Madam C.J Walker 1867 1919 first black woman millionaire. Bynes Royall Funeral home is the oldest African American funeral home . Every one are able to do better but it's never easy road. In my community there are a handful of black businesses owners. There are respectful people. Mr Bill is my favorite, a Vietnam veteran.

My aunt has lived on the south side of Chicago since 1946, and visiting her each year, sometimes twice, and later being assigned on temporary duty (Army) with the LTV corporation at Des Plaines, I watched Chicago's south side change "EXACTLY" as you describe. Muslims, Central Americans, Caribean islanders, even Puerto Ricans, have no problem starting businesses and succeeding in black neighborhoods. And in many cases, their businesses are SELDOM victim of robbery, violence or other crime.

I’m white and I’m an independent. I watch different views of what people think and from what I’ve viewed it seems to me that in the sanctuary cities it’s the black population that suffering the most. They are putting all these immigrants in the black neighborhoods. I think it’s disgusting and I wish I could do something.

In some ways, the Black/Hispanic experience mirrors that of the Irish/Italians in that many Italians, like many Hispanics, are very entrepreneurial. The Irish, like the Blacks, looked more toward government jobs, union positions, and politics.
As far as that willingness, even eagerness to work goes, that's not just African Americans who lack that, it's most Americans.
I think what holds back non-entrepreneurial people of all backgrounds is the unwillingness to want to help, or serve others. That's what entrepreneurs do, they provide needed services to others.
To many people, that's seen as demeaning, and THAT is what keeps poor people of all backgrounds poor - a general unwillingness to serve others.
There's an irony in that somewhere.

We have 4 gas stations in town. 3 owned by an Indian family and one American owned. The one that advertised on the side American Owned, closed early, opened late, rude people. They are out of business. They have a work ethic that a lot of people here do not have. They go to those areas because there is a need, the rent is cheap. Its more a business decision than anything else. Thhe nice neighborhoods have 10 gas stations or shops within a mile. No money to be made there.

Wait...wasn't the first black millionaire in the US a woman in the 1800s? I'd have to double check but there were two women (supposedly student and teacher) that became millionaires independently of each other in the beauty industry.
Correction: William Alexander Leidesdorff, immigrant from the West Indies to the US was declared a millionaire post mortem in 1848. He founded the first public school in California and I guess no one knew he was a millionaire until he died suddenly and some auctioneer started doing the math.
I say this what I really mean is opportunities to the illegals loans to start a business tax free for long time opportunities we as Americans can't be given

@@timbrady6473 If you look at how the United States government, their agents, & lesser governments have dealt with foundational black Americans through out American history; America has functioned based on two things: (1) Foundational Black Americans being used as a permanent underclass, and (2) cheap foreign labor.
For instance, we have been owed reparations since 1865, yet no administration has given up reparations. Why? Because our oppression as a group is intended to prop everyone else up! It’s not by chance that most other groups do better than us, it’s policy! If we received reparations, then we would no longer need the government & we would effectively pass up a lot of other people in this country. That is what people are afraid of. Everyone benefits from our oppression. Otherwise, if not, why not just give us the reparations that has been owed? You can’t say that slavery happened a long time ago because if our ancestors were denied reparations in 1866 & everyone accepts that they should have received it then. That is considered a wrongful harm. Where did that money go instead? Probably to white Americans! Then you got the white race massacres, eminent domain, redlining, mass incarceration, cointel pro, Jim Crow, denial of bank loans, war on drugs, etc. The US government has never left us alone even when we were trying to do for self! Now our community is struggling morally & economically after everything done to us. And now you want to tell us “pull yourself up by the bootstraps.” Anybody saying that full of shit. Because when we were doing that, our neighborhoods were bombed & destroyed.

The woman that acted in Gone With The Wind won an award for best supporting actress, Rockchester that used to star with jack benny was a millionaire, Nichelle Nicoles (was encouraged by Dr. Martin Luther KingJr.), Harry Belafonte, Morgan freedman, The temptations, Nat King Cole, Denzel washington. The faces that once graced pancake syrup, rice, well known sciencentist, Drs. teachers, politicians like Tim Scott, Byron Donald's, ect. Great people that accomplished all these great things by themselves. And there were black plantation owners that owned black slaves. The only way to stop always thinking about racism is to stop raising children to hate people of different color or religion and to assess stop the schools and these socialist politicians from constantly shoving it down people throats.
