I'm pleased to see this review of Scriveiner pens . I bought one on Amazon back in December as birthday gift for myself. It is a wonderful fountain pen and a great, dependable writer with a smooth, gliding feel--no skips, no hard starts. It is an absolute pleasure to write with. It performs better than some of my pens that cost 4 to 5 times as much. It is the standard I measure all my pens against. None have beaten my Scriveiner.
Sciveiner was actually my first fountain pen. My friend gave me one last year for my birthday- their original in chrome with gold accents, and it sent me down this crazy rabbit hole of a hobby and drives my wife crazy. That medium Schmidt nib is amazing and smooth, with no hard starts like you said. Didn’t even know they came out with a new model until I saw your video, so thanks, I have another to add to the wish list! Thank you for the review.

My current EDC pens are an Ensso Piuma Pocket in titanium and a Gravitas pocket in stainless steel... I'm a sucker for metal EDC pocket pens (which is why I should get this Scriveiner).

I believe that adding this fountain pen to my collection would be a great choice. The fact that it features a Schmidt nib, which I don't currently have, makes it all the more enticing. I am particularly drawn to its smooth and enjoyable writing experience. Thank you for considering my request.

My reason - I also like shiny things and these are shinier than anything I have already. My collection also does not yet include something made in UK. And I particularly appreciate things that simply work, anytime and every time.
Thank You! I actually really liked the brass version and my hands are pretty small and feel perfectly fine with such small pens without posting them...I guess that is very simple and honest explanation why I'd love to have it.

There are probably many folk who need this pen more than me, but, as a pocket pen collector, I would very much like to own this handsome and uncommon pen.
I do like the three finishes shown, and am very grateful you are doing a generous give away.
As for the design, i loke that the posting threads are part way down the barrel, leaving them less exposed than on many other models, and the posting more secure.
I would love this pen because I work in a hospital and good, reliable writers are always needed. The compact size would help it stay secure in my scrubs and the threaded posting would be essential for me to not lose the cap. Love the video and keep it up!

Hey Stephen! Another great video! I need that pen to save the world. I have uncovered a plot of Professor Tarquin Danglebury to flood the oceans with fountain pen ink (he allegedly believes it will be beautiful and that the fishes will be fine) unless this particular Scriveiner fountain pen is used to ruin his dastardly plan.
An EDC fountain pen is quite practical. Fits in every pocket, is easy to handle and fits in any suitcase. I have been watching your videos on my SMARTV for a long time and I really like all your reviews. Take care. Thanks.
I require this pen like I require another hole in my head. I am glad you are giving away the brass or bronze one. One of my EDC’s is the Kaweco brass sport and it will be interesting to see how they compare.

I was sent a chrome and gold Scriveiner (slightly different model) for a birthday from a family member that didn't ever use a fountain pen. I have it in regular rotation for use.
Because I've never used a Benu, curious to see if they write similar, because of the Schmidt nibs in both.
Exactly not cheap, but well within the range of affordable. Might be "designed in London," but they are, like many things today, made in China for everything but the nib unit and converter. Very nicely put together, and I'd expect decades of good use from one. (Unlike some, they don't hide the country of manufacture. A plus, IMO.😉)
Hey. I believe I need an EDC fountain pen because I'm pretty sure it fits in all my small bags and it's really easy to carry around town, school, bank, mall... This particular EDC Scriveiner looks like a really good pen with the Schmidt nib, one of the best nibs in the world as well as yowo and bock. Thank you for this giveaway. i do really enjoy your videos and your sense of humour. especially the very consistent writing samples. i would love to touch and feel this pen given the shorter length and how smooth that nib actually is.
I require that pen not only because it looks amazing, but also because of a compulsive drive to own everything related to things I like.
I like hearing your opinions on different european fountain pens brands. I'm australian and at the very begining of my fountain pen journey, there are not as many in person resources available to me and your reviews have given me a lot of valuable information. And about the Scriveiner specifically, I quite like the small size and the shiny chrome! I've not got a pen like it (so far)!

Very informative review, as always. It so happens that I do not own an EDC type pen. I tend to keep my pens at home usually, for fear of losing them. A small pen like this would be ideal for working in the library.

Absolutely stunning pens! I unfortunately live in South Africa so I imagine shipping will be exorbitant but I'm throwing my hat in the ring nonetheless! Would compliment my kaweco brass well I think
I don’t need the pen but I would give it to a friend who carries a pen in their pocket most days and a rugged pen is something they really like and enjoy.

I do not own any pocket / edc pens. I don't know why. Perhaps none of them intrigued me. This one does.

I currently carry a Kaweco Sport with their classic clip attachment. It has replaced the pocket knife that I used to carry clipped to my right pants pocket because I already keep a multitool on me anyway, and frankly I like what carrying the fountain pen says about me more than the knife (both to myself and to the rare other who does notice it). I do feel I have to be mindful of the plastic of the Kaweco and not to accidentally lay down on my right side while it's still in my pocket. So I'd love to give the (presumably more durable) Scrivener EDC a shot as an occasional stand in for my Sport!
Thanks for showing off a brand that’s new to me (and more of us I see). I don’t know if this counts as needing the pen, but I will say it will probably look normal sized in my small hands since I can perfectly comfortably use Kaweco Sports unposted.
I like writing, kind of journaling when I go hiking. So I need a pen that can withstand some abuse and these pen certainly fits the bill.
I need this pen because as of now, I have no metal pens in my collection, save the Metropolitan, which is very light. I’m keen to know what that feels like in the hand. And it would be fun to win something from you. 😊
thank you for the review! This pen would be a great thing to have because I am in need of a reliably starting fountain pen that is easy to, um, carry. I am not a fan of carrying backup ballpoints etc. and something reliable would be great.

I use an EDC pen with a Traveler's Notebook. Currently a Kaweco Liliput.
I trust your honest review of the nice nib and the weight seems nice. I don't have a pen I carry around yet, and this seems like a great option.
This brand is new to me. Why I require it? Because I don't have any real British pens (Parkers made in France don't count) and I do carry my pen in my purse. A sturdier pen that won't break would be fantastic.

Always love your reviews - nothing but the truth, which is refreshing. Why do I want one of these pens? Well, they’re made in the UK, and so was I. And also I’m a little old girl with little hands and I think this would be perfect for me. And, of course, I love a worthwhile freebie! xx

Very many thanks for reviewing these pens. Being an EDC, and shorter than most when capped, this would be a useful addition to keep in my jacket! Great also to hear that the nib is so smooth! Also, with my sausage fingers, the larger posted size makes it sound perfect! Presumably the tendency to uncap is lowered by the fact that the clip is on the big part?
Thank you Dr. Brown for another informative and entertaining review. I require this pen because i have a Scriveiner pen which I love but it is not the EDC and obviously that will not do. It will not do at all. Totally unacceptable. So you must of necessity choose me.
I wonder precisely how heavy and back heavy respectively they are. Thirty-three grams for the ”stainless steel” version is a figure I managed to figure out on their home page. How many grams thereof is from the cap, it doesn’t say. I couldn’t find the aluminium pen on their site so the weight of the aluminium pen remains unknown to me.

Actually I cannot in good faith say I require a fountain pen. Diogenes etc. etc. But it would be nice have a a chromey shiny 2 toned pen that writes.

I love fountain pens but I doubt anyone needs them. And that's taking into account all the benefits of handwriting from organizing your thoughts to remembering whatever you have to. (Chelov always had his actors start by writing out their lines to get them to sink in.)
Since I was about 14 and Schafer put out an affordable, damn near indestructible fountain pen (or I discovered it in 1965) I have loved that alternative to ballpoint pen which I hated. Ballpoints would always have this ugly blob of ink on them; not to mention the need to press down, which I simply didn't feel at 14. Now at 72 I might appreciate that difference more. But in terms of ease of simply writing down word, roller balls and gel pens work just fine.
That leaves fancy writing and just enjoying various inks, which I love beyond words. Well, trying to write with more flourishes at least.
I love the elegance of some pens, the look and feel of Urushi fills me with boundless joy.
But, no, I can't pretend I need them. I simply want them and at my age I can afford to get grubby somtimes.
All in all, the freebie should go to someone else. I just couldn't resist burbling for a bit.

To be honest, I don't need this pen, and it does not excite me. But I've often come to love pens that didn't initially appeal to me (Pilot VP), and at times avoiding using pens that I thought I MUST have (L2K). I also promise to pass it on to a potential FP convert if I merit winning your contest and I find that I'm not using it. Cheers from Nova Scotia.

How are you doing? I am a lawyer and I go to many courts. An EDC fountain pen will fit nicely in my formal suit and be easy to carry with me every day. This Scriveiner is an excellent pen and the Schmidt nib is soft and comfortable to use. A great fountain pen. I really like your reviews. Nice review, as always. I believe I require this pen because having a smaller one that can fit anywhere is better than having an oversized one that can barely fit in your pants (if you know what I mean).
