuts though, very precise and patient work
Would you be willing to show us how to shape a bead that maybe isn’t as strong as most and how to make the best situation for a client !? Idk something different but maybe some people who struggle can relate! Thanks mate
I dry shave with a straight razor all the time on my own face and neck, as long as you hydrate the skin after which you should be doing, it actually keeps the pores from clogging due to gel and dirt getting stuck. Idk why people on here are freaking out about the lack of gel.
MartyBlendz hey there bud, I know this video was a while ago already but quick question, since you don't use a gel when straight razoring do you use a post shave product afterwards??
