This woman is the best teacher ever. All of her videos are incredible, useful and very easy to understand.
I am a new teacher and am now always sure how to explain everything to my students, Your videos are a life-safer. Thank you!
Which is correct?
has anyone of you got this?
Or
have anyone of you got this?
The "Any" indefinite pronouns CAN be used in positive sentences not just for questions but also to mean "whichever person/place/thing." For example, "You can invite anyone to the party." or "I would go anywhere with you."
@@thomasmccormack4796 I couldn't agree more thank you
Just the best explanation I've ever seen about this subject! You're an excellent teacher I'd like to thank you for helping me, not only me but also others English students!
Thank Rebecca! I´m so happy because it is the first time someone gave an excellent explanation.
Which is correct?
has anyone of you got this?
Or
have anyone of you got this?
@@jawadg6012 The correct answer is:
Has anyone of you got this?

Hello, " Miss Rebeca"
After ten years , I come here to thank you for shooting this video again. I still remember asking to shoot It. I learned a lot from you . I used to watch your videos before teaching my students. I am Ricardo Almeida. I used to email you. I have watched your videos again and you have kept it up! Thanks again. Hugs from Brazil.
Nice summary, but there are more uses of the 'any' words. They can also be used to express potential, as in 'She can do anything', 'Bring anyone you want to the party' or 'In my car we can go anywhere.'
Finally, if I say SHE WILL GO SOMEWHERE TOMORROW, I am stating that she has plans to go to a place tomorrow.
But if I say SHE WILL GO ANYWHERE TOMORROW, she does not really care to what place to go. The speaker or any listener can choose the place for her, because she will go.
Thanks Ms Rebecca I Much Appreciated for this useful and Precious Knowledge.
Thank you!! I just needed an explanation as clear as this one!
I have to write a comment! Thank you very much for clear explanation. I've watched a few videos, read a lesson in a English grammar book and still couldn't fully understand when to use particular words. Now I understand! Thank you !
Thank you, Rebecca! Always looking forward to your videos.
You teachers from Engvid are the best teachers I've ever seen on UA-cam.

Ms. Rebecca, You're doing a great job. Thanks for these videos. When is it appropriate to use someone and somebody? I've seen a lot of people use them interchangeably. Could you please explain this with some examples? Thank you.
Thank you so much Ma'am, I hope you are in good health. God bless you!!
excellent explanation teacher, thanks
This video helped me a lot 💜 thank you from the bottom of my heart
Thank You!
Love from Afghanistan. :)
I have no confusion about this lesson,
I haven't any confusion about: no and any, some.. thanks Rebecca
Thank you so much, this video helped me a lot!!
thanks very much
your lessons really helped me :)
Thank you so much for the video.
Also, as Waderiver said, 'some' and 'any' words can be used contrastively in similar sentences to express specificity. 'I want to go somewhere' means there's a specific place I want to go'. 'I want to go anywhere' means I want to go somewhere, but I don't mind where. You can also way, for example, 'I'd rather be anywhere than here', 'I'd rather do anything than die', or 'I'd rather be stuck in a lift with anyone except you.'
In Canada we spell no-one with a dash, because anyone, someone, and everyone are all single words (or) one word, so why would no-one be written as two words? No-one is always spelled with a hyphen.
i've a question when am i using somebody or someone in a affirmative sentence i have to add the letter s or es for the verb or not?
this lesson went exactly in the point that i was needing understand. thanks a lot ^^
what about "don't you want to go somewhere?"
hi.u recorded the best video about this topic 13years ago . thanks roboca
The best explenation!!!
Thanks from Brazil 😊
You are the best English teacher.keep it up
By saying that any is used for questions she seems to imply that some is not.
The following question would be correct if maybe used in a bank: Can I see someone about my account?
WHERE AS
Can I see anybody about my account implies that you would even consider speaking to the cleaner and not necessarily someone who is qualified to help you.
Did you find someone /anyone at the party? Is it possible to use someone in questions? I ve read some articles yes?
@descontroladoxelrock no u cant " i wanna go somewhere
Thank you. Your lessons is very helpful
Would you like something to eat?
I would like a slice of pizza 💖🥰🥰🥰✨✨✨🧁🧁
Thank you.
hi mam rebecca i have a question... i just confused.. anything, anyone etc, we can use them as negative or question sentences... but how about the something, we can use something for question...example, would you like to eat something? or would you like to eat anything?... what is the correct question there?...
please... help me here... thanks in advance...
Thank you very much! That is a doubt that many esl students have. I simply use them without thinking, and wouldn't be able to explain. You helped me. Congratulations.
thanks dennis from philippines
Great info.
excellent teacher God bless you
why someone sometimes is used in an interrogative form?
for example in this sentence on my book:"have you got a fact wrong about someone else?"
have you got a wrong fact about anyoneelse?
Is anyone hungry?
Do you need anything for travel?
Do you eat anything before lunch?
Do you eat anything besides pasta?
Do you listen any songs?
do I need to go anywhere?
Do you remember anything?
Can you do anything useful?
Is it possible to love anybody ?
Thank you much. It is easy to understand.
Thank you so much teacher>

Awesomeeeeee. Great job
Hi Rebecca, "Nobody need his opinion" correct or "Nobody needs his opinion" correct?
wee seng yeen nobody needs his opinion is right.
wee seng yeen it talks about third person singular.
Hi Rebecca, Thanks a lot for your lessons. Can you pls let me know when "else" is added to those words discussed in the videio. Thanks
there;s nowhere to go ? it perhaps means that we couldn't find such a place to go either or we aren;t sure whether to go or not.
Hello! Rebecca, could you explain the following: "Would you like something to drink?" is a question so why do we use "something" instead of "anything"?
Thank you!
+Хельга Иванова because for questions when you offer somethink to drink you can use some........
You can actually say either one. "Would you like something to drink?" and "Would you like anything to drink?" are both acceptable sentences in English.
your teaching is excellent
Tq 😊
Very efficient explation.
Thank you mam for your classes
It helped a lot !Thanks!
Can I use: "do you need somenthing to drink?" or "Do you need something to eat?", for exemplo? Because, if its at the final on the sentence is 'anything', but is it 'something' at the middle?
Nayara, everytime that you're offering something, you will use "some", if you are asking something, for example: "Can I have some coffee?", you will use "some" again. Besides these two situations, you will use "any" in the interrogative form. Ex: "Is there anyone here?"
Thank you you explained this really good
Thank you so much, Rebeca. I enjoyed a lot your video. I got it clearly.
Perfect explanation...but something is missing..how about everyone everybody everything and everywhere..can you make a video of this...thanx and God Bless
Tq so much mam i have never ever seen this video this helped me a lot

Thank you so much for this lesson but I am still confused about the difference of someone and somebody.
Please share with me if someone have more effective resource about that.
Thank you and happy New Year.
Best regards,
They mean the same thing.
You can use either one of them in a sentence to mean the same.
Ex: I met someone/somebody at the park.
Someone /somebody has taken my car keys.
it has noise but it was veerry good
Thank you!! it is very clear now.
thank you so much! It is so useful and understandable video!!!!
Thank you very much !
What is the difference between. There's nothing in the box vs. There's nothing in this box. Are they both correct?
Did u mean the difference between "There's nothing in the box" vs "There isn't anything in the box? Nothing :)
Paulo Henrique Guimarães Hello; We put( NO + positive verb) eg: I have no money ,I have no friends , but we use (ANY + negative verb) i don't have any money,I dont have any friends. tha'ts why in the examples. there isn't (negative verb WE USE ANY) and there's = there is (positive verb ) we put NO
bye
Great video, thank you very much!
Thank you so much ! Rebecca

Is learning grammar important to speak English? Or just listening to native speaker is enough?
Ms. Rebecca, do you use ''no one, nobody, nothing and nowhere'', ONLY with the word ''THERE IS'' for positive sentences? Yes, not and why? thank you.
Thanks a lot!!! Totally clear.
we are talking about singular person
