Absolutely one of the best underrated musicians. A baby doll and class act all the way She contributed to the music world in a big way! Always been a fan and always will be! 😎🕇💜✌🎹💣🎶🎸
Underrated? Let’s see-she was a child prodigy playing piano when she was three, performing classical recitals at age six. After recording three jazz albums while still in her teens, she recorded several hit pop/R&B albums, which produced the hit singles,“Haven’t You Heard” and “Forget Me Nots,” which was revived by Will Smith as the classic “The Men In Black” theme. She has worked with some of the world’s greatest musicians, who happen to be her peers. She was the first woman to serve as music director for the Grammys, which she did for three telecasts. As a musician, writer, arranger, performer, and bandleader she moves effortlessly between jazz, R&B, classical and pop genres. I could go on. At no time in her life or career has Patrice Rushen ever been underrated.
Absolutely lovely Bossa flavored rendition of "Lover Man". Love Patrice Rushen and have been listening to her music from her earliest days in the 70's.
I dont get a chance to see her often, grew up listening to her since I was a lil one, the record she made that sticks n my head since it came out was a B-side of a 45 I bought back then called the dream! Still one of my favorite songs of all times!! And I have to say she has a pair of the prettiest hand Iv'e seen! In love with her music, her face and hands! She is such a blessing to look at and to hear! Would love to meet her in person! She is just a dream

I first heard Patrice with Jean-Luc Ponty. When she did the piano solo on "Aurora"; I was blown away!!! I started following her as she later did her own albums. I don't care for the "Pop" music she does now, but musicians have to make money, too and I'm sure it pays well. She is so small that I often wonder what it was like the first time she went to a jam session when she was young. Nobody knew her and here walks in this BEAUTIFUL, tiny (4'11") child-like women carrying a stack of Real Books. All the musicians look at her like "What's this child doing here...this is for the hardcore cats." Then she sits down at the piano and BLOWS THEM AWAY!!!! In so far as I'm concerned, she rates in the top five pianists that I can name...no, top two.... I love her
I forgot to mention that the only pianist that I can think of that might have more degrees and musical education than Patrice is Andre Previn. She has a wonderful education and she applies it every time she sits down to the piano.

This is actually not a Bossa Nova song. It’s an American tune called, Lover Man. But she’s playing it in a Bossa Nova rhythm
Awesome. Baby fingers. Love it ❤️💕

And her "Pop" stuff was absolutely awesome too.
She's always been at the top. Inspirational lady from the get go. Some of her Rhodes solos are legendary. Love you Patrice, thank you so much.x
The Piano Maestra at work, People!! Will adore this woman all of my life!
Amazing work from Patrice and Stanley Clarke.
I hope you had a Happy Birthday yesterday and I have been a fan of your beautiful music since 1977.
Wonderful solos from piano and bass - superb.
Sophisticated music.
Classic boss nova
Met her at Pitt years ago and could NOT believe how tiny her hands were. She is one of a kind, also an excellent musical director.

Tell you something about the opportunity to interview Ephesians the other one
Forget the Forget Me Nots stuff. This is the Patrice Rushen I know and love.

Pure Talent
👍🏾👍🏾
AMAZING!
Alisha keys has nothing over patrice rushen.
I saw McCoy Tyner pay in 1970. Rushen is better. And much more pleasurable to listen to. Off the charts. The best jazz pianist ever. Any argument?
No argument. I love McCoy, but this is simply mind-blowing. I can't believe how amazing she is.
You’re getting a little carried away.
She needs to give her long lasting fans some new music back to her jazz roots.
I knew this lady sang but I didn't know she did jazz or played the piano
Genius
Rushen rules!
Stanley Clarke on bass. Who's on drums?
Leon Ndugu Chancler R.I.P.
Lover Man travels to Brazil…
I think God expresses himself through her mortal fingers.
Smooth like Kylie Jenners thighs
Jay Z on bass guitar
ahahaha
that's an upright bass. and that's stanley clarke, a legend who bears zero resemblance to jay-z. swing and a miss.
He will always love the way it would be best to spend wishing
