Nice tour of the Hobby Centre store, Harrison! They sure have quite a bit of used items for sale which is great for beginners in model railroading. Show them everything, but leave them wanting more... they'll just have to wait to see what you added to the collection! 😁 Thanks for sharing! 👍 👍 👍
3:26 $7.00 for that European container car is quite a good deal. The model train store I was in about a week ago would've sold that for $15. The same shop is a bit overpriced when it comes to used models other than simple freight cars, and doesn't offer much of a discount on the newer products. But that same store sells new items from Hornby, Piko, and Marklin.
SMT, What “Mantua (being TYCO’s top-quality manufacture) is to Tyco being, the inexpensive cheap line but still with some quality ! Proto 2000 is to lifelike ! So far from what I’ve seen, all I saw wasn’t even slightly related to the region I cover ! But that southern Pacific passenger set that you photographed was nice ! And even some of the cellophane sealed passenger cars you were looking at I could really use for engine 153 which I already have for the Key West extension and as a a kit-basher, I’d be able to use some of the passenger cars for the”Florida East Coast” Railway cars that went to the Key West extension ! Again having to do it kit-bashing style ! But that’s OK because I like doing it in the style so I can get it historically correct or as close to as I can get ! 🌊🐺
OK, so now I know you live in Canada ! Now what I want to know is do you run “American style/Canadian style” trains or do you run (“Straight American”), or European trains ??? 🌊🐺
Nice video SMT! It’s probably unlikely, but if you are ever in the Southwest Missouri USA area you should check out Trainland Hobbies. They have a lot of Ho and N you would probably like.
6:10 I'm very intrigued to that 0-4-0 tucked between the mehanos. I believe it is an AHM B&O style 0-4-0, but it looks to be customized, most notably with the wood bunker.
@@electronicsworkshop5580 Hobby house is much better for newer stuff but for used locomotives, this place has a wider selection. If you visit, I would just go to both.
The "all black" locos and cars are that way usually because they are undecorated. Perfect for train nuts like myself, as I have my own railroads (Quail Valley and Senova Beach and Inland), for which I have my own paint scheme and my own custom decals...which isn't that difficult with the right decal stock and a color laser printer.
Very nice hobby store with a nice selection of ho scale locomotives! I know the Santa Fe warbonnet alco fa-1 is an walthers trainline loco. I also saw a southern Pacific black willow emd gp20 I don’t know who made it mantua or tyco?
This hobby store is a 25 minute walk from my house. When I was active in model railroading, this was my go to place. I don't really do model railroading anymore as I'm taking a hiatus to focus on other life choices.
Hey nice tour! I frequent that hobby shop. I’m almost surprised it didn’t bump into you. I’m thinking of buying the weathered SOO GP38 at 5:15 for $55. Is that a good deal?
Thanks. $55 might be a good deal depending on who made it, I couldn't tell to be honest. There are many locomotives I'm interested in but only got a few cheap ones for now.
you should do a vid on used engine prices, what i see on ebay and in peddles mall are very expensive compared to that store.i dont know if it just the difference between the U.S. and Canada or just some folks want 200.00 for a 30.00 dollar engine
Yeah, there are rough price ranges to expect for used locomotives that I should point out. Canadian prices should appear high to you since our dollar is worth less.
Smt 2 things 1 your content is perfect I enjoy every second of it 2ed you should get into post war American flyer trains there very neat and a standout to the crowd
Yup, looks like what you see at a train show. Old Tyco and Bachmann garbage. Question, did their RC and Airplane sections have a lot of used old "vintage" junk too, or did he take more pride in that part of his store. Thats the issue with these types of "Multi-Hobby" shops. Their focus is on one main thing they stock well, and then other bits and bobs that really should of ended up as landfill in other hobby areas. I'm guilty, I go to Pinnacle and hunt their junk bin too. But I honestly just use them for glue and paints. A real train store looks like Credit Valley, or Georges for the matter.
At 6:04 I have that blue b&o loco. It's my dads old one in fact while I'm watching this I'm sitting right beside it. P.S dont get it, it falls of the tracks a tone. Other from that it's a very good loco. Made by tyco
SMT I wanna get a new DCC controller for my layout can you recommend one that works with bachmann track? Btw, I don’t want it to be exspensive and I want to be able to be able to take the controller around the layout.
Technically any controller will work provided you know how to wire it right but if you're looking for something you can just plug in I would see what bachmann has to offer. They're original ez command system is good and is easy to use but it's pretty old now and has limited features. They're new command system has many more features but I'm not sure how much it costs.
hello my friend you're someone that train shop what's funny to me as you have a lot of Canadian trains there of course but down here if we want Canadian trades that hard to find if any and a quick question is the Warchief train set Canadian you can let me know I appreciate that if you know
When my friend went to a Train shop we were in heaven!
Its an amazing video stay blessed.n keep it up

Snow and trains. Can’t get any better than that! I’ll definitely have to check out the store if I’m ever in the area. Really neat!

3:46 had another one for seven dollars.
Those Shops and Stores Are Heaven to Model Railroaders As well as going to Train shows.
SMT Very nice and you are lucky, I don’t have a local hobby shop that sells train stuff that I’m using, but did I see model rockets!
Such nice stuff
$15? Ya, you bought it. Great tour. I’ll have to stop in sometime.
My school just got s snow day, and now I see a new smt upload. It's a good day.

I wish i had a hobby shop in my town : (
Nice train store. Lots of variety of scenery etc.. I wish i could visit & shop there... ☺👍🚞🚥🚧🚧🚦🚦

I really wanted that SP Black widow f7a & a few athearn engines

Are you considering buying the Athearn blue box Delaware & Hudson (D&H) unit
Out of the lot, that's what jumped out at me too. If Harrison didn't buy it, he should go back and get it if it was around $30 American.
Awesome video smt!

That’s what I wanna replace cause I don’t have a hobby shop and I want to use different brands of engines on my dcc layout
Smt that loco you held at the end of the video appeared to be made by Trix ttr (vintage 3 rail and by the same make as your flying Scotsman)
Nice catch, I looked it over and you seem to be right.
