- I got quite a few comments suggesting I Am the Highway by Audioslave so I learned it a few days ago. It's really not an easy song to sing. I certainly don't have Chris Cornell's vocal range so I've tuned the guitar down an entire step so I can actually sing it. I hope you enjoy my take. Dude, AMAZING cover of my most favorite Audioslave song. I like your flair to it, you should try to add the second C/G to Am progression though, you play the first C/G > Am but then go G >Am when you sing "heels". That particular C/G>Am phrasing is why it's my absolute favorite Audioslave song, it add so much depth and character to get that bump and spirit.

This is such a great song. Thanks for posting.. I used to do it a half a step down in the last band. I been covering this song for a while in standard tuning. Eventually worked my way up lol. The guys in the band love when i sing it so i take it im doing it good enough to pump them up. I get a little intimidated every time though and i dont always perform it unless im really feeling it from my soul and i can pool the strength. Sometimes the guys say "lets do highway" and im like " idk man".. Sometime im like "lets freaakin do it". I have to call on Chris for the permission to use the power. Its very tough and to reach as deep as i do trying not to hold back one note and give the song and Chris Cornell all its justice. Maybe il post a video on my channel soon.
