Newer to bowling here... about 2 months in but I'm a 2 hander throwing 14-17MPH with med/high rev rate. Looking to build a 3 ball arsenal. I was thinking about going strong asym(Reality, Gem, Super Nova), then into a slightly weaker ball (Phase 2, Fate, Zen), followed by a urethane option like a Pitch Black or possibly something like a Night Road. I already have a spare ball as well. Am I overlapping at all or does that arsenal make sense? Any recommendations for me if you had to build the ideal 3 ball arsenal? Thank you for the insight!
Do not start high end if you are new and a two hander (I have been a two hander since 1992). Start lower end/to mid performance and all symmetricals. Ball speed from 14-17 is pretty broad. I have a teammate with similar specs and the Messenger Solid is money for him. But it sounds like you really want to stay in the Storm family though. So I would go IQ Tour Solid as your benchmark, Revenant as your mid tier pearl, then Electrify as your step down with the lanes get drier. Get used to those three balls and then you can build from there.
Me myself being a left hander with more speed then revs and up the boards on old wood lanes with burned up oil I can throw reactive for my big hooking motion and then goto urethane balls my overseas magenta urethane hammer , my purple pearl hammer urethane made In 2022 and play a semi angle with some hook but I rather throw my faball blue hammer and my old goto urethane the faball blue pearl hammer urethane. But in my league I can hook a plastic ball and I love watching the faces of everyone when seeing my Geico plastic ball hook ( the same Geico plastic ball you would see the pros use on tv for a spare ball ) .I have more confidence in urethane balls like the faball blue pearl hammer urethane and faball blue hammer urethane (with the blue pin and white logo's) and the blue beast urethane from Columbia 300
My first 600 was with the Quantum Helix. Loved that ball as a high rev low ball speed youth bowler.
Do you you still have it
I still bowl with the Helix, love it. Also used to have the sumo purple never that black one.
Oh I want that sumo, had one and I loved it. Ball was so strong
Still have an Xcalibur in my garage in the box!
If 16lb , I want . Great consistency although almost a spare ball compares to the hook monsters produced today.
Is the plasticizer a resin?
