Yes! If you search for "play superfrog" the first few results appear to work. At least for the DOS version (which I'm familiar with). Not sure if there's an Amiga one floating about.
Glad to hear you like it! I got a new record a little while ago but was streaming it on Twitch while listening to music so it's having trouble showing up on UA-cam due to copyright issues (oops). I'm going to try to work to improve it so I can have a better video to show, so stay tuned!
It's tricky and I will admit it almost made me give up on the game :) Really you just have to mash the flap button really fast. Without wings it's impossible, but there are a number of those powerups in the room so hopefully you can get it before running out of powerups. I do make a point to try to leave some of the wing powerups along the way there so if I do screw it up I can grab those on the second attempt and not lose too much time in the speedrun.
No Project F? Oh well; a very impressive effort just the same. :-) Also, I wonder if Ethan Van Sciver would be open to a Cyberfrog and Superfrog crossover... ;-)
twitch.tv/josemite42... haven't streamed in over a year but with the latest Midwest Speedfest and SGDQ I've been more inspired to carve out time to make it happen. I'm definitely wanting to get a new PB/WR out. And this is the only amiga game I currently run, and I do the DOS version of it :) Robosparkle plays a number of Amiga games but not sure if he still plays/streams... his twitch channel looks pretty quiet.
Nice speed run, yeah not a great deal you could improve on, probably mostly all those hits you took in the last levels. I know this game inside out from my Amiga days, the graphics are amazing for its time and that final boss... Well, at least it tells us why there are no end-world bosses throughout the game, it's obviously not their forte :) Thanks for the nostalgia.
They didn't include it in the DOS version of the game for whatever reason (probably since the mechanics are completely different and they didn't want to have to code that).
Yep the DOS version! Tried both but landed on DOS for a variety of reasons. GOG used to have this available through their website but not sure the best way to get it nowadays.
Haha, yeah was wondering about that one for awhile, but it looks like it's based on your remaining time, so because I skip most of the Lucozade I don't have a ton of "extra" time banked up.
Haha, look forward to seeing some competition! This game definitely deserves more recognition! Let me know if you're streaming it and I'll tune in if I can :)
I'm not streaming but I may start soon, i'll make sure to inform you :) BTW, why DOS version? Load times? Personally, i've played DOS version recently and to be honest i'm not as good on it as I'm on the Amiga one, it has got slightly different physics..
The main reason was I couldn't get the emulation working properly, there would always be a slow waiting time between levels while the window resized a couple times. The physics are definitely different between the two, particularly for flapping (I'm pretty sure jumping up to the ledge at 14:48 is impossible in the Amiga version, you have to go around the intended way which is about 15 seconds slower). Also between the lack of an animation when discovering secret areas and no Project F I'm fairly confident the DOS version is faster.
Yeah, that trick at 14:48 is impossible, i remember how i tried to do it maany times. I've noticed differences mainly in jumping and overall smoothness(sometimes on DOS i'm getting a few frames of input lag, i'm pretty sure it isn't because i try to play it on a p120..) It's also funny that i can't beat even the first world without dying at least once on DOS and i was doing it without any problems on Amiga xD
Great speedrun! This is my favorite game too on amiga. I have played that new hd version too and it was good game also :)
wp man ! one of the best games ever made
Superfrog much better than Sonic.
1993, incredible, love it! Is it still playable online somehow?!

Optimisation of coin collecting would require a professional numberphile. My guess is theres more to save than 2 minutes.
Great run! Id like to hear some commentary. This is my favourite game on the amiga.

how do you do that long jump at the end on the last level?
I am having problems with it

Whats your chancel on Twitch dude? Do you usually speed run Amiga games?

where is the space level? :(

But's amiga version...?
Which version???
DOS ?
Or what else???
Yep the DOS version! Tried both but landed on DOS for a variety of reasons. GOG used to have this available through their website but not sure the best way to get it nowadays.
Why you keep getting just one coin for time each round?
Haha, yeah was wondering about that one for awhile, but it looks like it's based on your remaining time, so because I skip most of the Lucozade I don't have a ton of "extra" time banked up.
Nice, to be honest i'll try speedrunning sf myself! I'm a little bit better than you on the first world :P
