The SDF is made a deal with Assad (they still oppose him and his regime) and the HTS also seems to have a deal going with the SDF and other groups. The HTS is backed by turkey and is an islamistic group, however it seems that currently they dont murder christians and other muslims.

    Why do you judge the Kurds so disparagingly? How can you see them as the same 'shit' as you put it, as islamists or Assad? The SDF/YPG fighters are the ones that provided "boots on the ground" in the fight against Daesh/Islamic State of the Levant. SDF/YPG allied with western coalition; US UK and France in the fight against Daesh. The YPG intervened to safe the Yazidi people from Daesh. The Kurds or the SDF/YPG wish for independence does not deserve the contempt you have expressed. I'm Italian not a Kurd. I'm a keen supporter for Ukrainian and Georgian independence from Russia.

    • @kevinkanter2537
      @kevinkanter2537 День тому +6

      agreed - they were the best soldiers and most committed against Daesh --- it is too bad that their political arm (Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK)) which argues for a Kurdish homeland and a country carve-out is a major part of their identity - since the territories involved (Syria, Turkey, Iraq & Iran) put them at odds with everyone in the region. Also, their insurrection in Turkey garnered them the "terrorist" designaton by UN + EU / NATO --- even the US I believe still has them designated a terrorist organization (though there is a strategic ambiguity held between the PKK and the Kurds --- plausible deniability ...).
      Problem is that when Turkey attacked the Kurds they gave a US ammo / fire base a heads up --- via a call between Erdoga & Trump -- just long enough for diplomatic niceties & trump, as usual, screwed them over and did not warn either Kurds or his own military. The result was a major incursion into Syria,, a shelling and destrution of our arms depot with the evac of several dozens of our soldiers from the artillery barrage Turkey used to ensure the weapons were'nt transferred to Kurds, as well as a Turkish army appearing against the Kurds. Our soldiers were treated in Germany with over-pressure trauma --- while trump said there were no injuries, only headaches.....
      sorry for the rant but the pernicious behavior of trump when it comes to respect for our armed forces and those of our allies is beyond the pale ---- and why anything he does should be suspect.

    I don't know if the picture of rebel forces in Syria is fully clear. Remember, it was Kurdish forces that seized the int'l airport in Aleppo. They are working in tandem with the other rebels, made up of literally dozens of groups that have all made common cause against Assad. Painting them all as bad guys, well, I don't think it's that simple, especially the comment that the rebels want to ethnically cleanse Kurds when Kurds are literally fighting side-by-side with them. There has been a lot of fear-mongering spurred on by Ruzzian disinformation, but remember, the leading Catholic cleric, a Franciscan, fully supports the main Islamist rebel group that runs Idlib province, the rebels have ensured churches have remained open and Christians be treated well and not molested in any way. So there's that.

      Well, it's like the people of North Korea believing the birds and insects listen to their conversations and report back to Un everything they say. It sounds TOTALLY ridiculous and even comical to us, but to them it's a hard fact because it's likely been passed down from generations and it's what they've been told since birth.

    Re: no good guys in Syria - everything yellow on your map is under Kurdish control. Just like in Iraqi Kurdistan, they aspire to a lifestyle that is a) secular, b) egalitarian (they protect oppressed minorities within the borders they control, and espouse relative gender equality in their ranks). Were it not for the fact that the Turks control the Bosporus and Dardanelles straits, the Kurds would 100% be the West's strongest ally in the region next to Israel. But, because of that inconvenient geopolitical truth of those straits, we all have to collectively kiss Turkey's ass, even as they become more autocratic and ethnonationalist.

    Georgy we love your video's so do not take this wrong. But what kind of Security Agreements remember the security agreement of Budapest, it is a joke any agreement involving anything to do with Putin is just of no value. We all common folk know this non of our Western or European as well as Russia can not be trusted to support Ukraine down the road history tells us this. So Ukraine continue on your road of self determination and do not trust anyone. Become strong with your own defence industry and true friends in the Netherlands as well as the Baltics and a few others. Glory to Ukraine and their Heroes.
