He is still alive. I think this is something he began to understand before he left us. Unlike Layne, Kirk, or Andrew Wood...Chris lived long enough to grow out of the cynical skepticism that so marked his contemporaries and our age, in general.
This guy nailed it and has done great justice to this song and we need people to carry on things like this otherwise it dies.

Some of you folks are so strange, man. Mourning a stranger who wouldn't have pissed on you if you were on fire for years. I saw Cornell live a bunch of times, and while I'm a huge fan of what he did and what he was capable of as an artist... he kind of sucked live. He performed amazingly, but there was just always this vibe with him like he was too good for it and didn't give a fuck. Didn't seem like he enjoyed actually doing it, or appreciated the fact that all these people came and paid to see it.

Wow. Not only do you sound just like Chris, but you also manage to do it in a way where the lyrics don’t get lost in the stylization. As much as I love Cornell, I always had to search for published lyrics to understand half of what he was singing...don’t get me wrong, all the greats are like that, but it’s pretty damn cool that you’re nailing his style and it’s understandable to boot!

Abhishek Sharma Okay easy might be a bit much. 4:20 that “I” after “sky” has made me lose my voice on multiple nights. I’m obviously not even as good as this guy, let alone Chris, but it’s far from “easy” my friend. ;)
@@treble8921 I was always able to perform this song on multiple gigs and was my go to song during my time with the bands I had in college (10 years ago or so) but I would just end up mimicking his voice instead of understanding the real feelings. That's why I said easy but yeah you're right, it's not exactly easy to sing this. Hehe

So so good. Excellent vocals in one take especially. This isn't an easy song to sing, despite maybe considered as one of Cornell's more tame creations. So well done. Also the instrumentals are so cool, even a light country twang at times to help create a unique flavor to this cover. Ravi you rock.
