Devin, you are a lifesaver. My wife has been having epic battles and fails trying to make roti over the past few months. I showed her your recipe and she finally made it today. She loved it! The rotis came out amazing, thanks to your crystal-clear instructions. We'll never be buying store-bought rotis ever again. She's already planning to make more tomorrow. Thanks again and keep up the amazing work!

Looking up this recipe as I live currently in a hot climate and refrigeration is also not totally reliable at the current moment. Thank you for this recipe, I will definitely try it! The reason why I mention the refrigeration thing, is because I’m looking for a quick and easy way to have a bread portion of the meal, And according to some scientific information I’ve gathered, one of the many benefits of the combined power of the various different spices used in Indian curries actually help to preserve them and make them more shelf stable, as a lot of spices have naturally occurring antimicrobial properties that when we work together, can actually help preserve a curry . Thank you so much for this recipe!
Hi Otaku, You're 100% right, its the reason why tumeric has been such a big hit in the health community over the last few years. Its been a massive part of indian cooking and its health properties are incredible. Best of luck with the recipe and thank you for checking it out 😊🙏

ROTI RECIPE 2 cups flour 20 grams butter 2 tablespoons canola oil 1 cup of very hot ( not boiling) water Mix then form into 6 to 8 balls Let sit for a while then flatten each ball with your palm then roll out thinly. Cook in hot fry pan then brush with melted butter before flipping it over in pan. Set each one aside on a paper towel

Ah thank you so much for the lovely comment liesllopes! I’m so stoked that folks like you still come back to use this recipe, it means a lot to me so thank you! Hope you’re having a great end of your week! 🙌
My rotis fluff up beautifully, I knead my flour in the similar method Instead of using butter in the flour to knead, I use oil and at the end when my atta (flour) is kneaded well, I apply little oil on my palms, apply on the final kneaded flour, roll well to smoothen it just as you showed, cover it for ten minutes before preparing the rotis When I turn my rotis, I use paper towel / cloth folded, gently and lightly press the rotis in the middle, they fluff up beautifully, Punjabis call them pulka as in fluff up Apply butter or ghee as per preference, serve hot with dhal and vegetables Dry rotis are more enjoyable with non vegetarian dishes, make sure they are served hot off the pan
So when the rotis get too cold it will become chewy and hard. I would suggest trying to eat them as soon as possible after making them. If you are saving them for little then even popping it into a microwave for a 5-10 seconds should being back the heat to the roti and make it soft and delicious again.
Thanh you so much kikim! Cooking should be relaxing and chill right! I ain’t got time for those 10 second cooking videos that you need to watch 15 times just to figure out how they made it 🤣

Hi. I tried this recipe with my 9 yr old son. Bought the wrong flour. Used self raising. We used 3 cups of flour instead of 2. It came out good. Taste and tenderness was there and lasted for a full 4 days. The first one we rolled was thick and looked like naan bread. The rest we ensured was a bit more thin. My son loved his gammon roast roti roll with lettuce and mayo and chillie sauce. Am going to make it again tomorrow but with the correct flour this time. Thank you so much for the step by step clear instructions and the your video presentation is bright and clear all the way to the end which was a a great pleasure watching. Please do a video for Roht without Ghee. 🌻
Hi. Tried your recipe again with the correct flour on New Years Eve. Needed to make a little extra so I adjusted the measurements for 3 cups flour. My son once again helped me. Your recipe was so quick and easy to follow. It came out divine and to think my mil said a week earlier that I can't do it. Lol. We enjoyed it buttered with a hot cup of tea and also with prawn curry. Now my son wants me to make it every week. I must add, it is such a great pleasure to be able to make something he loves. A million thanks to you... soo very happy!!!🙂👍🌻

They don't mean to be forceful. It is actually their primary language interfering with their English.

I always come back to this recipe, such an honest video, if you follow his instructions, you wont go wrong. Soft spoken guy with so much weight in his persona!!
Ah thank you so much for the lovely comment liesllopes! I’m so stoked that folks like you still come back to use this recipe, it means a lot to me so thank you! Hope you’re having a great end of your week! 🙌
My rotis fluff up beautifully, I knead my flour in the similar method
Instead of using butter in the flour to knead, I use oil and at the end when my atta (flour) is kneaded well, I apply little oil on my palms, apply on the final kneaded flour, roll well to smoothen it just as you showed, cover it for ten minutes before preparing the rotis
When I turn my rotis, I use paper towel / cloth folded, gently and lightly press the rotis in the middle, they fluff up beautifully, Punjabis call them pulka as in fluff up
Apply butter or ghee as per preference, serve hot with dhal and vegetables
Dry rotis are more enjoyable with non vegetarian dishes, make sure they are served hot off the pan
Mine are good but when served...but they become chewy by afternoon.
Any tips?
So when the rotis get too cold it will become chewy and hard. I would suggest trying to eat them as soon as possible after making them. If you are saving them for little then even popping it into a microwave for a 5-10 seconds should being back the heat to the roti and make it soft and delicious again.
So satisfying to watch plus the calm voice. Can’t wait to try this recipe 😍

My first time ever making roti. Thanks for the easy recipe and great visuals!
Thanks heaps Aunty Karin! hope it becomes a staple in the Daniel house :D

Just tried your recipe. Although I didn’t have canola oil so used sunflower oil instead.😋 thanks for sharing
does it work if I use olive oil instead? Thank you!
@@fuzzybunny4386 Exactly my question too....but what the heck it's only a few ingredients and I'm sure it will still be edible, so I'm going to try with olive oil.
Wow...I have always heard that Roti is hard to make & a long process...I had some curry chicken in my fridge & this complemented it so well....I saw your video & went home & tried it immediately - your recipe was to the point & wasn't drawn out...my first attempt came out good...tomorrow I will get a rolling pin from Walmart...Thanks again for your recipe 🇯🇲
