- It's a totally necessary period piece!

I really liked this one. It was surprising how much I enjoyed it
I took it like the third one is actually Ginger and Bridget in purgatory, the werewolf curse haunting them even in the afterlife.
...no.
MY take.
mariannebossu that's pretty interesting but technically we don't see Bridgette die, just locked up.
Whoa, that's an interesting theory! That's really cool if you needed to connect the movies, but since the movie didn't really work hard at it, you could accept it as a separate movie.
I actually watched this movie first and i loved it and i was so confused when i watched Ginger Snaps i had no idea it was a sequel
I think seeing this one first helped me to get more out of it then if I had watched them in order. I prefer to look at this as a standalone remake of the first rather than a prequel since it doesn't make sense to try and connect them even though the movie tries.
That's exactly how i see this movie
It is cool they played out the leech scenario which the guy helping Bridgette in part one references.
I think one thing I enjoy about Ginger Snaps Back is that it does end with them giving up on humanity. I think the setting in this one leads to that being better than it would have been in the one where they lived in a well adjusted (mostly) neighborhood. Also, as far as werewolf period piece, it's easily one of the best. (not saying much though)
pretending they're time travelers for some vague and inexplicable reason could fix the WTFery of them not at all being part of the setting
Ugh there's a sequel? The first one is a hidden gem.
Honestly, I prefer Snaps Back over Snaps 2. The ending of the second one has prevented me from watching it any more than the two times I've watched it which is sad because for most of part 2, it's really solid. When you get to the last act where it's just B, Ghost and... that guy whose name I forgot, it falls apart. To elaborate for a brief moment on how I feel about the ending, it's like if La Horde decided to have a happy ending with the most unsympathetic character in the movie. Now, the original and the third one... I can watch those any time and have a good time from beginning to end.
RavenPryde i kinda always dug the morbid, incredibly sad and frustrating ending of 2.
Exactly i didn't enjoy quite much snaps 2 is kind of borring and the personality of that little girl just makes no sense in the whole movie but i agree i about the first and third i can watch them as if they were totally diferent movies
And something I never could figure out, why does that old woman call that thing that causes the visions "Snow"? But anyways, yeah, it is fun for what it is, but not the best of the three. Once again, thank you, Alison! 👍😊
This film franchise is from where I now live.
jokersmidnightshow what do you mean? Where do you live?
Vancouver =)
This movie predicted the Richardson family murders in 2006: Jasmine Richardson, Canada's youngest serial killer , a 12 year old obsessed with goth culture, fell in love with 23 year old man who claimed to be a 300 year old werewolf. Her parents grounded her so badly, then she made plan with her boyfriend to murder them including her 8 year old brother, so they could be together forever. Today her "werewolf" boyfriend is serving a life sentence, while she's been released since 2016.
One thing I do have to applaud this movie for is the werewolf effects/design. It’s in its prime in this film.
I like Ginger Snaps and Ginger Snaps Back The Beginning and it would've been awesome if Ginger Snaps Back The Beginning got a sequel movie to it as well but I did like the bond with Ginger and her sister in this prequel.
I really enjoyed all three of these movies. The third has issues, but I really liked the way that it looked. It's a beautiful film to look at.
Great channel BTW!

Uh, I think the film (trilogy) is set in Canada. Hence not "Native American". The appropriate regional term would be "First Nations".
Really? I assumed since it's still the American continent it still applies.
From a technical standpoint, there maybe some merit to make that argument, but the application of the terms hinge on the region and Canadians don't commonly use "Native Americans" nor even the analogue "Native Canadians".
I'll keep that in mind for the future, thanks. :)
No problem. Just surprised/happy you replied to me when I honestly didn't expect it. You're the second of my favourite UA-camrs to do that.
Mmmmm, two sequels by different creative teams in the same year. If The Exorcist did it that means it must be good.
I could never watch this movie. Every time I tried i just couldn’t do it
So this was made the same year as 2 but with none of the same people? Was 1 such a hit that they had to fast track the sequels Matrix style?
I don't think any of the movies made much of a financial splash. (edit: A quick peek at their wikis suggests that as well). I could see why they made 2, I will never understand the reason for 3 other than possibly getting someone's idea for a werewolf movie pushed through on the back of a series that actually was watched and liked among fans of the genre. Especially given the fact period pieces tend to be pretty expensive, that makes some sense, even if it does not from a movie series perspective, but Hollywood people don't care about any of that as long as they get their funding.
@@ainumahtarI also get the sense that this was likely an unrelated werewolf themed period piece script the studio had lying around, and they decided to make it a Ginger Snaps movie in hopes it would be easier to fund and market.
It apparently isn't that uncommon to attach unrelated film scripts to an existing IP. Hellraiser f.ex. is fairly notorious for it.
This movie wasn’t good as Ginger Snaps 1 & 2.
Spoiler alert! 🚨
However, it was nice to see that Ginger and Bridget didn’t die in the end.
People seeing Ginger Snaps is a hidden gem are lying to themselves. I saw it in theaters, hated it so much. What a boring, uninspired piece of crap.
Which one?
If you mean the 1st, then u r likely one of the Trasnformers Generation who never developed the skill of attention and taste.
Cool story bro.
It was in theaters, yes but it wasn’t distributed all over the U.S. nor was it promoted on TV heavily so for most people it is a hidden gem. As far as I can tell, Canada seems to be the only country where it was distributed nationally so for a Canadian it wouldn’t be hidden.
