If you boil the water with the lid, it’ll help get your water boiling faster and waste less fuel. I have some budget gear and use my lid and usually have a boil rolling in about 3 mins.
I have a very similar set up put together with the same pots, which I've had for years. The stove itself is under a tenner and I added an Optimus windshield which fits perfectly on the canister and pots, however it would be your most expensive addon but it does upgrade it to the next level.
I enjoyed you explanation of all of the features and benefits of the equipment as well as your demonstration. Thank you.
Ah brilliant that's great to hear and I hope this has helped you! Thank you for watching
I'd have done it with the lid on though, probably would cut half a minute or so off the boil time. Good little kit for the price.
Yeah if I'm not using the little pot I'll rest that on top and it definitely speeds up the boiling time.

Yeah I tend to do this if I'm not using the other pan for anything. Just wanted to show an honest test.
Which budget gear do you have?

Thanks I appreciate the advice, where did you purchase it?
@@thedoitalldad Th windshield came from online. Just look about for the best deal. Usually from UK supplier
Check the pot diameter compared to the windshield in case the video gives the wrong size impression.
@@scottmasson3336 Brilliant thank you
How do they hold up on hot coals or open fire ?
I've not tested that unfortunately, I don't see it being an issue just be careful not to have the silicone handles over the flame
