Superman being a concerned and gentle father with his incredibly ill son is something I didn't know I needed
Main reason I’m digging this show, we’re getting a Superman we haven’t seen before
Kal is an amazing father and husband. Tyler is doing such a great job!
this is what superman was actually like in the comics
Snyder`s vision made him seem like he was above the rest
but in the comics he was actually a chill and cool dude he was raised on earth after all
he should act like a normal dude just with powers. But in the snyder films he seemed so emotionless
@@reyman3286 ya old school superman was great. I've always thought he's a great character but a bad hero (too op).
Actor showed no emotion just seemed annoyed his son is weak
Funny thing about this is that in Smallville Clark developed his super breath when he got a cold too...haha
Different universe, Different rules, different boy structure
@@coreypharveyable STFU bro I swear. He’s just mentioning the fact that there are similarities. For fucks sake your kind of people ruin these shows
@@quick_impact_23 look at me. I'm a edge lord
@@coreypharveyable dude THIS power intro was literally a scrapped idea from Smallville, Smallville intended to play around with the freeze just like it did with heat vision and hearing, but they instead chose to focus on the wind side of it, freeze breath was quite literally shown without reason when Smallville Clark was acting as a true kryptonian with Zod
Remember the heat vision episode lol oh that was a good episode
I love Lois’s father knowing Clark is Superman in this show. It’s made the dynamic between Lois and him so much more interesting and her knowing he has developed stuff to harm Clark. Just such a unique take on the characters
I like it too. because hes actually working with Superman knowing that his daughter and grandsons expect their husband and dad to come home.
As much as how hurtful it was to hear....Lois's father had it coming.

That's cause it's not CW. HBO was mostly in charge, and it's only airing on CW.
@@bliczb8772 ahh, that’ll do it
The power of CW not being in control for once.
@Infinite Possibilities this ratio is correct tho
@@bliczb8772 Surprisingly, that's not true. They only have a deal for streaming. It's a CW show that is just airing on HBO Max. The HBO thing is an internet-speculation created myth.

Clark is such a good Dad. Good mentor.
Yes
Scenes that highlight what a wonderful father he is always makes my day 🥰
Truly is the best role model for men everywhere
As much as I enjoy that other show, it's good to see a counter to that other "super" dad.
He seems like a pretty cool dad, but he seems way too chill with everything his kids do🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@trence5 Very true, love that show though.
He’s a good coach, too.
this show has a darker edge to it than any superman show before it even smallville which I'm loving
A darker "Edge" than Smallville's Morgan Edge, that's for sure. 😅

Between this series and "Smallville," Jor-El is never gentle with his descendants, it seems.
Jor El was a scientist when alive. On top of that, this isn't Jor El, but an AI built with the latter's intellect so that it may guide Kal El.
I doubt emotional intelligence was considered a priority when Jor El made the AI
He straight up doesn't care about his grandkids because they are half-breeds.
Well his AI
Since Jor-El's grandfather existed as an A.I on Krypton (as seen on the show Krypton), it's possible that both it and Jor El's father and Mother also are somewhere recorded on that Crystal and Kal-El either never figured out how to activate them or he never realized that they are on it.
@@ghost245353 no AI Jorel is only interested in continuing the El blood line and unfortunately that comes at the mandatory cost of having powers, when Jordan first met Hologramps Jorel was surprised to know that Clark had a son, but he wasn't interested in him until Clark mentioned Jordan had powers, and that prompted Jorel to say "it seems we can further our kryptonian heritage after all" which the focus of Jorel speech (the camera showing it) being directed at Jordan
Unless Jonathan displays powers, Jorel won't be interested
I love the actress they picked to play Lois, she’s so good at making me care about her and the things she cares about.
Best Lois since Margot Kidder
@@suave-rider I agree

Little details when Jonathan enter the room he felt cold like his mother.. and when his brother sneeze freeze, he looks like he never felt cold again and stand beside Clark while his mother embracing herself to warm up😂
Witnessing his brother deep freeze that lamp definitely heat up his body temperature 😆
I think lois was rubbing her arms more due to worry rather than cold
Shes been in the room longer as well too.
Clark is a amazing father " take my hand and squeeze it as hard as you need to " You can really tell he is trying his best to protect his family
Very cool that Jordon's clothes didn't get burned in that INTENSE heat... Super clothes from Krypton for the win.
Bio-Electric Aura from a Kryptonian-Unique Organ. Ever watch Fact Fiend?

@Will N ??? Jor-El, the Father of Superman who died in the explosion of Krypton. How the hell does he know Tom Wayne and John Kent
@Will N I’ve been watching Z. Snyder, and Superman Returns. When the hell did this happen?
@Will N Yeah, soon as you said Comics, I was bored. I was born early 21st, I’m an online and movie watcher, not a comic reader (I do read book, so don’t fully stereotype me)
Now Jordan have 4 powers now he has super strength , heat visions , super hearing and freeze breath

I'm pretty sure he has some sort of super durability. So that would make 5.
I 100% agree with General Lang. He makes total sense. People don't wear seatbelts believing they'll get into car accidents. They wear seatbelts as a precaution for the worst-case scenario. Batman would 100% agree as well
Agreed. Even if they trust him 100%, there's always the possibility of someone evil taking over his mind oder idk poisoning him with something so he goes crazy or so. As unlikely as it may be, if it happens, they would not have any means to defend themselves from him. And with the weapons being in the generals hands, it's at least someone, who does not only see the threat in Superman, but also has a personal connection (of course they need to be stored way more secure, where they an not be stolen by an infiltrator)
Exactly. And are they going to pretend like the “For the man that has everything” storyline never happened? Superman’s been mind-controlled before. He can be compromised
@@MistaLovaMan I think it boils down to equal parts fear and respect. You have to check yourself and think "what if I'm wrong" than the aspect of him controlling superman takes on a much more malignant role.
I also didn't understand why Lios was failing to see his point of view even after what John told them and more especially with new evil supes around

"Immense heat" isn't hot enough to burn his clothes off.
It’s probably pinpoint accurate Heat designed to target only the kryptonite.
@@nalgaderusmobgusrinatirous473
Mygod lol
Immense heat alone wouldn't burn off clothes. You can put some clothing in a stove and set to broil( hottest a stove can go) and it will not burn up. Had it been focused ( like a laser) yes then they would be damaged or destroyed
Obviously camera man lent him those clothes so that he didn’t burn his normal ones

Jor-El just offers the most painful solution or no solution at all. At this point, Clark should just take Jordan to the Star Labs or to Gotham, 'cause grampa knows nothing about half-kryptonians and at least someone else would have give him an Advil or something.
I really don't think any medicine that earth can provide would help and no one has any knowledge of kryptonian anatomy more than Jor el AI.

To be fair though comparing a human to a kryptonians pain threshold is ridiculous.
Whatever right now I'm watching season 1 episode 7 on my cell phone and I'm enjoying the show and it's totally awesome therefore I don't care about whatever is coming from your mouth
Just an idea, I think the reason why Jordan's clothes didn't burn was because those heat beam things are focused on certain areas in his body.
It's probably like what Superman did when he hit Chester's(Superman vs The Elite) brain with heat vision to cut away his powers. He was able to hit a spot in the brain without damaging any other parts.
I think it’s simpler. It only heated his body, maybe even only on the inside. So the heat didn’t leave his body to the clothes
@@cezaralves8435
That's a good idea too
I think it’s a similar idea to how radiotherapy works - a single laser wasn’t enough to heat anything, but if you get enough lasers all passing through the same point, then only that specific point gets a huge burst of energy.
I'm pretty sure in the lore superman projects an aura around himself that protects things albeit at an extrmely short distance. Its part of his physiology.

damn, a GOOD reputation of clark!? Well done, jesus, it's only been how long? nah but seriously it's so good to see superman written and portrayed properly
Somehow I think Gen. Lane is going to realize his error and end up being crucial in preventing Dark Superman from either coming, or, if it is a separate Superman who shows up, defeats him
that episode was ... quite heavy.. especially at the end ..
I think we're going to get dark Superman I wouldn't be shocked if he's actually on Earth Prime or they could just put Clark in the machine which is probably what happened on the other Earth
I would hate if this theory isn't true or if superman got dark because he lost lois or something. him not having a choice in turning evil on Jon's universe would be the best explanation OR if he was raised by evil parents but we know he was good at first in the other universe so I'll exclude that.
Beside that also explains the "who is he with?" When evil superman showed up with other kryptonians, they must be the people edge is putting in the machine.
This show is actually really good imo, they did a good job.

"We're going to burn it out of you with immense heat..." Doesn't even singe his clothes
I love this show dc definitely should stand for dark comics they’ve finally moved past the obvious and explored further into the Superman story deeper darker devastatingly great
The only genuinely "dark" element to S1 of Superman and Lois was showing how Clark does get irked at humanity's distrust of him. For example, he clearly was nearing losing his patience when he was shot with kryptonite bullets. Likewise, he was NOT happy about the synthetic kryptonite gas, or whenever Lois or the boys are in jeopardy. Otherwise, there was rarely any real darkness to the series. And the whole Kryptonian Defense Council thing ended up being a bit lame despite the build up. In fact, the Eradicator arc ended up kinda fizzling as nothing really happened aside from a bunch of broken glass in Smallville
Snyder try to be dark but failed miserably
I love Superman.

This is 100% the best CW show yet. It's animations are actually good, it always has a decent to good plot, and no plot holes that I've seen so far
This show is so good
It’s a 10/10 so far
On a one to ten scale of superhero/paranormal shows on network TV, most CW shows are like a 4/5, this show is a solid 8. It still sometime descends into the CW prone cotton-candy style resolution of interpersonal dynamics, but for the most part the camera work, the acting, the special effects, and the character arcs are quite superior. For it to be a 9/10 level, they need to depict some real loss and real peril and sense of death and devastation. Since the show is on the HBO Max platform, go THERE exclusively and lets get grittier and a tad darker!

I think most any of us would choose a minute or two of lasers if it meant not having to feel like shit for two weeks. Also I love the punniness of "catching a cold" here.
At least they should put some sfx to make jordan jacket and clothes to burn, unless Jordan already have his father electrochemical aura. My inner self comic book geek want answers!
Presumably while weaker, Jordan's bioelectric aura is durable enough to protect himself and his clothes from the heat.
Those lasers are meant to burn kryptonite not clothes. That’s their main purpose. Jordan hasn’t developed invulnerability yet. That’s why the clothes won’t burn.
