Mary Poppins after watching the Nanny McPhee films:
(Grabs umbrella) Fine. I'll do it myself!
there is already a Mary Poppins sequel Micheal Rooker in Guardians of the galaxy 2 "I'm Mary Poppins y'all!"
RuPaul and Uncle Phil has entered the studio.
Spot on
You just made me choke on my coffee🤣
how DARE you. insulting the queen of queens herself! bish, catch fire
Lol
ha ha good one
I'm a Brit and I think Dick van Dyke's Australian accent is pretty good!
HA HA HA HA HA! I thought it was English with a Dubai accent.
lol
didn't interfere with his dutch accent?
May May Yeah I can definitely hear the Dutch too. The mans a chameleon.
Dayummmm 😂
this movie review is superfragilisticexpialidocious
Correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s not how you spell it. Here’s how you spell it, according to the broadway version of the musical: S-U-P-E-R-C-A-L-I-F-R-A-G-I-L-I-S-T-I-C-E-X-P-I-A-L-I-D-O-C-I-O-U-S.
Remember Mary Poppins doesn’t get attached, so her aloofness works. Emily Blunt doesn’t have the sweet innocence that Julie Andrews did. So her aloofness wasn’t quite as obvious. However they are both excellent in their roles. I wish they had made Lin-Manuel Miranda’s character Puerto Rican. Then when someone asked why he talked funny he would say because he was Puerto Rican. That would have been cool.
He sounds awkward with a cockney accent as well.
(On Lin-Manuel Miranda as a Puerto Rican) HAHAHAHAH!Q LOOLL! Just like life!
Here for Billy's laugh

and so will that insulin shot from the diabetes
You know it's gonna be a good review when you're already belly-laughing in the first four minutes!
I have no interest in this movie but I am here for the DT roast
Mary Poppins appears when she absolutely needs to;
When Disney needs more money.
when pl travers books copyright run out more like.
HAHahahha! THAT was GREAT!
I guess Martin did not feel the magic in this movie
Man, now I want Poppins vs Pennywise
The Stegman and the witch from coraline
And conjuring,.... Georgie...Annabel(spelt a bit different)
Mary Poppins is definitely a Hogwarts alumni. She’s got Huffle Puff written all over her. Damn shame the two properties are owned by different studios.
i thought she was more of a ravenclaw but hufflepuff works too
Mrs. Weasley went unscathed.
naw....she's definitely a Ravenclaw with a little bit of the others mixed in. But still mind_blown
Nah fam she went to community college, family may have been dirt poor to actually have any coin on their name to send little Mary to a posh school like Hogwarts.
I'm Mary Poppins y'all!
Thanks, Yondu..You'll be here all week.
I love Double toasted!!! These guys are crazy
I sure agree!
Toasty!
Holy shit her going through the bathtub....
I haven't seen that since Nightmare on Elm Street.
Walt Disney wanted full ownership of Traver's character. The movie came out after the author died
Everytime I hear "a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down" is the same as
Star Wars' "The Imperial March"
It's the same song!
My god!! I thought I was the only one who thought that!!!!
I thought Swan Lake.,
I gotta disagree with the guys and say this movie was a Full Price for me. It was delightful as heck. The first musical movie in years to feel like a real musical (unlike La La Land and Greatest Showman, in my opinion). The singing is beautiful, even from Lin-Manuel, who I had never thought of as much of a singer. The general plot/conflict in many ways is beat-for-beat the same as the original, and yet it manages to feel fresh and new thanks to subtle changes (like making the animated sequence turn incredibly sinister). Emily Blunt was brilliant, throwing so much delicious shade that she didn't even need that umbrella.
I think the message of this movie ends up being very different from that of the original. The old Mary Poppins was about getting adults to stop being so stuffy, and to spend time with their kids. This Mary Poppins, in a way that was heartbreaking, showed the consequences of putting adult stresses onto children. The Banks kids lose their mother. Instead of stepping up and taking care of things, their father becomes lost in his grief. There's even a point where **SPOILERS he straight yells at them, and then breaks down right in front of them about all his problems, and how he doesn't know what to do to save them. Mary Poppins stands there, looking at the children and knowing that they feel a need to make everything right themselves, instead of relying on their father to be the strong adult. They want to fix everything to help him. She can't be the one to fix things alone, because the point is to help the family cope. It's devastating!**
It's a great message for this particular time, as I constantly see adults talking in front of their kids about the country going to hell, and horrible things happening. Then I see those same kids worrying about those problems without the ability to really understand them. They only know that their parents are scared and sad, and it makes them scared and sad. We have to be strong for our kids. We have to let them be kids while they can. That's such an incredible thing to show, and the movie does so in a way that adults can understand, while kids can mostly sit back and enjoy the fun songs and beautiful colors.
I do agree with some of the flaws (like Emily Mortimer's underutilization), but as a whole this movie was refreshing as heck and a perfect new Mary Poppins for a new generation.
TLDNR: Mary Poppins Returns is really very good, and deeper than the guys gave it credit for.
Arosukir6 LA LA LAND WAS BETTER, WAY BETTER
Georgie looks like he took his facial cues from The Omen! I kept thinking "this kid's gonna be found killing cats in the alleyway later on" his looks are so fucking creepy!
Lol did Korey just say “umbrilla”?
What's the list of words Koleman can't say right at?
How about Munsters? I don't know why but it fuckin drives me crazy.
Yo Kory was killing me with that joke at the beginning of the video lol. DONT DO WHAT? WHAT THE FUCK DID HE SAY? WHOA WAIT A MINUTE lmaooo.
When they brought up marmalade in the film, I swear to god, I thought they were gonna connect this to the Paddington movies.
Y'all are really making us wait for that Aquaman review huh?
They said they're scheduled to see Aquaman today and won't review it until tomorrow Thursday on their site.
Right!
Either it's gonna be a great review or a drunk review lol
Haha, they probably already saw it but the thought of reviewing it is exhausting. lol. That was a lot of movie.
The guys are looking mighty spiffy today
"You're fired!" Worked in RoboCop for a happy ending.
5 years old!
it doesnt in any way surpass the 1964 original with Julie Andrews
but 'Chicago' director Rob Marshall makes a worthy follow-up starring the very talented Emily Blunt
she really does a great job playing the enchanted nanny that floats from above
her personality is kept in check, too with the children claiming she's magical yet she constantly denies it but with a smirk on her face
the songs arent as memorable and it's a bit lengthy but the choreography is impressive particularly the lamp lighters in the streets of London and the traditional animated sequence which is my fav scene
plus this is the kind of light-hearted, uplifting experience we need in these times we live in
everything is possible, even the impossible, nothing is never truly gone, just misplaced, you can look at things better from another point of view, there's nowhere to go but up, and even though we become grown ups we often forget the good times as children, we just have to remember
the tone may be a bit jarring from the adult problems to the magical whismyness of the songs but Emily Blunt carries the title character with such grace
such adorable cameos from Dick Van Dyke and Angela Lansbury, too
Keep having Sir Billy Brooks on the show Korey. He's the best
One of the things I always look forward to is trying to catch Korey's subtle plugs for DT Merch. Sometimes I miss it all together.
...your funniest review yet, all three of you had me cracking the fuck up, I didn't want to see this movie, but now!
Billy and Martins laughter reminds me of the laughing uncle from the film who laughed himself so hard he floated to the ceiling. These two probably would float out into orbit.
Poppinwise
Emily Blunt plays Mary Poppins the exactly the way Julie Andrews does.
I think everyone forgets that Julie was more stern and elitist then fun and kind. If you notice she rarely smiles around the kids.she was kind of a bitch.
I think everyone just looks at musical segments and get that assumption. Watch the set up to "Stay Awake "and you will know what I mean
I swear I love this SHIT...really I'm throwback from the spill.com days but you can't judge these movies remade for the new generation...hey love you guys in my double toasted shirt
I like the fact that the commercials during this video showed Jim Mary Poppins real husband’s Amazon Prime show
This Ladies and Gentlemen is why I watch this freaking channel. Bring the funny! Who would have thought you could make a movie like this, this black and funny. 👏 Please return to Chicago
Korey & Billy, another classic in the animated/live action hybrid vein -- 'The Incredible Mr. Limpet', starring Don Knotts and featuring the vocal talents of the legendary Paul Frees!
And TV GOMER PYLE actress Elizabeth MacRae in the third animated role!
I only need to know one thing, did Lin-Manuel Miranda sounded like Scarface?
Who would have thought Dick Van Dyke's Penguin dance started the way kids wear their pants hanging down.
Mary Poppins played by Samuel Jackson as Leroy Poppins and Tiffany Haddish as one of the kids and Katt Williams as the dad Kevin Hart as anther son
Ben Wishaw was actually supposed to play Freddie Mercury.
Mary Poppins: A Spoon Full of Sugar Makes Brexit Go Away.
Man this movie broke me and my kids when the dad sang that son about losing his wife.
My ex took off and my kids and I sat in the theater and balled during that scene
They should of just made a true sequel and continued the love story between Mary and Bert on his deathbed.... deage Julie Andrews... and write a story about visiting him before he dies. They were in love with each other. Thats what the original story was all about. She just wasnt "human" so she couldnt stay with him.
What a wondrous concept! That could have been incredible, fellow Bert and Mary shipper. Their chemistry and interplay with each another was my favorite element of the original film. Maybe Disney will green-light a retroactive follow-up to the first movie that bears a similar premise to yours, sometime in the not-too-distant future. Or maybe they could utilize that genius narrative hook as the basis for a direct sequel to Mary Poppins Returns. It would most assuredly conclude the Mary Poppins trilogy with panache and give us a definitively emotional swan song for Emily Blunt's iteration of the character. Dick Van Dyke is as spry as ever, so Disney better hop to it if they want to make this dream a worldwide reality.
@@DereksDichotomy Oh thanks..ha.. I made a complete plot subplot on another post
the year is 1970, 60 years after the events of the original movie. Dick Van Dyke plays Bert again ... dying of old age in a hospital....
He has regrets of things he should of done and sort of a bucket list. His adopted family and lets say "great grandkids" of the original children in the first movie don't believe his stories of the magical girl he once fell in love with. Their disbelief gives him new life to prove that its true. Then, with doctors saying he only has a few days to live, magically, he jumps out of bed, sneaks out of the hospital with the great grandkids in tow and they all go on a journey.
He visits old friends, resolves past indiscretions, shows the kids his stories were all true... marks off his bucket list and most importantly they go on a search to find Mary Poppins. All the while throughout the movie, he grows younger and younger but never realizes it.
When he finally finds Poppins still played by Julie Andrews, he wants to show his love for her but is ashamed of the way he looks because of his age, then she shows him that he is young again and always was. There is a great reunion and they sing and dance, but time, of course, is running out for old Bert.
They make it back to the hospital (did he ever really leave? or was it all just their imagination?) Bert lies down in his hospital bed and rapidly grows old again. A medical alarm goes off and the children run out to get help while Big Ben strikes midnight.
Mary Poppins appears and realizes she never should of left him all those years ago. She understands for the first time he never married or had kids because of his love for her. Bert smiles and blows her a kiss.
Tearing up, she sings "thats lucky too" while Bert passes away.
Fade out with Doctors rushing in to try and revive him as Mary floats outside the window looking on, not to be seen by the adults, only the children.
Dont be sad though.. haha
It can end on a happy note with Bert moving into the "realm" of Poppins and becoming like her, a magical nanny for children. Both young again dancing and singing together forever.
That is how I would of written it at least.

As Korey Coleman once said: SHEEEEEEEEEIT! Sweet rundown, man. Thanks for that comprehensive breakdown; twas well worth the read. I'd love to see this script outline reign supreme in a full-blown live-action feature someday. Never stop writing, playa.
@@DereksDichotomy it will never get made.. Disney is to corporate and it would only work with Dick and Julie still alive. Besides, they would have to pay me now, something they would never want to do... :) But anyway, thanks

Crazier things have happened, right? In my opinion, Star Wars 8 was a pretty big risk for Disney because of their hiring of Rian Johnson and the ultimate election to grant his vision permission. The vast divide in critical consensus over Episode VIII is indicative of chances taken, for me.
I can see why people differ in view on TLJ being a legitimate risk, seeing as how every single Star Wars movie in the canon (before Solo debuted) made serious bank. Keeping those stats in mind; it becomes blindingly obvious and self-evident that Episode VIII was always going to follow suit with a massive box office haul, regardless of content. Alternatively (and in my defense), Han Solo's prequel might've suffered the financial losses it did because a number of folks were turned off or rendered indifferent by Rian Johnson's unorthodox offering. If that wasn't a controversial gamble for Disney, I don't know what would be classified as such. For those reasons and various other ones, I will agree to disagree on the Mouse house being too corporate.
I do, however, echo the notion you espoused about the ideal Mary Poppins sequel's development prospects. Being perfectly honest, your brilliantly structured story arc will probably nary find a way to make it's mark on the big screen with Dick and Julie reprising their roles. I hope that we are both proven deeply wrong and it receives an opportunity to bask in the glorious light of day.

I’m getting sick of people mocking Dick Van Dyke for his British accent. Let it go you hacks.
Personally the bathtub scene scared the shit out of me, I felt like I was suffocating the entire time. I once had a panic attack trying to go scuba diving so it’s kinda a personal issue lmao
I will say this. I love the first film, it’s almost my childhood. But at least Lin Manuel Miranda’s Cockney accent is better than Dick Van Dykes.
Is it really though. Really?
It is.
Stefan Sharak Are you sure?
C’mon, Dick Van Dyke’s cockney accent wasn’t that bad.
When I was a kid...my grandmother made us watch all these Disney movies on T.V. before cable T.V. arrived...I can't get into this.
I’m only 9 minutes in but no one’s mentioned lin manuel Miranda and I’m concerned
I will always love this movie because it brought back hand drawn animation to Disney after 7 years away
Dont forget Rob Marshall's other Disney property,Pirates of the Caribbean:On Stranger Tides
And Chicago, through Miramax, which won some Oscars.
2:48 just tagging this so i can always come back to it for a laugh
Mary poppins returns to not acknowledge the vfx artists
Lol I forgot this shit exists...but I still remember the original
The whole movie I was waiting for a “feed the birds” reprise and I was disappointed. Like just a 2 second bird lady cameo would have been great
Don't care, Emily Blunt is still my top choice for Catwoman in the DCEU if she ever appears.
Feline Fatale I would rather see her play Sue Storm in a MCU F4 movie.
These Disney remakes, "Christopher Robin and Mary Poppins", have a problem the second they try to ground these films in the real world.
What about my boy Aquaman?
@Double Toasted Hey, dumb question, that's probably already been asked: Why 's there THREE of you there?:)
I didn't even know this was being made till now
anyone else hate that Korey pronounces the word "or" as "are'
I do
and the Oscar goes to... Martin Thomas for 17:05
Is it me or does Martin look divine with his fedora & now his finely groomed gray beard? If he shaved it off he would look years younger again also seeing Dick Van Dyke would make anyone happy.
any original songs in mary poppins returns?
Solomon Martinez I liked the balloon song.
Great Vid Guys.
I wonder, when these 3 guys were “rollin in the hood” when they were kids, do you think they ever thought thy would do a breakdown of a Mary Poppins movie?
I’m Mary Poppins Y’all!
This sound like Pooh LA movie & you guys said about the ending, I'm like oh. 😐
Another high skip from Disney.....
Remember that Simpsons episode when they made her go insane.
Yep
29:17 enter Uganda Knuckles
Desperate for money and need to bank on nostalgic fanservice? Mary Poppins will return.
This is the era of followers and try-hards. Of course the music aint touch the original.
Mary poppins got that toasty goodness all over her body.
Chim chimery chimmery chim Chim che-ree. Disney as Greedy as Disney can be
Chim chiminy, chim chiminy chim-chim cheroo. They'll take every cent of your money from you.
All the original needed was Hayley Mills, British, and at Disney then..and with ONLY SIX FLICKS at MOUSE to her name
Pollyuanna
The Parent Trap (that>Lindsays version)
In Search of the Castaways
The Moon-Spinners
That Darn Cat
Where is the old crew? I love this show so much
The first movie is better and the songs are more memorable
But Emily Blunt shines with her performance
The animated portion is the best scene and I love the choreography with the lamp guys
Cool cameos from Dick Van Dyke and Angela Lansbury
Just didn’t need to be over 2 hours
baker?????? how you get that out of banks? money or cash i could see but BAKER?????????????????????????????
All I know is she got one Hella of grip.
Cool rev my nogz
Daaaang Mary Poppins was sooo fine!
the guy in glasses is always useless in these reviews. all he do is laugh and he is not even funny with his comments too. unnecessary addition to this show.
The Mouse is really stomping on the author’s grave with this sequel.😒😒😒
Am i the only one here who think Emily Blunt is actually kinda hot as Mary Poppins.
8:59 i was going to ask if she was sime kind of demon.......but guess its been answered
