    There is no other sports car that is bigger, faster, and CHEAPER than this car. 5N is first electric sports car ever made in human history.

    • @yoosteve1885
      @yoosteve1885 Рік тому +37

      @billyjean2905 Nope... Those high-powered and sporty EVs are not sports car. In automobiles, terms "sports car" is not only just fast, but also 'agile' and 'unwearing performance' regardless of how often you push it to the track. 5N can take 2 entire Nurburgring lap in full-pace; this thing is serious.
      Are you talking about Taycan turbo s that weighs over 2.3 tonnes and gets power cut after pushing few minutes in tracks? Or Tesla series that have inferior cylinder-batteries so get their battery heated up after doing several launches off the line? You should know what meaning of 'sports car' before commenting.
      Don't like this comment? Then go ahead and make such electric sports car that is faster, bigger, cheaper and can run more than 2 nurburgring laps. I'm sure you guys can't. Just sit tight and watch how it writes history.

    Thanks for this in-depth review. For me, the two main drawbacks of e-cars are addressed here: sound and gearbox, which means the 5N is the first I could consider buying. But I would say there's an easy refinement still to add, and that is giving the choice of ICE engine sound, not just the one. I guess it should be a doddle. I know many don't like the idea, but being able to choose between a V8, flat 6 and so on sounding e-car is, for me, the future and a great way to make the transition less painful.
    Why not allowing the user to set the available HP too? On motorbikes, depending on riding modes you can have 60% HP at your disposal, or 100% and so on. I don't know if it would increase the autonomy, but on ICE bikes it does help with mileage.

    • @EverydayReviews2022
      @EverydayReviews2022  11 місяців тому

      I’m sure that more sounds are an option down the road. As for selecting HP, you kind of have a little bit of that option with drive modes and keeping your fingers off the boost button 😂

    • @denislejeune9218
      @denislejeune9218 11 місяців тому

      @@EverydayReviews2022 Sure but the base is still over 600HP, which in normal driving is way overkill imo. It would be nice to keep it at 300 or so at the touch of a button.
      Being able to push an engine (even a fake one) is nice, but pushing with 600hp on the public road is highway central to prison. Pushing a 300hp one, on the other hand, is doable.

      I can't speak for other vehicle manufacturers, but if you've ever driven in eco mode in Hyundai or Genesis vehicles, it's very easy to drive slow. Eco mode cuts down on the gas pedal throttle response. Another thing to consider, is this particular vehicle has a fake manual that acts like a real manual, meaning you can leave it at the highest gear and go sluggishly slow off the line.

    Great review, would have been nice to have been able to keep my 2023 Ioniq 5 top trim had it not been for my poor delivery and service experience with the no DC fast charging for 7 months and 5 service trips to the dealer in North Vancouver, finally getting it fixed at Open Road Hyundai in Richmond, BC on our 6th service visit (great service department wish I would have taken it there first off), but we are happy with our 2023 Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD and so far all the long distance road trips no fast DC charging issues.

      @EverydayReviews2022  Рік тому +2

      That’s too bad. Both good cars. I’ve only plugged my car into DC once in 27k just for fun. We rarely take road trips long enough that require charging. Any longer trips and we normally take a lot larger SUV because we pack so much gear plus I can’t be bothered charging on a road trip. We rarely have much of plan on trips so planning charging wouldn’t realty fit our lifestyle. The 5N would be fine for us with the range and all the N goodies just make it so much more fun 🤩

      @@EverydayReviews2022 It was of all things, a simple manufacturing assembly error that one of the High voltage temperature sensor pins on a connector was bent, causing it to short out that module. The North Shore Hyundai, just kept on replacing the module without checking for the reason of the module failure, which is what a good technician would have done int the first place like my last service visit to Open Road Hyundai. My problem is why Hyundai does not do a complete Q/A check on the car on all systems before releasing the product for sales.

    Imagine if and or when batteries are not so heavy , GOOD GOD , take 500 or more pounds off something like this , holy hell . Looks KILLER in white , in fact to my eyes significantly better in white . All the " weird " stuff like pixels and door crease look best in white and lokk GREAT in fact . If i had money and wanted / needed an EV this looks like what I would get if i werent completely loaded . I like no power seats and stuff they did to keep it closer to hot hatch ( somewhat affordable to regular person who needs some seating and room in a smaller package and wants mix of everyday + sport instead of having a big mercedes and ferrari , you have one car that works as a car and has more performance then you can actually use on the street for hoon fun " . Its an AWESOME Niche product as the EV equivalent of a hot hatch , considering how expensivce something like a Golf R is its somewhat equivalent ( Golf R is kinda not the original idea of hot hatch (GTi) which were targetted more at people with less $ to throw around . Ford had the RS as well which was not " cheap " so this makes sense and a very hot hatch and certainly scalding in a straightline like EVs tend to be .

      You can't really touch electric when it comes to power. I realized that years ago on my ebike dirt bikes. They just had what I call unlimited power compared to gas and gas could never do what electric does. This is because you can get like unlimited power from electric and its instant torque. Gas is just obsolete to be quite honest and inferior.

    With all the new attractive features it is appealing to many.
    However, there are already 2 known unscrupulous issues regarding ionic 5 battery flaw design that Hyundai yet to address. Already there are well documented videos on youtube exposing design flaws by Hyundai but problems passed down to customers when agent / insurance write off the whole car after cover for battery damaged and not the battery, there are no alarms on the dashboard, car was able run, charged for days. Yet Hyundai want battery for Ionic 5 to be replaced for “Safety Reasons” but they cannot prove that there are hazards after battery cover damaged in car undercarriage. To replace Ionic 5 battery it cost well over $60K plus workmanship, more than buying a new Ionic 5, it is ridiculous to own such car.

    • @EverydayReviews2022
      @EverydayReviews2022  11 місяців тому

      Well aware of the videos. Batteries as a whole can be unstable due to any type of impact. I’ve replaced numerous batteries for GoPros, RC cars, laptops all as precautions due to impact, overcharging, overheating etc. no one wants to be liable for the potential of a battery becoming faulty. The write off is unfortunate but once again, due to no one wanting to be liable, this type of write off will happen regardless if it’s 60K or even 20k depending on the age of the car. What people have to realize is that no one has ever paid 60k for a battery, Hyundai has changed their policy now after a couple of cases and if a customer has to replace a battery after warranty , my guess is that in 8 years, battery tech will have advanced to the point that the battery will be cheaper, lighter , have greater power density and have more range for the same size.

      Bottom line this car design is flawed, especially the battery casing protecting the batteries. A more robust casing should install or battery flexibility that can take some impact should be able to correct this particular issue. Not enough is being done in this car or all EVs and consumers should be protected against this kind of design flaw.

    Haha, it makes a fake noise. Interesting. The only thing is if the cover plate of the battery or battery itself gets damaged, it's $56,000. That's about the same as the car... LOL
    There's a scandal happening right now because of it and Kia EV6, etc use the same batteries since it's owned by the same company.
    I went to see an EV6 GT (whatever the fast one is) and it was pretty nice, looked great but felt a bit cheap (still acceptable) in the same way the Genesis G70 does. Where it looks like metal, it feels like plastic and things are just not as sturdy feeling as an Audi for example. The price is also lower though. Evens out.
    No way in hell I'm buying on of these from Hiunday, Kia, Genesis if their batteries are 2-3 times the price of anyone else. Deal breaker. I'm just ignoring them as options now.
