When I let myself eat, I get extreme hunger. I'm so worried about letting it happen though, and trusting it, as I used to be obese my whole life until I started fasting and restricting. I only stopped being obese due to not eating... I dont want to get obese again

I felt it too. And it's really suck right ? I try to let myself go with the flow, eat what I crave but usually I woruld end up eating a lot!

Right?? I had some fear foods today (@a buffet... wasn't even planned!) But yeah, after a breakfast of a cliff kid bar, cheese stick, and an orange, consuming my past daily calorie intake in one sitting from one slice of pizza, a bit of plain pasta and 3/4 a burger...I felt like literal crap. But my brain needed it. Unfortunately, my ED's winning a bit, as I'm just having a tin of sardines and some blueberries for dinner... I'm just so scared of gaining weight back...

@@elenav.5470 welp same here i went out with my mom and twin (both r aware with my ED now) 3 girls 7 dishes. i had 3 pasta 1 soup, we shared a pizza they had their own pasta dish. howd i feel after? full as f did i gain? f yes did i regret it no so much i try not to focus on it. (lowkey tho I'm like ah crap them carbs cheese fats r going to ruin me. but hey it helps me a lot.) doesn't mean ill keep indulging for a whole week. i mean i could like come back to that restaurant each week but I'm so impatient i really want to try out they dishes lmao. when those thoughts come just say f it at least u enjoy it. idk it comes n goes

I’m not sure how to articulate the difference between hunger and craving. I treat them as the same, and it worked for me. At least I did for a good while. Now that food is not at the fore front of my mind 24/7 the hunger/craving just comes naturally. I eat when I eat. I don’t eat when I don’t eat.
Although I still eat out of boredom sometimes. And I’m mostly okay with it.
Coool to see that others are also experiencing this.

I know what you're Both talking about.
I was at the same place abt a couple of months ago.
However, I found an amazing article on the Internet and it explained that the only posible way to full Recovery is "FULLY LETTING GO OF CONTROL. ANY KIND OF CONTROL".
It sounds unbelievable and un realistic, I know.
But once You start and You promise to yourself that You are fully letting go then everything becomes so so so much easer.
Believe me! It worth it! ❤️ xxxx

I'm just starting my recovery from anorexia and I have a meal plan and I'm never full after any meal and have relapsed and binged but every time I go on huge binges my mom yells at me and mocks me saying "you're binging" and makes me feel horrible about myself. She just doesn't understand I think and I don't know what to do, do I starve myself even though I'm eating a lot of food on my meal plan already and not give into extreme hunger. Am I supposed to go on binges and give in? I'm so confused

I wish I had seen this earlier. I've been in recovery since December 2018 and learned so so much from this. I'm experiencing this now and I think it's because of quarantine my body is taking that opportunity to really get to the end of recover. Quarantine has done me wonders for recovery. I've gained fat but also muscle. It's scary but I'm so much more healthy. It's weird though because I still restrict treats like cookies but I'm eating more and I'm especially eating cheese and other fear foods I had.

My extreme mood swings are gone and i have noticed that my skin is better now and my headache is gone. I think that my body is healing and i’m so happy about it❤️but i haven’t gained any fat tho.

The Blyss Catalyst so what i did was that i slept much and went to bed earley. I tried out meditation and yoga and did things that got me less stressed. But i also ate all kinds of foods like veggies, fruits, meats, pasta, rice, chicken and so on❤️I think it depends on for how long your body have been in a calorie deficit but continue to eat much and sleep and rest much and your body will do the healing itself❤️you just have do trust in yourself and keep going❤️good luck!❤️

The Blyss Catalyst and if your exercise you can cut down on it. Because exercising is stress for your body and if your body is stressed, the healing process might tanke longer❤️bur i recommend doing yoga and meditation❤️

Graciella Harén thank you so very much! Yes I do love yoga 2-3 times a week, but it’s a very tough kind of yoga called Baptiste in a very hot room for an hour and a half. I think I’ll start trying something like yin yoga or restorative. I also love long walks.

@sarahbeautyfit Saraketo you are so sweet for checking in! Thank you! I don’t anymore. Intermittent fasting and going to a more keto lifestyle (heavy on the organic carnivore & upping good fats) took care of it! I feel very free around food. Every now and again I go overboard on snacking when stressed but I can distinguish this from real hunger. That’s a different issue to sort out and it doesn’t happen that much anymore. But overall, my extreme hunger went away.

Most of the symptoms of extreme hunger I have found ways to work through them not to say i don’t still struggle some days but the one thing that really bothers me the most is the water retention it literally makes me not want to eat my legs practically double in dice and get so heavy and I was told that it could turn into something serious by my doctor and pharmacist I want to believe it will level out but most of the time I feel like it will never go away are there ways to help it go down without pharmaceutical’s or is it something you just have to ride out

in my recovery i relapsed quite a few times so that is why i only prolonged this extreme hunger period until like 6-8 months. the quicker you can stop all restriction and calorie compensation the faster extreme hunger will pass, that is why its crucial to not relapse...for everybody its different, for some it may take few weeks before it calms down, for some half a year its really very individual. and for me it wasnt present every day, it was there for some days, then it went away again, coming and going...but for some it can be present every day.

I know this video is old, but I want to comment. I am recovering from atypical anorexia, and now I am again restricting. Thats all because I am close to that point where I am overweight, but still all my ed thoughts are there and extreme hunger also. I just dont know what to do, beacuse even if I'm craving foods and being so hungry, I just dont let myself eat anymore what I want. I feel like if I drop now some weight I can then come back to recovery and allow myself to eat what I want and how much I want. Even if I try to eat about five to six meal/Day, I eat my low calorie safe foods. I feel like trapped, what I should do? I see a dietisian once in a month, but they just say that follow your meal plan and eat. I've tried, but I can't. I can't, because by following it I will gain more weight. Thank you for these videos, you are a star ❤️

Heya, I hope that you're in a better place now. I'd suggest reaching out to friends and family, or even professional help/team to see if those around you could provide comfort and guidance on what is right for your body. Remember, your dietitian isn't trying to make you overweight, they know what they're doing, and they're here to help you. You are not alone.

    • @FollowTheIntuition
      @FollowTheIntuition  8 років тому +4

+Zuza Stella First we have to deal with the eating disorder, to fix normal hunger cues. Then the eating will balance out and they might lose the weight naturally. But if we tell overweight people who were dieting and starving before, to just continue dieting and starving, it will only escalate the problem. Many people have actually become overweight by dieting that makes them binge-prone, magnifies cravings, and suppresses their metabolism.
