    "just push"
    smallprint: and dont die to ganks
    seriously though, it's just as important what you do after pushing. recall, roam, ward or clear wards AND BE BACK IN TIME TO NOT LOSE MINIONS! That last part is SO important. I always see laners push and roam, but by the time they come back the enemy laner has pushed in 3 waves and took 12 plates.

      Honestly I don't understand how this isn't the most basic idea. You win by destroying bases so pushing lanes should always be top priority. Everything else is secondary.
      Yet somehow trying to push is also the easiest way to get screamed at and reported (which is slander and assault) for "feeding".

      Throughout my 10 years of playing League, I played every single role except jungle.
      Trying out jungle, and getting a grasp on jungle camp timing, was a huge eye opener in that it helped me learn how to roughly track the enemy jungler (even without vision), rather than them just showing up randomly.

    • @zat1245
      @zat1245 2 роки тому +13

      Biggest tips I have for that is tracking, saving self peel ability when extended up, and leaning.
      Tracking will help the most. Let’s say it’s Master Yi. At the start of the game, enemy bot lane is late to lane. This means Yi is starting botside. Yi likes to 5-6 clear camps. Using your jungler to estimate what number camp Yi will be on helps. Your jungler is on his third camp and is level 3, you can expect Yi to be so as well. If he is doing a full clear, he is botside. By leaning topside, he’ll be less incentivized to gank you and you can run into top river or up top side path if you’re really pushed up if he does. If he did a five clear, he’d be on wolves, though. This means, you’re a little close to him. No problem. As your jungler paths to his fourth camp, look at your bot. Determine if it is gankable by Yi. First, you should be looking in champ select to see their lanes and jungler. Is it likely bot or top will trade a lot? Which laner is dominant in the matchup? Who has cc? Who has good followup damage. All of these lean towards a jungler ganking. Junglers like lanes trading, lanes that will get ahead with a lead due to matchup, and cc (if they are high damage) or good follow up (if they are cc). Since Yi is high damage, he wants cc. If your bot lane is in threat of a gank, then it means Yi is likely to go there after three camps if it looks worth it to him. So, he’ll be near bot river. This is why we lean topside. HOWEVER, if he did a 5 camp, he is on wolves, too far away from bot and looks for the next best thing. Are you a little low? Does your laner have cc? If so, you are in gank threat. Since you don’t know how he started, and are in threat of either side I recommend a ward now. Ward the lane brush topside and lean topside. Since being near bot is more likely, we’ll assume that but use the ward to prepare ourselves. However, if you have a good form of peel, are healthy, and your laner can’t setup up cc for a gank, you are free to stay in the middle and just run to the opposite river if he comes, using your self peel to help escape. Once he shows, by either ganking a lane or meeting the jungler. You’ll be able to see his cs. By counting cs (I recommend learning) you can tell what clear he did for sure. Now, you now what camps will be up for the next rotation. Using this, you can determine again where he is likely to be using this and the state of each lane. You’ve now avoid the most crucial ganks and gained an early lead by pushing up this whole time. After you first back, you’ll have items, control ward, and you’ll be 6. Utilizing a control ward to guard your preferred side to gank, and a deep ward in their jungle timed by the buffs (since buffs are quickly gotten by the jungler on spawn) when you know they are on the other side that you aren’t leaning. Ward when you know the buff is coming up. If you don’t know, and the buff you’re trying to track is the buff he started on can use your jungler’s starting buff timer to estimate assuming he has done it every time it’s up. Either way, ward in a good location and watch. Where he paths after the buff tells you what side to be careful of him. If he goes out of sight near the river, lean to the opposite river. If he goes to the other side of the map, lean towards your vision. You can also, hover towards your control ward in between waves to discourage any ganks. This doubles as pressure towards your good side of the map, being closer to roam, being near for river fights on that side, and to stop any ganks with counter ganks if they path over your vision towards that lane.
      I know that was a lot of stuff and I know it’s hard to learn, believe me it took me a long time to get used to. But this will really unlock your ability to pressure and feel safe doing it. No ganks in your lane is a huge way to gain and keep an advantage and possibly waste the jungler’s time leaving your lanes unpressured if they try to get you.

    The comment about consistency and viewership is spot on. When I was trying to get out of Silver years back I watched SRO religiously and he always, then and now, explained the same concepts over and over; from wave management to the champion mechanics of a champion he literally had just used four times in the last six videos.
    That was a powerful thing, because I actually found myself thinking about his actions in those videos while I was in lane. I would, literally, imagine him talking about the wave and look at my own and think, "Oh shit this is a freeze!" That got me into Gold and stayed their consistently since.
    I started to narrow down my champion pool based on my playstyle strengths and weaknesses and started watching a one-trick on that champion, how they handle match ups and macro, and that got me to Plat.
    Consistency, especially from the source of your learning, is king.

      @@karsonkammerzell6955 If you think it's a matter of perspective, you must not be very well informed, so I'm going to do you a solid and explain the side of this guy that you've missed by only watching his UA-cam videos. Before that though, just know that getting to gold off someone's advice isn't really impressive relative to the advice-giver, and I don't say that as an insult to you. I'm sure you could have gotten there without whatever insignificant, beginner-tailored advice you got from him.
      Now about Solo Renekton Only: he's not a very good player (at least relative to those who typically give advice), he does almost nothing but smurf and wreck players at VERY low elo, and he's a gigantic douchebag to boot. It's to the point that he basically makes a living off bullying people and targets total beginners to give "advice" to. You won't see much if any obvious examples of it on his UA-cam channel because it's cherry-picked and often completely scripted content that he designs to make himself look good. A lot of content creators do this, but he's one of the worst offenders by far.
      You don't need that guy's help and if you got to gold, it's due to your own hard work and advice you could have gotten from literally anyone above silver, I promise you. Also, if he were actually a good teacher who was slinging good advice, you most likely would have climbed to at LEAST platinum. If you seek advice from someone who is actually good at the game, you will climb much more since you're clearly not bad at it on your own.
      You got to gold on your own. Don't give a gigantic douchebag underserved credit for it, and certainly don't go around praising him. He doesn't need or deserve that attention.

    2:05 I don't understand this statement. If the most high elo players are predictable, then wouldn't you fair better by acting differently than what most high elo players will do? Shouldn't the high elo players then mix it up so that they are harder to hit than low elo players?
    Low elo players are inevitably going to be less capable at dodging, so it doesn't make any sense to me to say that it's harder to hit them than better players.

    • @elizabethelune773
      @elizabethelune773 2 роки тому +3

      We cannot, as humans, do things randomly, because of that the higher you climb you start to see patterns on people movement, since most of the time you have to be able to play on your opponent next move instead of their current it is essentially easier to land skillshots on them because they are thinking about dodging the skillshot. Instead low elo players most of the time arent even aware of skillshots thus making them harder to hit because their movement is truly unpredictable.
      In the video you can clearly see zeri walking straight down, a high elo player will know by ahri positioning she's going for a charm, here the best bet is going either left or up to dodge. usually you learn to throw skillshot to where the opponent is waking to so right and down are the highest chances to land charm. By knowing this you can safely predict that zeri will walk up to dodge ahri's charm.

    • @clovermite
      @clovermite 2 роки тому

      @@elizabethelune773 " Instead low elo players most of the time arent even aware of skillshots"
      Doesn't this just mean you assume they won't dodge until they demonstrate a capacity for doing it? You just described that the most likely place they are going to move is down and to the right, and therefore a high elo player would move up or left to dodge. But since this isn't a high elo player, they aren't going to be thinking of doing the opposite of "the most likely place they will move", so don't you then just throw your ability at "the most likely place they will move?"
      In this example, if he had just thrown the ability down and to the right what you described as the most likely place they will move, he would have landed the ability.

    • @elizabethelune773

      @@clovermite yes, but its a matter of what you are used to do, most of the time there are things you do automatically without thinking it much. So there are instances where you "Missplay" even if it would have been the correct thing to do. This is less about the logic but about how you play in different scenarios.
      Here since the commentary is after the game, he points it out but during the game he threw the charm to were a equal skilled played would most likely go, since he probably was thinking about the lane state instead of landing the charm(since he already assumed he would land it).
      It's a hard thing to understand, but it is how it is. Of course after a bit of adaptation you can land every skillshot you throw at them.

    • @clovermite
      @clovermite 2 роки тому

      @@elizabethelune773 Sure, I understand that, but then that's not a matter of skillshots being "harder to land in low elo", it's more a matter of him not having practiced enough to adapt between Elos.

    Warning: Having a minion advantage is only helpful if you need a fighting advantage.
    If you know you are weaker you should freeze in front of tower to not get engaged.
    If you know you are stronger you should also freeze in front of tower and punish him if he tries to last hit (like he did with zeri).
    Staying permanently at the enemy tower is risky because of the jungler. If you get caught by an Amumu q you can loose the lane very quickly.
    Edit: Against ranged top laners as meelee its also often good to freeze in front of your tower so you can engage your opponent and not just get poked down
    Edit2: Because normally in the first 2-3 levels you have equal strengh you start pushing to get the minion advantage. It will also help you reach level 2 + 3 earlier and there you can also try getting the early kill or good trade (especially in low elo).
    But it can change with poke, ganks, kills, jungler position, how much the enemy is pushing... pretty much everything that can give you an advantage or disatvantage

      Jungle tracking, if Yi started bot side (you can tell because thier bot lane will show up late to lane) then you know that around level 2 and 3 he will be at his top camps and trying to get scuttle then prob go for a gank on mid or top. If yi had started top side then you will know around level 2-3 he will be bot looking for mid or bot gank. you can use your own jungler to get an estimate on where the enemy jungler is as well

    Click bait title. Just trying to constantly push isn't going to give "insane winrates." Blindly pushing every time means you can miss backing times if you aren't able to get the kill, if the opponent is trying to push just as hard as you are, or if you're a melee vs ranged matchup.
    Skill capped talks all the time about the "cheater recall", so it's a bit mind boggling that the video doesn't address any of the nuances on when hared pushing might not be the optimal play. The video is less than ten minutes long, so it's not like you need to cut that content to prevent the video from going too long. You could add just a thirty second to a minute blurb mentioning those caveats and recommending the other videos for more details on them.

    Not gonna lie, as a top lane melee player a lot of these examples such as your ahri vs zeri are quite uninteresting. I don't see why even a silver player who knew their champ well wouldn't play the lane just as well as you. Ranged vs ranged matchups are riskless if you are smart from my perspective.
