    About 4 minutes in, my wife asked if we could watch something else. I'll go back to it eventually, but she couldn't take it.

    I love how EJ thought the bad editing was making fun of Bohemian Rhapsody 😂

    Thank you for this video you just saved me an hour and 30 minutes because I started watching up to the part where the polka party and had to stop (muh kids). Won’t be picking back up anytime soon 😂

    Walk Hard is fucking amazing! In my top 5 fave comedies of all time for sure. When i was watching the Elvis movie, all i could think of is "Wow, this is basically Walk Hard" LOL

    I liked for what it is as a long time fan of Al's, having watched UHF and the Weird AL show. Sure it could have been better, but it's decent for what it is.
    Thr funny thing is he already has a mockumentary of his life story from the mid 80's called The Compleat Al.
    So if you like This is Spinal Tap, or say Gangster Rap the Glockumentary it would be more up your alley.

    I liked it for what it was, I have a soft spot for Al, and that kind of humour. In fairness, though, I think it would have been better served as a VH1 style mockumentary, the type that they would do about Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, or some other band. Play it completely straight, say your jokes in a serious way, even use the "Bus crash in a desert and then tragedy struck" stock footage.

    btw, what did you guys think of editing in Clerks 3? I personally found it rather wonky in some dialogue scenes.

    Aw - that's too bad you didn't like it? I've never seen "Walk Hard" so I've never seen a Parody of a Biopic. I also knew almost nothing about this move before I started and when I realized what was going I on, I found it very entertaining! But ah well..

    I'm heartbroken it isn't just a fun but true to facts movie. Maybe one day i'm gonna be in the mood of "just watching random fun with Weird Al", right now the "oh boy oh boy, long awaited biopic of Al is coming oh boy oh boy" is still very active in me. They misrepresented the project up until the first trailer if you ask me.
    HOWEVER.
    I see how it would be impossible to make a feelgood goofy lovable actually biographical film of Weird Al, his parents did die from carbon monoxide poisoning in their home, and he did do a concert, JUST after learning about what happened. This makes such an idealistic movie impossible. (And Al kind of a sad hero, i mean, wow, some much much bigger stars screw up half a tour for catering shenanigans)

    The weird al movie done in a private parts movie style would have been so much better. My wife and I went into this blind and about half way through we were like, wait he didn't date Madonna did he? Then I soon caught on to what they were doing and was disappointed. I legit would have loved to have seen his actual story. I mean let's be real unless your already familiar with weirs al your probably not going to watch this anyway, so who was this for? Maybe if I had known ahead of time I would have been prepared for a comedic take, but I honestly wish they would have done it like the movie private parts did.

    Are we really at a point where we're complaining that a movie is a normal movie length? An hour 50 minutes?! Whoa! I could watch 16 Star Wars cartoons in the time it takes to watch that.

    • @RedCowArcade
      @RedCowArcade  Рік тому +1

      No, we’re complaining that it’s 1 hour and 50 minutes and wastes a bunch of it’s runtime and therefore the audience’s time. How are you confused about a critique that some ideas don’t justify their runtimes?

      @@RedCowArcade felt the same way about the new matrix movie. Something that could been said in 30 minutes goes on and on like filler tracks on a bad CD album.

    I agree with a lot if what you guys spit... however Weird the AL Yankovic story is absolutely hysterically funny and chaotic. In my opinion its a gem. I don't get the critique you made... I really don't. Dewey Cox is better??? Whaaaat??? That movie missed the mark on so many levels although it is funny... anyways agree to disagree I guess.

  • @mulvi747
    @mulvi747 Рік тому +2

    I enjoyed Weird. Not gonna say it was an amazing laugh a minute 10/10 comedy because it wasn't, but I certainly felt like it was a solid movie. It had some good laughs and appropriately silly/entertaining parts... at 1hour 40minutes long it didn't overstay it's welcome. I'll probably check it out again a few years down the line.
    I do somewhat agree with you that Walk Hard does this kind of musician biopic parody better than Weird does. Walk Hard was poking fun at biopics of the time like Walk the Line and Ray, and our recent biopics are films like Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman. These movies are still cut from the same cloth as the previous generation of this type of film was... so I feel like as long as these Oscar bait musician biopics are being released, maybe we could use one of these parody films every 10-15 years or so. I feel like there's space for both Walk Hard and Weird.
    Anyways, always appreciate your perspective Frankie.
