Eating too many refined carbs interferes with this process. It's supposed to, so you store fat for the winter.
@@ChekhovBlaGo read about Muscle Memory. I got sick for two straight weeks and lost a lot of muscle. I was around 58kg but before that I was at 65. When I started my training again, I easily gain back my weight at 65 in just 3-4 months. Plus I keep training harder then before and eat well and now I’m at 71. It’s crazy what your body can do. I used to have knee and shoulder problems because they’re weak. But once I train them(legs/shoulders) they improve a lot. I noticed those weak parts become painful when I stopped training them.
I'd give you a 7/10. Everything you said was largely true, and for the purposes of your argument, it's perfectly fine. As you age, however, your body will gradually "decide" to take resources away from maintaining muscle mass and start replacing it with a nutrionally cheaper fibrous tissue (which is why we lose mobility as we age). Muscle ain't cheap, and it is legitimately hard on your body to maintain. That said, it also keeps you alive by virtue of thermogenesis (it burns the volitle glucose you mention). The sagging, though, is largely from muscle shrinkage and not necessarily adipose tissue.
And you just confirmed what he talked about. Do resistance training you maintain muscle mass. The body won't "decide" to catabolize muscle if you train it for maintenance or hypertrophy. There's no argument.
Your counterpoints are based on those who don't workout. You should actually read studies on those who train throughout their senior life and eat the necessary nutrition to maintain, you'll find that all your points go out the window.
@got_logic1320 I'd throw that advice back at you, because the reality is that muscles are the same between all people. The longevity will differ depending on level of activity and quality of nutrition. What you wrote is just thrown out window when you actually read studies for a career.
