Had I heard the Truth coming out of this gentleman decades ago I couldve gotten myself gotten myself out of the grip of psychiatrists and polydrugging.
Nonetheless ive heard this message and I'm proud to say that I am now undrugged after 40 yrs of poly psychotropic drugging and misdiagnosing.
Thank you to these brave few drs fighting for the Truth.

I really admire the part where peter says that as a therapist you must unconditionally love your patients. I think the world needs to follow the practice of unconditional love more often.

Interesting thought however that's where I personally disagree with him. I don't think a therapist should love their patients in any way shape or form. A therapist should know how to detach themselves at the right time from their patient so that the patient does not develop dependency.

@@elizabethhastings5757 W/all due respect, Liz; I believe that u r taking the word "love" (& its definition) somewhat out of context. Dr. Breggin's meaning of "(unconditional) love" is accepting & appreciating individuals 4 whom they r & don't change them just bc u don't like how they behave (i.e.: force them on psych meds 2 "control" the behavior). Maybe I'm misinterpreting what u r conveying but I digress.

A couple more months, and I am off. I know what these drugs do to your brain, and I would never recommend to anyone withdrawing in such a speedy way. The best of luck for you 😊

You definitely can by living as healthy of a life as you can (get enough sleep, dont drink alcohol or do any other drug, eat as healthy as you can and get enough micro nutrients, exercise as often as you can including heavy lifting and cardio with sprints). People have experienced recovery that even if partial, often times has been enough to live an enjoyable life.

Did you tried vitamins? It's recommended for schizophrenics to take Omega-3 (25% reducation in positive and negative symptoms), B vitamins (B6, B8, B9 preferably methylfolate, B12; reduced symptoms compared to group that just take medication), vitamin D, probiotics help some patients (A 2017 Johns Hopkins study found that probiotics ease delusions and hallucinations in some people with schizophrenia. There are many kinds of probiotics on the market, so look for ones with Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus reuteri, and Lactobacillus fermentum. People with schizophrenia who took a probiotic that had all those strains daily for 12 weeks, along with high doses of vitamin D, reported large improvements in their symptoms, according to a 2019 study).
It may not help but it's simple intervention

My 3yr olds mom who I live with started taking Adderall 8 months ago for her eating disorder. We're both in recovery. I was against it but didn't want to fight about it. She was supposed to just be on the lowest maintenance dose but is now at 40 mgs daily. The person I knew is gone and it is sad that she fought 20 yrs to get clean and sober only to legally get back on stimulants. My kid definitely notices. I care about her deeply but there's nothing I can do.

I have to be honest about my experience. No one ever told me that God in heaven would have a one on one loving relationship with a person. I discovered if someone confesses they will turn from self serving, any sin, and invite Jesus inside as Lord and Leader they are given a new full of love heart. After I decided to try Jesus, (that's what I told myself) I had light bulb eyes, I could feel God's hugs and love, I could hear the Holy Spirit talk to me as He sees Jesus over us not a impure heart. I felt loved inside for me when i gave up me, and God put in me a better heart. I surrendered to Jesus as shepherd. I became one of his body. Love flows from Him and through his body of true Believers. Im never alone as a friend is inside me all the time. Giving my heart to Christ gave me peace love and joy 🕊💗✨️

I do wish everyone would lay the hell off of benzodiazepines because they have an important role. Several times a week the nurses lives are saved when very powerful psychotic men are given this safety valve.
You can also prevent cardiovascular events in situation of extreme distress.
Used responsibly, every bit as safe & effective as they were 50 years ago. They prevent and I’m suffering and they often break the grass I was suicidal crisis.

Benzos should never be given for any mental health problem, there are safer alternatives. These drugs cause permanent injuries.

Try vitamins for depression (research it on Google, my depression probably was caused by constant pain of vitamin D deficiency); anti-inflammatory diet; exercises (in the long run exercise beats antidepressants plus exercise; walking is good, it has additional benefits like sun for your eyes, good for eyes, vitamin D); gratitude, success and what made you smile today journal

      Story Time:
When I was 15 I worked as a nurses aide in a nursing home. One day, a little lady who was always very sedate - never really moved from her chair, except when I took her to the bathroom, became volatile and angry toward me when I tried to help her up to walk with her. I called the DNS to come see what was going on, and she told me: "They must have missed her med." I asked what med she was on, and it was Thorazine. So, the one day she didn't have it, she came alive and got angry, and I thought to my 15-year-old self that I'd be pretty ticked off too, if I'd been drugged up for years and tied to a chair all day. Ugh. (This was back in the late 70s.) The "medical" community often sucks.

I was prescribed Thorazine @ age 10 in 1977; that nasty drug ruined my sexual development. Needless 2 say (pardon me @ the risk of TMI), I've nvr had sexual intercourse in my life (I'm 55; DOB: 7/20/1967).

+Tracey Duffy Well that's great news. Thing is I was on SSRI for a short time (for about a month) and I didn't want to taper a whole year, I cold turkeyd it. I was on max dose unfortunately so it didn't work, the first months I didn't feel lobotomized but now I do.

Please look for functional medicine doctor and/or naturopathic practitioner in your area. Help is out there but you must keep searching and researching. God bless you.

Maybe “compassion” not “love”… Dr. Breggin uses string language! To ask therapists/clinicians to be 100% different than other humans is incredibly aspirational (they are merely human themselves, as Breggin states himself repeatedly and to his credit). Dr. Breggin was hated by colleagues of his and yet *in the last 15 years* many will cite their having had a good relationship with him, and often agreeing with his ideas. This video was published/posted 8 yrs ago, I know. We have ketamine etc now (which if any drug was repurposed “off label” based on good clinical studies, that one should’ve been allowed 10 years earlier than it was outside of its primary research use (or observations of its effectiveness in depressed patients) at Yale in the 1990s). Dr. Breggin has been incredibly prescient (or early) in recognizing drugs have scattershot effects on both brain and the rest of the body… they do not “target” any “condition” we socially define.

*Edit…Should be obvious it’s a typo, but as to “string language,” no linguistic gymnastics was intended: “STRONG LANGUAGE.”
