I know many don't like the idea, but being able to choose between a V8, flat 6 and so on sounding e-car is, for me, the future and a great way to make the transition less painful. Why not allowing the user to set the available HP too? On motorbikes, depending on riding modes you can have 60% HP at your disposal, or 100% and so on. I don't know if it would increase the autonomy, but on ICE bikes it does help with mileage.
I’m sure that more sounds are an option down the road. As for selecting HP, you kind of have a little bit of that option with drive modes and keeping your fingers off the boost button 😂
@@EverydayReviews2022 Sure but the base is still over 600HP, which in normal driving is way overkill imo. It would be nice to keep it at 300 or so at the touch of a button. Probably a good thing it happened because things have been put in place now so pretty sure you won’t be seeing this happen again. Not to rain on the parade but if one plans to use the Ionic N as a daily ride, just be ABSOLUTELY sure that huge battery on the floor ( which most probably is where the lowest point of the ground clearance starts to meet any obstacles on the road) does not get physically damaged. @@EverydayReviews2022 I know but I have extreme range anxiety. Not saying the vehicle is bad just I would get the regular Ioniq 5 over this. But that's just me.
Looks like same range as AWD ioniq 5 model because of bigger battery. On day to day drive that is. On Nurburgring track the battery will last you 2 laps or so
I think 20 will fit, maybe 19 but I wouldnt count on the 18. On the I30n which is equipped with 19', you can't use 17' because the brakes are too big, and it's 345mm discs. Here you have 420mm in the front and bigger calipers.
With all the new attractive features it is appealing to many. However, there are already 2 known unscrupulous issues regarding ionic 5 battery flaw design that Hyundai yet to address. Already there are well documented videos on youtube exposing design flaws by Hyundai but problems passed down to customers when agent / insurance write off the whole car after cover for battery damaged and not the battery, there are no alarms on the dashboard, car was able run, charged for days. Yet Hyundai want battery for Ionic 5 to be replaced for “Safety Reasons” but they cannot prove that there are hazards after battery cover damaged in car undercarriage. To replace Ionic 5 battery it cost well over $60K plus workmanship, more than buying a new Ionic 5, it is ridiculous to own such car.
Well aware of the videos. Batteries as a whole can be unstable due to any type of impact. I’ve replaced numerous batteries for GoPros, RC cars, laptops all as precautions due to impact, overcharging, overheating etc. no one wants to be liable for the potential of a battery becoming faulty. The write off is unfortunate but once again, due to no one wanting to be liable, this type of write off will happen regardless if it’s 60K or even 20k depending on the age of the car. What people have to realize is that no one has ever paid 60k for a battery, Hyundai has changed their policy now after a couple of cases and if a customer has to replace a battery after warranty , my guess is that in 8 years, battery tech will have advanced to the point that the battery will be cheaper, lighter , have greater power density and have more range for the same size.
@@EverydayReviews2022 Bottom line this car design is flawed, especially the battery casing protecting the batteries. A more robust casing should install or battery flexibility that can take some impact should be able to correct this particular issue. Not enough is being done in this car or all EVs and consumers should be protected against this kind of design flaw.
Don’t knock it til you try it is all I can honestly say. As mentioned in the review, I can’t stand pumped in sounds and it’s the first thing I look for to turn off. This is different.
Haha, it makes a fake noise. Interesting. The only thing is if the cover plate of the battery or battery itself gets damaged, it's $56,000. That's about the same as the car... LOL There's a scandal happening right now because of it and Kia EV6, etc use the same batteries since it's owned by the same company. I went to see an EV6 GT (whatever the fast one is) and it was pretty nice, looked great but felt a bit cheap (still acceptable) in the same way the Genesis G70 does. Where it looks like metal, it feels like plastic and things are just not as sturdy feeling as an Audi for example. The price is also lower though. Evens out. No way in hell I'm buying on of these from Hiunday, Kia, Genesis if their batteries are 2-3 times the price of anyone else. Deal breaker. I'm just ignoring them as options now.
The price point of all good evs is ultimately the downfall as of current technological capabilities…..maybe in about 10 years an average Joe will consider them.
It’s a $70k+ vehicle that will only net you 120 miles of range people! Throw all the good performance things about this vehicle away! That range-per-price stat is HORRIFIC!!!!!!
so its a road car set up for the nurburgring. so it will be rubbish on the road. the battery for the ioniq 5 is 10 grand MORE than the car ( a canadian video on it available) so its a very expensive (fast) worthless secondhand door stop.
Full battery, track it, 80 miles later ... battery low. Racing an EV is IMO stupid. I would stick to the normal Ioniq 5, save money and just drive my car from A to B. Everyone who buys such car will race it most of the time (if you pay double what the regular car cost). I rather stick to an ICE racer, drive it for 80 miles and "charge" it aka put fuel in the tank ... in 5m and have fun again.

@@euphegeniadoubtfire1364 I never heard of this, why do they keep going after Tesla for charging 20K for a battery pack and I'm not reading in the news how Hyndai is charging 50K?
Get real, my dealer said he is estimating $110k with mkt adjustment and likely no availability, no thanks.
That’s crazy! Knock on wood but we don’t have “dealer adjustments” here in Canada. My guesstimate would be 85K CDN so under 80KUSD. Price should be out soon. I don’t think they’ll many for the inflated price
No one is paying $110k for a Hyundai. The Ev6GT leases for $500. This is extremely similar I guarantee pricing will be in the same range. $70k
Am I the only one that sees that big crack in the rear brake rotor at 4:23 😮😮
Imagine if that rotor failed during testing 😢
Brake dust build-up from brake pad I believe (fingers crossed).
Tesla needs a Plaid hot hatch to compete with this.
Pricing in Canada?
After tax? Close to 100k, probably 95k. It should be slightly more expensive than the EV6 GT if you look at that pricing.
this N is like a Golf R 400 on steroids……
So when is the last time anyone has paid even 10k for a hyundai hatchback im waiting
They put 750hp top SPEED 180
Give me a used Porsche any day of the week
How used though? maintaining a used Porsche can cost you half the cost of this car depending on the age and model.
This car Humiliated, petrol Type R which is almost the same price lol.. Will consider as my next car lol.
Did they race on a track? Send links doe times please?
Wow what happened to Hyundai
You sacrifice range for speed on this thing.
It's actually got a bigger battery than the standard Ionic 5 so if you drive it slow it might not be too bad.
You sacrifice efficiency on all performance vehicles regardless if they're ev or not. Its not really that bad considering it has 641 hp
@@EverydayReviews2022 I know but I have extreme range anxiety. Not saying the vehicle is bad just I would get the regular Ioniq 5 over this. But that's just me.
Looks like same range as AWD ioniq 5 model because of bigger battery. On day to day drive that is. On Nurburgring track the battery will last you 2 laps or so
@@xiondFirst Absolutely understand. As I mentioned, the 5N isn't for everyone but it's such a cool car. There's really nothing like it
Looks like 18' might fit, which is huge for our Canadian winters.
I think 20 will fit, maybe 19 but I wouldnt count on the 18. On the I30n which is equipped with 19', you can't use 17' because the brakes are too big, and it's 345mm discs. Here you have 420mm in the front and bigger calipers.
Yeah HUGE rotors
Is the battery still 32K USD?
It’s a great shame To replace the battery will cost more than the car 🥵
By the time you would need a battery replacement you wouldn’t be buying a brand new battery anyways. There’s so much more to explain.
Manual seats >>>> power sears
Love the car, not a fan of fake engine sounds.
You can turn them off.
Like seat look audi rs range
I'd like it better if it had some bush bars to bash the F150s out of my way during street driving in Toronto.
Battery replacement is more expensive than the car.
Atleast race track
Make sound turbo rally car
@@EverydayReviews2022
Bottom line this car design is flawed, especially the battery casing protecting the batteries. A more robust casing should install or battery flexibility that can take some impact should be able to correct this particular issue. Not enough is being done in this car or all EVs and consumers should be protected against this kind of design flaw.
@@tayhb8961 the 5N actually uses a different battery so maybe it might be different. Not sure but may be possible.
Pumping in and out sounds is very silly. Emulating gear changes is even sillier 🙈
LOL
There's a scandal happening right now because of it and Kia EV6, etc use the same batteries since it's owned by the same company.
So if its the hottest hatch it must then do better lap times than the civic type R....
the battery cost more then the car to replace, no thanks.
It’s a $70k+ vehicle that will only net you 120 miles of range people! Throw all the good performance things about this vehicle away! That range-per-price stat is HORRIFIC!!!!!!
120miles? 5N does >250miles. And recharge 10-80% in 18min. Where is the problem?
The best part about my ev is that it's silent. Hearing that fake engine is so stupid.
Orc160 mph
Love Party trick enginenoise turbo
so its a road car set up for the nurburgring. so it will be rubbish on the road. the battery for the ioniq 5 is 10 grand MORE than the car ( a canadian video on it available) so its a very expensive (fast) worthless secondhand door stop.
battery replacement cost 60k lol
Emulate an ICE with a BEV? What a waste of time and money
I hope ford can make better cars
Full battery, track it, 80 miles later ... battery low.
Racing an EV is IMO stupid.
I would stick to the normal Ioniq 5, save money and just drive my car from A to B.
Everyone who buys such car will race it most of the time (if you pay double what the regular car cost).
I rather stick to an ICE racer, drive it for 80 miles and "charge" it aka put fuel in the tank ... in 5m and have fun again.
I5N takes 18min to recharge, so there is no problem
