Ramadan dates: stuffed dates with nuts & coated with chocolate + date balls with Arabian flavor

Plain dates are usually the first thing we eat to break our fast (we fast from sunrise to sunset) during Ramadan because of their nourishing benefits. In Saudi Arabia, they serve chocolate- nut dates and date balls with coffee or as a welcoming treat.
I love to serve those as a dessert and they are a must have on my table during Ramadan.
Dates with nuts and covered with chocolate are very easy to make at home and it could be made with caramelized nuts for extra crunch and caramel flavor…. And don’t miss my date balls cause they taste amazing.
Ingredients for dates with chocolate and nuts:
pitted Medjool dates
Toasted nuts of your preference
dark melted chocolate
melted white chocolate
For caramelizing nuts:
1 tablespoon butter
3 tablespoon honey
1 cup nuts (any kind)
Ingredients for the date balls:
2 cups pitted Medjool dates (about 260 g)
Pinch of salt
1/4 cup walnuts
1 teaspoon rose water
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/2 cup pistachio
Tips:
For roasting hazelnuts: Place on a baking sheet in a preheated oven to 180°C/350°F for 7-8 minutes. When hazelnut are out of the oven, rub in a kitchen towel to get rid of the peel.
Date balls should be stored in the fridge.

I added hazelnut to have caramelized hazelnut. You can use other nuts as well like peanuts or almonds.
