Nice demo and review. I’m not sure about the Cub Cadet mowers due to reading many complaints about assembly quality and they are essentially Murray mowers with a nice name. I’m still looking.
Thanks Ted. This SC900 is one of the last big bore self-propelled lawn mowers out there. I would have bought a Toro but I can't stand the personal pace system or Honda's system either. I made the best choice for me. Good luck on you quest!
Thanks. If you are in the market for a new and powerful lawnmower and you don't want Toro's Personal Pace system this Cub Cadet fits the bill. That's why I made my purchase.
If you want RWD, a big motor, and a 23" "signature cut" this is the one! It looks like they've been discontinued so we are lucky we got one. BTW, did yours come with a gas cap?
Bert105. Yes it did, I purchased it last year already assembled at a Runnings store in upstate NY. Btw after seeing your video I also removed darth Vader shield and looks much better , thanks
Bummer for me. I ordered this mower and it arrived today. Opened the box and I see the front wheels are bent and the plastic that holds the cable attached to the handle is broke. I was really, really looking forward to using this mower.
You probably got the last one. Mine wasn't in perfect shape either. It had deep scratches on the deck and looked like it had been returned. It didn't even come with a gas cap! All that being said, it's still a good mower. Yours should be under warranty, have them send you the parts.
Bert105, thank you for the feedback. I just returned it to Home Depot for a refund. If I choose to re-purchase this SC900 it will be from my Cub Cadet dealer. I suspect most of these mowers get damaged during shipping. The box for my mower was pretty beat up. Thank you for being one of a few to take the time to showcase this mower for other to watch and learn.
They sent that mower to me, with the busted handle. I won't do business with them anymore, purchase of this mower total clusterfuk. This might be a good mower if you're 75 yrs old and got all day to mower. Worst self-propelled I have ever used, this mower is far too big to have to push around when it should be pulling you, and it sure bogs a lot for being a sc900. This is my last Cub
Thanks for the review! I’m considering this mower. Like you said, there aren’t many videos or much information about it. Two questions: 1) Does it leave a lot of clumps? I see in this video it does, but the grass is tall and wet. 2) Does it have a mulching blade with slits, or a standard blade?
Nothing special about the blade but its real sharp and now that its dryer out I don't see any clumping. I've also used the bag. Like some others I find the front becomes light once the bag is 1/3 full. Its just something you have to compensate for.
It cuts really good, mulchs and bags decent, you also can buy a side discharge in their site. I have it. Only thing I see over time is that the self propelled sistem works when on hard surface, but on grass I being pushing most of the time. I am seeking information on how to adjust the transmition cable.
It’s not a mulching blade. Your gonna have to install a mulching blade. Most manufacturers don’t put mulching blades on them. Put a mulching blade on my husky and I don’t hardly see any clippings afterwards.
Only my 2nd youtube video. I think I reached my goal which was to show this "bad boy" in action cutting thick lush grass. Glad you enjoyed the content.
The mower is working like-new. I keep it clean, I have to! The yellow color looks incredible but it does show dirt easier than other colors. That yellow color also means you're running a classic, a Cub Cadet!
I'm not a professional reviewer, just wanted people that watch UA-cam to see and hear the mower in action. It's my way of giving back to the community.

Thanks for sharing, nice video, Great Looking Lawn! Deciding between this mower and the sc500, I have their xt3 tractor, they make great equipment
its a mower its made to get dirty lol
Nice lawn mower and nice lawn.

I have same machine, cuts effortlessly, best mower I ever owned, love it

the mulching blade that came with the mower is horrible. Any suggestions?

Would you say you cut that twice?
I just purchased this mower but I'm having a tough time with the mulching part. looks like it's not chopping up the grass enough. Any help?
Make sure the mowing deck is reasonably clean underneath & sharpen the blade. 👍
@@bert10581058 thanks you it's a brand new mower It used it 3 times

I cannot find a mulching blade. Can you help me out with direct me to where I can?
Thanks for the information and great demo.

Just to let you know in case you wanted to find out who makes that engine on your lawnmower... it's a company called Powermore
Thanks. No problems so far but it's good to know.
How long is the blade ? Usually when a manufacturer states deck width the actual cut width is 1 to 2 inches narrower.
I believe the cutting blade is 22", that's why Cub Cadet added the 196cc engine. Can't wait to see my beast in action again!
@@bert1058 Thanks
Hey Bert, how’s she holding up ?

Thanks for the response Bert ! Happy mowing
He must have a great mulching blade .. mine is not that good at all
Nope he didn’t. I noticed when he tipped it up. Put one on it and this thing would mulch flawlessly.
All I can say is it's a great mower but the blade sucks. It's not a mulching blade at all
A terrible review, I learned nothing.
