There's 12 spots. IF the G5 get's 1, the ACC get's 2, the XII get's 2, the B1G get's 3 & the SEC get's 4, what's the problem?

@@aCycloneStevehere is the deal; the Big12 will be lucky to get 2 teams in these next two years. Now once go to 14 teams after these next two seasons, then the ACC and Big12 should get 2 teams in a piece regardless. But if Notre Dame is 10-2 or better and if there are two G5/6 teams at 13-0 and one at 12-1 and three at 11-2, both the ACC and Big12 will have a helluva time getting a second team in these first two seasons of expanded playoffs. Heck the records’ scenario I just laid out is very realistic to happen in the next few seasons; let alone this upcoming season and next season. Because of that scenario, there is a chance that both BiG10 and SEC only get 3 teams a piece, thus the need to go to 14 after these two seasons of 12 teams to ensure one or both 2-Top-Power A4 conferences get 4 teams in a piece and have best odds for advancing and winning it all most years. It is all about protecting Biased BiG10 and Secessionist SEC
BigTen wouldn’t stand for being second fiddle to the SEC. I see the SEC and BigTen each getting 3 and the 4th spot is at large (likely awarded to either the SEC or BigTen)..
FSU tried for years to get the Tobacco Road Conference to listen to its concerns and nothing happened, FSU tried.

My question is just how many teams is the Big 10 going to add? Two? Three? How many is too many? And will Notre Dame go their way if there are twenty plus teams? At some point there are going to be too many teams in a conference, So what do they do? Shed teams? Un-equalize the revenue share? Something is making me think that the SEC and the Big10 won't be players if the ACC breaks up, and that will be because of Notre Dame. Unless Notre Dame picks who to keep add with them, and at one point that was supposedly Stanford.

The SEC could end up pilling off the NCAA and forming their own independent organization maybe brining the Big 10 with them. As all of the big schools move to either the SEC or the Big 10 the rest will merge with the Group of 5 schools imo.

I personally don’t think ACC completely folds like the PAC, but suspect they lose top teams. If they follow model from B12 they will be fine even if always behind.

If the SEC legitimately has six of the best 12 teams in college football, it seems fair.
Josh Pate also said the Big 10 was going to go back to divisions once playoff expansion was agreed upon by other conferences.
And then there is his infamous "no way Cristobal leaves Oregon for Miami" declaration.

Boise State will not be in it. If that comes to pass that the conference will have to backfill with schools. I also don’t think anyone goes to the Big12 conference either for multiple reasons until 2030/31/32 timeframe. This is what my prediction of future conference alignment after said schools leave in Florida St, Clemson, UNC, UVA, NCST, and Va Tech, with two going to BiG10 and four to SEC. They (the ACC) fill in with the following schools but there are going to be some variables with this. Again this is one of about four different scenarios of future configuration of the ACC if more than two schools leave. Now once some schools go to Big12 possibly but not probably then could see others added. The Big12 will add more from G5 as well probably later on and depending upon who does what in each sport over the next few years.

PAC leadership (so also its fans) were delusional. There's no evidence of that with the ACC.
It’s a shame that it could all come crashing down because the ACC had every opportunity to alleviate this in advance. When your members (especially when it’s some of the more prominent ones) begin telling you that the membership isn’t working for them, it might be time to try to work with them to make it better than to just stand status quo. Tbey thought it was “iron clad” when in reality contracts are never really that.

Why don’t they set the college sports like they do in MLB, NFL, and NBA? American and National Leagues or eastern western conference’s- North, south,central, east, west. Divide Teams to the best of ability based on geographic location. If you want rivals to stay intact make protected rivalry games.
Disney/ABC/ESPN owns the rights to the ACC. I’m surprised those corporate names couldn’t carry the conference.

SEC will definitely get 4, a 5th team is possible. I think ACC has a good chance at 3 because their top teams have soft schedules and they will have 4-5 teams with 10 wins. Big 12 probably only gets 1 because they will beat each other up, B12 only can get 2 if a team with 11 wins loses the title game, BIG 10 probably gets 3, but it would be interesting to see how the committee responds to a 2 loss B10 team with zero or maybe just 1 top 25 win, would they get in over a 3 loss SEC team with 3-5 top 25 wins.

I don't think you do understand, There have been tons of predictions the ACC would be done by now. Day after day after day predictions of immediate doom all over the place. And it sure seems to me the main ones beating the drum is B12 fans. Even you are basing this podcast on about 6 teams leaving the ACC and backfilling. That is a long way from FSU and Clemson leaving.
Considering that this Pac 12 fan already saw some of this happen, yes, it sucks.
But the only school the b12 added that theoretically improved their long-term football standing (Utah) is the one that doesn’t want to be there.
You have these b12 fans still running on a little dopamine from surviving the loss of Oklahoma and Texas, then getting what they perceived to be a win by getting Pac-12 schools (none of which were the ones you really want), and it’s understandable to want to rejoice with that. The truth is that the P2 gets the real money, they’ll get the first pick of ACC schools, and what’s left doesn’t really improve the b12’s standing. There’s not going to be a 3rd power conference, and many of the bystanders who don’t like what is happening will just switch to pro sports. You’re probably just witnessing the increasing irrelevance of college sports altogether.

I believe that you will see a merger instead... top 32 teams from both conferences divided in 4 divisions of 8 each..arraged in geographical order. This large conference will be just a step below the BIG and SEC. who knows maybe we will have promotion and relegation in the future among the top 3 conferences.
a) The ACC would have to first deplete down to the BIG12's Tier 2 level.
b) There's no purpose for a large and wide Tier 2 conference.

Remove FSU & Clemson and the ACC & BIG 12 are quite comparable Top to Bottom, but if I'm ESPN, the Top 2 Cards were dealt away and they have the leverage needed to reduce the contract and make the BIG 12 the more appealing League, they can trim the fat so to speak. A conference built with Fresno St, SDSU, Boise St, Col St, Memphis, Tulane and S Fla: will not be worth that kind of $.

Most of the G5 & FCS schools make more as "Lamb for Slaughter " than TV revenues and if they pull the upset, people talk about it for years. That's why they play them.
The ACC and Swofford nailed the coffin shut inviting Syracuse BC and Pitt made no sense. Should have picked WV, Memphis. The northern schools are in professional sports areas. WVA and Memphis have had football relevance.
a) MIAMI demanded CUSE & BC which resulted in also VATECH & PITT. This was pushed by FSU and others while opposed to some degree by T-Toad.
b) If WVU and/or MEMPHIS had been added, UVA, UNC & DUKE would have left starting the depletion earlier.

B) Dennis Dodd -CBS Sports stated UNC is BEHIND FSU and valued UNC in the 30 million range. If UNC is added to the SEC, the devaluation of that conference begins. You aren't even within 25 million of SEC pro-rata and likely 60 million behind the BIG.

In all seriousness in the end there will only be 60 to 70 major D1 programs left. With 3 power conferences. I'm an SEC guy, but it's pretty damn impressive if the big 12 goes from dieing to being one of the big 3 left. ACC people have short memories. It wasn't that long ago there was a conference called the pac 12. They believed they were untouchable.

a) The SEC and B1G are not likely to expand beyond ~24 each.
b) As the ACC depletes out, the SEC/B1G get stronger while the BIG12 can only tread water. If the ACC depletes out so heavily to the SEC/B1G to no longer be considered "power", the "3rd best" won't matter. There will be a P2 and then everyone else.
The BIG12 can only be a relevant #4 or football irrelevant #X. It would have been better off if the PAC had survived with or without USC/UCLA ~and~ if the ACC had survived as a peer Tier 1.

Stories about the Pac & ACC talking started maybe a couple weeks after the LA schools left. It’s completely obvious to observers that the Bay Area schools were the biggest advocates.
@@PCSPounder Look, clearly Cal/Furd preferred the ACC to the big 12. It’s possible they would rather go independent than go big 12. The ACC was a good lifeline at the time and ND wanted it over UNC objections. What ND wants, ND usually gets. ND will leach off the ACC until it effectively dies like they did the big east.

SEC and B1G get 9. Big 12, ACC get one each. One other conference champ makes it. Caveat: If ND goes 11-1 or 12-0 they will get one of the 9 sports from the P2.
Boy you can tell this host has a wish for the ACC to lose teams to the Big 12. I would love to see his next video after the opposite happened. Oh and by the way, his wonderful Big 12 (the current ones) had 0 teams in the final 4 and 0 teams at Omaha and 0 teams in the college football playoff. Even if you take out FSU and Clemson, the ACC had a team in the final 4, and 3 at Omaha . Seems to me, his wonderful big 12 is milk toast.
