Well done! Glad to see you fill in the gap. It's a beautiful area.
I've only experienced the snoring, and that nearly drives me insane. I'm going with the cold.

I apologize for the delay in my comments. The Lowcountry had a monumental experience with “Debby”. Moncks Corner experienced 22”, a tornado and flooding. We are finally mobile since the flood waters have subsided. I had nothing to report, I am fine, secure and stayed ‘hunkered down’ until it was safe to be on the roads. My first excursion was “Chick Fil A”.. I needed my fix!! I pray your Summerville Family faired well and you too in PA since ‘Debby” travelled there too!!
I love your posts on your channel and it was a joy to see you and your Dad on Mt Washington!! You have every reason to be proud of yourself! What an accomplishment!! Thank You so much for sharing your journey with us strangers. I sincerely appreciate it. I have even re-watched some of your videos from the beginning..
It is amazing to me that I can become so attached to a stranger, someone I have never met, and love to watch their journey on the AT. For me it is searching for real, honest life vs the garbage that is on most channels on TV. I am addicted to the thru hikers and are still following, I have not disconnected from their channels.
I wish for you the best that life has to offer. Enjoy every minute you can, continue to add to your memory book and document all you can. Blessings, Marsha

Thanks so much Marsha. I haven’t been out to the channel in several weeks but just posted a day hike video and am catching up on comments. Thanks so much for following along. More adventures to come down the road…

Congratulations on finishing up! I look forward to future hikes from you. And a gear review. Glad the weather was perfect. Those views up high were amazing. I slept freezing a few nights and it was miserable. Snoring for me.I will miss your WYR. 😊❤

Good job finishing your thru hike. It shows what you can accomplish if you stick to it. Also your mood is much lighter on these day plus hikes compared to some of the stretches of the AT thru hike.

John what a difference weather makes! When we came over Madison the wind was blowing so hard, the AT had been closed. We waited at Madison and it finally opened but was so windy we had to hold on to rocks at the top. Felt so beat up we camped at Oswald campground. God surprised us with a Mama and baby moose as we ate supper. So fun!! Glad you got to see Nickels!

Congrats on the DONE. On the WYR: I've done both and I'll take cold over snoring any day!! I can get out of the tent, do jumping jacks to warm up and return to sleep. But I can't go over and whack the person snoring or shake him/her awake to change sleeping position. I was overnight this past July 6th at Madison and kept awake nearly all night by a snorer. As were the people in the same bunkroom (AND the next bunkroom, that's how loud!!) 'cause we discussed it at breakfast. I forgot about the free earplugs which would've helped some.

Yikes. When they can hear it in the next room that’s some serious snoring!

🎉👏👍. It was an epic adventure for sure. What an accomplishment! Congratulations. Glad I could tag along. Since your Dad lives in SC, consider doing the Foothills Trail. It’s 78 miles. Lots of Videos about it. I could shuttle you. Nice in winter too. Not in late spring or summer.

Was good to see your last two posts and I am on notification for future adventures.

Nice finish -- glad the weather cooperated perfectly. I can sleep through the snoring, which is why I don't camp alone -- a predator could easily sneak up on me. Again, congrats on being done DONE!

Epic finish! Spectacular views! Glad you cleaned up your missed miles so you won’t have that hanging over your conscience. Well done! Tough call but I’ll take the cold night over the snorer. Enjoy the football season!

Nice shout out to Nickels and Rocky. Did Nickels tell you about my neighbor and Rocky? If not, let me know and I'll tell you the story. Three consecutive wins for the Phillies, finally. You're a busy guy. Enjoyed the ride.

    • @JRooneyPhotos1
      @JRooneyPhotos1  4 місяці тому

No, he didn’t! I need to know…. And yes, about time the Phils got back on track

So a couple weeks ago, I'm talking to my neighbor about Nickels hiking the AT, and she says her son's friend Anthony is also hiking it, and may have already completed it. Then she adds, when he's done, he's going to school to become a priest. Now she's got my attention, because Nickels told me the same story about a hiker he met in Georgia, who also went to Behrend College (PSU). I asked her if he went to Behrend, and she says yes. I then asked her if she knew his trail name, and she says Rocky! What are the odds? If you contact Rocky, ask him about his friend David Boyd from Erie.

What a small world!! Rocky/Anthony is a super nice guy. I’m praying for him to be successful in his vocation.
