USB-C alone is enough for me to consider this. Bike lights have been embarrassingly slow to adopt this 6+ year old standard. This light is brighter than my future 😎
Using the Garmin to go pro adapter the way you show it puts the rn 3000 upside down . It cant be used this way can it? It defeats some of the features of the lens doesn't it?
I don't think it's a good idea to mount this a light on the gopro bracket upside down, given the anti-glare reflector optics. It loses its meaning and dazzles the driver :-(
Thanks man I just ordered 1 off your link cause you sold me pretty dam good I must say 2hrs light time on 3000Lum is insane without a separate battery so LET THERE BE LIGHT..🔋😅🤣👍🏽
Thanks for the great assessment! That is a very impressive light for sure. They should put another USB port on it for charging your phone. I paid $35 for my multi-mode 800 lumen lights and they are still working like a champ after 3 years and they work perfect for night mountain biking. Personally, I think 3000 lumens is serious overkill unless its on a tactical flashlight. I've even had cars flash me with 800 lumens. That surely should be a concern and it's not easy to dim unless you can easily free up one hand while riding, especially if mounted to your helmet.
Apparently this is light is designed with a cutoff beam, which is good safety feature for not blinding oncoming traffic... ...However, when the headlight is flipped over to used in tandem with the Garmin device mounting provided, does that make any sense??? The whole design idea of having a cutoff beam is to project the beam downwards to the street surface. Flipping the light directs the beam upwards. This is irresponsible and dangerous. I don't understand why no one has not noticed that flipping the light is 100% wrong. Locked In happens the reviewer of the light. Magicshine is the light producer. Can anyone of the mentioned, please comment back to me and explain if I'm missing something and that I'm wrong???
Cool video man. Do you know if you can run this with a batter pack attached and charging while in use? It would be great to toss an Anker battery pack in a frame bag to keep the unit charged up while using. Cheers.
I have a magicshine 906 with the external battery & love it. I wish I had purchased this light when I was shopping for something smaller. The light I ended up with has less output, charges via micro USB & cost the same. 😕
I bought one. Within 2 rides the mount had broken. On smooth roads. Just fell off and bounced down the road. I guess the light is too heavy for the mount. Magicshine UK refused to honour the warranty claiming that I crashed. Really bad service. I would avoid buying from them. I went back to 2 x fenix bc30 which are fine for me and come with a much better mount.
I’ve never had an issue and I’ve taken it on trails multiple times, for serious mtb I’d run the handlebar mount it comes with if your worried about the mount.
Damn, that happened to mine but it stayed on the handlebars luckily, but still it's not ideal. I have no spare money though so I'll have to stick with this for now. Do they sell a stronger mount?
I just got this light and the accessory out-front mount. I saw you have an Orucase Smuggler XL - how does it fit with the bag and the out-front mount combined? I am thinking of getting a Smuggler XL but was concerned about how it might fit with the out-front mount and the light.
Not a very good review. You didn't show the handlebar mount it comes with or share any details of it. A very important factor is the quality of the mount...does it shake on bumpy trails? What is the mount made of? We want a close look at it. Is it metal? Plastic? Rigid? Soft?.

It can be used as a battery bank, apparently.

Yeah, it’s upside down. The first thing I noticed when watching this video. Thankfully others saw it too.
Your video did it for me. Just ordered one. Thanks Brother.
Really good channel. I hope we keep getting your vids. Head up, champ! You're doing a great job with content and presentation.
Hello, it works while been charge via USB cable?
It's waterproof?
Where to buy it in Europe?

I’ll have to try that , I’ll respond if it works
Hi we don't actually suggest to. It hurts the battery magicshine.com/collections/bike-front-light/products/magicshine-rn-3000

Do you have a link for the garmin to GoPro adapter please? Thanks
Hello is the magicshine light company base here in the USA or China? I can’t seem to find the information on their website.
this light upside down is wrong. there is this diffuser on the top side o the glas

That's the mount I was using. And not even on trails. It sheared off on smooth roads!
And when I tried to leave the an honest review on the magicshine UK website, they removed it.

I have the.. it’s an olight. Or Magicshine…
Great light for the price, I have the 1500.
Hi, this light has instant burst mode like the fenix bc30? 🤔
Can you still use the light when used as a power bank ?
I haven’t tried that I’m not sure

It does touch the bag but it works I just use the foam spacers that come with the xl to lower it a tad to make more room
@@LockedinCycling thanks for the feedback! Do you recommend the Smuggler XL for day trips, etc?
Is this a good helmet light? And is it enough for advanced trail riding?
It be great but little heavy, check out my rn1500 light review I use that on my head with this as my front and its a killer combo
@@LockedinCycling ok, thank you very much
How hot does it get when in operation
Depends on ur speed , it’s warm to the touch but never over heated in my experience
Yes, speed and it has smart thermal control, with high quality aluminum alloy. magicshine.com/collections/bike-front-light/products/magicshine-rn-3000
Can the light be used and charged at the same time?
I don’t think so
Where you be. I need to be locked in weekly.
I have a question, can this light be used while charging?
I’m not sure actually I haven’t tried that , I’ll update the comment when I do
What are the dimensions (length, width height) please?
I’d check there site I believe they are listed
@@LockedinCycling can't seem to find it anywhere.
Does the RN3000 have auto shut off?
Mine never has
did anyone get this? mine fully charged to green, when i try to turn it on it’s blinking red then no light...
actually got it working when i held the power button until red blinking stops!
@@jiseoblim yea that is the Lock mode
That's a serious little unit
