Dude, this is some of the best transformation scenes I have ever seen animated. Most transformation is usually zoomed in or cut away or it’s very uncanny but you just manage this to be PG and somewhat creepy at the same time.
Or if you watched Pokemon, turn the character into a silhouette and then transition the shape into the final form. Still better than what evolution looks like in the games (talking about Gen 1-2 and 4-6 evolutions in the anime and gen 6-9 evolutions in the game), but it's still a step under what we see in here.
@@SpiritDetectiveCarter I was thinking just that , the industry standard is 24 so thats just what i assumed, it looks to be about 12 tho, i could be wrong but toniko seems like a 24 kinda guy. Even so just cut that number in half you get 348.
Its funny how the animation at the beginning was smth really traumatic for that oc, pain and suffering at it's best and then finishes with the intro music being *omg happiness and rainbows*
awesome transition, you get from "oh shit, he is transforming, we're doomed" 0:00 instantly to "let's have fun by learning to animate!" 0:28 pure perfection
Working on the polish for my short film currently, which involves monster transformation. I was going to take the lazy route by cutting when it happens, but I think this has inspired me to try harder!
I wish youd use more sounds in your animation. But for the most part it is beautiful, and this transformation is played out in a very original way. I really liked the lightning bolt and the way you used textures to create a realistic environment. The sister's pain is very clearly conveyed. Your previous video touched me a lot and made me push my project, abandoning parts I wanted to work on more, but couldn't, for the sake of others
This is amazing amazing!! I love transformation art and animation so it’s super cool to see how someone does it!! I can’t animate myself but I do have a similar thought process for my sound design and voice acting work, thinking about how each muscle change would sound, what kind of grunt or scream the character would make when certain parts of her body changed, etc! It’s so cool to think of stuff like this!
This brings me back to when I first started animating. I had no clue how to do it, and I just worked through it by touching it out. However I got better at art and my new style made it difficult to animate characters so I dropped animating. Now I’m dipping back into animation as my style has evolved a lot yet again, and while it’s still difficult I’m getting used to animating. I still need to learn notes but I’m practicing when I can.
This cool animation man🤯🔥 I think you should make your own series and me too I would like to make my own series but it is okay if I make anime in manga style
I would love to work on a project with this guy dude you need to make this into a show I would definitely watch it and I'm not just saying that because it's cool I'm saying because this has a hell of a lot of potential I know a couple of people who would be good voice actors if you wanted to make this into a show
I like going through scenes in cartoons and anime where people turn into monsters and animals, and I like to find out who animated them, it’s kind of ironic that two of the most disturbing transformations in anime were animated by Studio Ghibli animators the party goers turning into demons from DevilMan The Birth was animated by Masaaki Endo and Tetsuo turning into a giant blob from Akira was animated by Shinji Otsuka.
Excellent video, sir! Reminds me of how one of my passion projects is an idea for an animated television series where three siblings travel to a fantasy realm where they meet and befriend three dragons. The dragons in the series have the ability to transform into humans, like in American Dragon: Jake Long.
that's got to be inconvenient when you're stuck on the toilet and then all the sudden you change into a dragon and break the surrounding walls and spurting plumbing pipes
I have an unrelated question...how do you draw firearms for animation? I understand the first step but how do you keep the weapon consistent and not crooked? Thanks.
3D Models is usually the answer. Essentially, your characters are empty-handed in the scenes. Then you have a 3D model of a gun & you just animate that by itself, giving it the same motions. And then you just merge the two. Even in older productions they‘d usually manually rotoscope guns. Because indeed, keeping them consistent is a major headache that can hold up entire productions. ^^
At the end you shoulda had a cut to some average Toei animation that looks like when you flip back and forth really quickly between two drawings to depict motion.
I have a question: How does one go about animating a Magical Girl style transformation with body horror and creepy imagery involved while still clearly being cute and magical girl esc? Asking this because I'm a beginner and my personal passion project involves typical cute magical girl stuff but also features horror themes and imagery (also this isn't a bait N switch like Madoka Magica this is a Precure style series based on the idea of phobia inspired magical girls and is both a love letter to the magical girl genre but also the horror genre as well!)
The OG version of this scene is what made me go "Okay I'm going to start animating"
So badass to see the final version of it
Extreme animation *cuts to cute puppy*
ong 💀 and the fact that Toniko's voice is so calm and happy about it too

Then in Asia we have Hakkenden where Wing muscles slowly push out of an arm

Wow, how many frames of animation did this transformation scene take?
Are you watching on pc?
24 fps * 29 Seconds = 696 Frames
@@wolfguy1894 wow nice
Did you see it in the video?
@@wolfguy1894 I think they meant how many individual frames. I don't think he made it using 1s

Your short film, Dusk's Flight is on my playlist for Indie/Fan Animation Winners 🏆!! You Rock😝🤘🎸

Make the sounds for him cuh
I mean if he didnt want to work on the sounds then having cheap sounds all the way through works
This looks incredible.. giving me both anime and Disney vibes. Well done.
Proof that human creativity are still way better than AI
The point of AI was never to do that
AI just generate things
We as humans, we create things
You're promoting your ideas anyway 🤷
AI Do what Humans Script inside them..

The fluidity of the animation is astonishing!
Damn i found the maniac behind this awesome animation. I love it as much as it makes me unconfortable

This animation sequence genuinely made me want to cry... that's some powerful stuffs right there...
That was wild 🔥
Omg, I aspire to animate my dreams like that
The way the light silhouettes the dragon form and wings through the smoke was *chef's kiss*
*You've fueled the deviant art horde what have you done*

BEST TRANSFORMATION SCENE EVER
no words, i am speechless
what, this is just so cool! Youre doing such a good job, keep going!! 😍
That is flippin epic.
Traditional 2D computer animation is borderline a lost art form at this point.
reminds me of the Don Bluth era of animation. very good.
Holy crap that was awesome 00:00
Seems cool

Hi I love your work. I wanted to ask if you’re open for commissions on a short promo piece?
dam I didn't know you finished this, I remember when it was just sketch frames lol
I don't know who you are, but this is very cool
Very interesting thanks you 👍
so underrated
That intro... genderswapped Beauty and the Beast
That was a nice jacket
The looks on her face was so alive and relatable. What app or program where you using?
Interesting 😮
Is that bug from kipa dave??

Make a movie!! Amazing!! ☺️☺️
That beginning is how I imagine the beast from Beauty and the Beast was first transformed after getting whacked by that old lady.
Очень круто! Но надо всегда крылья делать побольше. Масса тела = скорость взмахов +размер крыльев для взмаха.
The short reminded me of Disneys brother bear
Look up how they animated the Moose its insane
Kinda reminds me of "Made in Abyss"

did you use any reference? amazing work
