Thank you for sharing your experience ! 😊 Your videos are so encouraging! I admire the way you value children's education and see the beauty in simplicity. You are an amazing mama and a difference maker in the word !!! I thank God for your positive influence on my life! May the Lord give you strength and wisdom to continue your journey! Your reward will be greater than you think 👑👸👑
I agree ;) it's very thorough and first hand account. I hate watching homeschool channels where the mom just literally sits in front of the camera and just talks 😆 like show some action or books or something!
I backwards lesson plan so I can see what we've accomplished. It helps me stay focused on all that we've done and not on what has been left undone (which is never as much as it seems like it is). So, I write things down as my kids complete them instead of having written plans to complete. Except for my high schoolers...I print out plans each semester and they work through them independently. This video is such a great, real view of what homeschooling looks like in a large family! Love it!
Yes! I love this...so true! I do a similar method to this in our Morning Time notebook...writing down the pieces/art prints after we study them. There really is something to writing it down afterward that makes you feel more accomplished! Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Just want to drop a note to say that I have really appreciated your videos the past couple months. I only have 4 kids but my oldest is entering high school next year and my youngest has extra needs so the span of what I am teaching has become much bigger. I have gleaned a lot from how you structure your day and how you both include the older kids but also allow space for their higher learning needs.
Thank you for sharing! I have only littles and am so grateful to watch mom's further down the path than me. Your insight and experience is valuable to me!
Really enjoyed this video : ) To make portfolios easier, I put *everything* in the portfolio binder, as it's done. Then, at the end of the year, I simply do any necessary removal and organization, without having to hunt things down, or remember what was done months ago. It serves as both a schoolwork portfolio and an annual scrapbook of sorts - since I put in things like movie tickets and stage play programs, etc. At the end of the year, I prong my typed list of completed work (books read, resources used, etc).
Always a pleasure to watch, loved hearing some sound and seeing your handsome youngest son in the end hehe. Interesting to hear and see about the work you're doing outside. I hope you'll catch some of it in your videos. Well done for all the schoolwork this year!
Ooh thanks for that input! I use Seterra for all my Geography, but I will keep that in mind because I can see that being a great daily visual. I was actually thinking about adding catechisms this year so that one is on my list!
@@OurLifeHomeschooling Heidelberg catechism is just beautiful! The first question and response is long but even my 4 and 3 year old memorized it alongside us
I’m very interested in the binders you use with all the memorized works and people and composers and such. Is that a template you made? Is it from a specific curriculum?
I love your videos! So many big kids! ❤ My children are all little. I have a 6yo, a 5yo, a 3yo, a 1yo and I'm pregnant! Do you have any tips and tricks for homeschooling/homemaking when the kids are small? 😊
Thank you! Congrats on your little blessing! What a precious gift! I did a video on homeschooling when you have all young kids. Here it is if you want to check it out. ua-cam.com/video/F9TZ6DbjgqM/v-deo.htmlsi=uOCzKtgsGSb6GPls

Thank you so much for those kind words! I'm glad my videos have helped you!
This little bit of encouragement is so good for my soul!!! I have a feeling this homeschool channel is going to get really popular! 😊

Thank for this great reminder. We will be doing a recap
You're welcome!
I wolf love to see some maps in the morning time notebook. We're going to include new city Catechism as well but i have a book for that.

It's encouraging, I will do that
You're welcome! :)
Also, i think on a previous video you mentioned seterra. Do you purchase the ad free access? How do you have your kids utilize it?
We don't purchase anything. I think there may be ads, but from what the kids have mentioned, they are pretty minimal.

It's the Morning Time notebook I make and sell on my blog. You can see more about it here. ourlifehomeschooling.com/simple-morning-time-notebook/

I would love to see a list a list of what curriculum you use.
