Alex Smolyar who won the race is an SMP backed driver who's won races and many podiums in F3! Pretty impressive to be in the same race as him and not too far behind.
@@XBOW83 the level of the higher split on LFM sometime is insane, for an average “driver” like me it’s almost impossible to think at the victory or a podium.

Seems like you got the hang of it..watch out Dave, once ACC’s driving style start to click, it’s really difficult to come back to iRacing, at least in my experience.
Nice to see a calm, relaxed, chilled, Dave….let the battles commence 😃 Good run there, car seemed to rotate really nice so I’m surprised the guys in front were away. Wish I could do bias changes on the fly, need to try that out. 👍🏻
You were making me nervous cause on the last lap you were getting close to the track limits again and with 3 warnings, but somehow you did it. Well done. I don't think I could do that in my Porsche because the front would be too light with a nearly empty tank.
Nice race. Great entertainment. A few tips for the M4. Rev it way more in 5th. Up to about 270kmh is the sweet spot. You only really need 6th when getting a good slip stream or on mount panorama. :-) TC4 or TC8 seems to be the best for the BMW. Keeps the rears healthier and does not affect acceleration too much. Look forward to more LFM content. This is great.!
Great to see that you are slowly getting the bug for ACC like you my go to was iRacing but slowly being converted to ACC - fast drivers in LFM great for progression of your skills - have a great day off to IR for the 24 Spa.....
That's more like it Dave. Your usual chilled self, racing well and enjoying yourself. I think you were just having a bad day when you were Mr.Grumpy. Keep up the good work.
I qualified 1:42.6 in 3rd split out of 5 today, and was only 5th. The top 15 were within 1 second 1:42.2 to 1:43.2. It's pretty crazy how fast and close even the midpack is in LFM. Those kind of times would near the top with a massive drop off behind in most public lobbies most. Also makes the first few laps crazy, because even with everyone trying to be safe, we are all bunched up and its a recipe for accidents. The field takes forever to spread out.
I have been at it for nearly 3 years now and still 4 to 5 seconds off top drivers. I do see improvement every few months but going from Nascar for with controller for about 20 yrs to road racing GT cars with wheel and pedals is very different.
Keep grinding m8, I was faster with controller only now sort of approaching my controller times. My biggest gripe with the low budget G920 are the pedals holding me back, weakest item of the lot.

As much as I hate the BMW, the V6 is uninspiring how it sounds, it's really like the most balanced front engine car in the field. It feels like a mid engine car how well it handles. I want to hate on it, and I almost never use it, but damn do I have to respect it.
Lap record holder says he races with a setup close to default aggressive. But on default agg, b.balance is close to like %58. Yet you race with almost %50. This brake bal. let's you brake whole a lot later and gain time on straight line braking, but is a pain in the ass in the middle sector, where there is lots and lots of combined turning and braking. Any advice, Dave ?
Dave, you should keep accelerating and breaking at the same time during the warm-up lap in acc, it will warm your tires faster and you gonna have a way better start
God I hate the rear view mirror in ACC, it's so blurry and makes me nauseous. Not sure if it's an engine limitation or style choice, either way I wish they'd change it.
The game definitely looks better without DLSS, but the reason it is there is so people who still run 4k, 1440p, triples etc that can't quite get 80+fps, can. DLSS is essentially the equivalent of reducing your resolution in a way that looks better than if you had just lowered resolution in game. If your PC can handle the game at your settings without DLSS, there's really no reason to run it unless you really need to for different scenarios like weather (can cause drops of about 10fps in my experience)
HI @Dave Cam I noticed at the end of all races you go through the incidents so my question is how do you skip though the incidents so easy one by one? Or is it done in editing I mean is there a way to watch the race back and skip to the incidents?
Thanks Dave. I'm a Subscriber and been watching your videos for about a year and a half now. As I can afford, I have been building a Trac Racer rig with triple monitors, Fanatec DD and pedals. Good luck in you weekly series, Michael
Dave, sorry to go off topic, im currently smashing the bottom of raceroom, purely for the online ranked racing. iracing worth the investment? Is iracing ranked system that much better? Reasons why Im asking you mate is I think you give a unbiased opinion and working on the water board with a family of 6 is tight on the wallet for sim racing. Appreciate any replies bud 🥃
Well I’m not Dave but in my opinion Iracing is only worth it if you can justify the expense with time playing. I used to play but that feeling of paying for 3 things every week (to get the discount) and them usually all being 10-15 bucks each was not doing it for me because I didn’t have the time I wanted to justify the price, plus the sub. But racing wise I’ve never played a game that made me feel like I was on the track the way Iracing does. And the online is as good as it gets besides joining a league. Best bet is to buy a month which you can usually find a cheap deal for being your first time and trying out the free rookie series which are pretty fun for a little while.
Yes, that's also my criticism of raceroom, the public servers are rarely visited. Most probably drive the leagues, etc. that are offered in the forums. As far as servers go, iRacing is better, but I've never spent so much money on any game in my life. iRacing is super expensive, you have to think about it very carefully.
