No! 1) I'm willing to guess that half the general population would endorse these four symptoms (I certainly did), yet gold-standard measures say only about 4% of the population actually has ADHD. 2) Even in folks who endorse all the textbook symptoms of ADHD there are dozens of other conditions that need to be excluded before ADHD can be properly diagnosed. 4) Self reports of ADHD symptoms are notoriously inaccurate, and can lead to both over- and under-diagnosis. Proper diagnosis is made through extended clinical observation, sometimes aided by objective testing such as computerized tests of attention done both on and off stimulants (although testing isn't absolutely necessary or accurate without clinical correlation.

I said yes to everything but I feel like a lot of people did. Those are pretty common symptoms except the laat one, I can listen to friends without interrupting. Not lectures but friends
I think the main thing is if you have one or two, you’re probably okay but if you’ve got multiple symptoms and it affects your work and social relationships, that’s where the problems come in and that’s when ADHD is diagnosable. If you can get by whilst having those symptoms then you probably don’t have it, but for people with ADHD it makes everyday life a struggle. I often feel like I’m trying to get from one side of a swamp to the other and I’m wading through this thick goo that’s just slowing me down, and it’s like the harder I try to get through it, the harder it pushes against me

Dr Fruitman, in your experience, how do you go with the long term efficacy of stimulant treatment? Dr Fruitman, in your experience, how do you go with the long term efficacy of stimulant treatment? I have recently being diagnosed and prescribed stimulant medication which has been extremely helpful and made a large difference, however my one concern is that tolerance seems inevitable and one can only increase the dose so much. I am concerned that in the long run my brain will eventually go back to baseline even with the medication.
What are your thoughts on this?
