- Having gone off the 3/1 favourite for the feature £55,000 Unibet Summer Plate at Market Rasen, many punters who supported Born Famous would have thought about ripping up their betting slips halfway through the race.
Detached from the main group and jumping sketchily, the Iain Jardine-trained six-year-old looked to have no chance of landing a blow on his rivals.
However, jockey Harry Cobden persisted with his enigmatic mount and was rewarded with a stunning victory in the extended two miles and five furlong event.
Having started to make progress on the final circuit, the pair took the lead entering the final half-furlong to record the most remarkable of victories.
